Wildcards 2022
Ghostwalker replied to waiheke1's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
As I said a few days ago, top 8 safe for next season, rest will have to qualify with one wild card reserved if one of the regular happens to get injured. If a rider doesn't manage top 8 and doesn't manage to qualify or don't bother to enter qualifiers then that one have to sit out a year. -

That should apply to all riders (Including current GP-riders) then, do away with the wild cards and keep 1 wild card if someone of the top riders fall out because of injury. -

Perhaps but he only managed top 8 once in 6 tries (including this season (injured)) so does he really deserve another try? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martin_Vaculík -

Kubera is 22, Gleb Chugonov is 21......and they didn't do too bad. -
Some more news Dackarna has been asked about continue staging a GP, Sweden/Svemo has met the new organizers and have been /will been involved in planning but only for a small part. Initially no large expansion with new races but a similar concept as today. Most things are supposedly already decided/done and will likely be presented at either the press conference or within the nearest days. Source is Janne Rindstigb (radio reporter) and Mikael Karlsson (Svemo track racing section boss),, from 22 minutes - 24 minutes. https://sverigesradio.se/avsnitt/favorit-i-repris-nar-sm-finalen-avgors

Myabe, but I agree with PirateShip that the wild cards are already considered/chosen even if the new management formally/officially aren't in control yet. -
He was fighting with Huckenbeck for first, and Huckenbeck took Pontus front wheel. Pontus took a tumble on the track and sat with his back against airfence for a while. Then stood up and walked back to pit on his own so probably a bit shaken up. Didn't look injured but obviously hard to see from a distance.
