  1. H20 Red, blue, white, yellow. Superb ride from Hougaard who fought his way up to first from last. Esbjerg have secured a place in the final. Red Esbjerg 40p Blue: Slangerup 35p Yellow: Grindsted 30p white: Fjelsted 24p Attendance is 4.119 people. Good battle between Mikkel Michelsen and Rene Bach but Mikkelsen pulled away to win heat 21 for Slangerup which means that Slangerup joins Esbjerg, Holsted and Region Varde in the Super final.
  2. Works fine. Heat 12, a very nice battle between Jensen and Jensen. Jensen won. Standings after heat 15: Esbjerg (red) 25p Slangerup 23p Grindsted 23p Fjelsted 20p Heat 16: Mikkel Michelsen (Blue) wins. So far the heats I have seen have been very good. Quite unusual for Esberg's track. Heat 18 red Iversen wins Heat 19, another win for Esbjerg. I've lost track of the score but I think Esbjerg should be pretty certain for the final now. Ok found results on facebook: https://www.facebook.com/metalspeedwayleague/photos/p.1487347781291765/1487347781291765/?type=3&theater Red Esbjerg 35 Blue: Slangerup 30p Yellow: Grindsted 29p white: Fjelsted 23 Start list the next three heats: Heat 20: Esbjerg - Patrick Hansen Slangerup - Kenneth K. Hansen Fjelsted - Patrick Hougaard Grindsted - Nicolai Klindt Heat 21: Esbjerg - Rene Bach Slangerup - Mikkel Michelsen Fjelsted - Frederik Jakobsen Grindsted Krystian Pieszcek Heat 22: Esbjerg - Niels Kristian Iversen Slangerup Speedway Klub - Andreas Lyager Fjelsted - Peter Kildemand Grindsted - Przemyslaw Pawlicki
  3. Haven and Hafen is the same word and likely originates from Proto-Germanic/habnō which originally meant "(“to take, seize, grasp”)." and then developed into harbour. However I do believe that "hagen" was the original name on the settlement (before there was a harbour) and then when a harbour was established it changed to havn from hagen but perhaps the English name was already established by then and it have then been used since?
  4. Well then say so. Hagen likely stems from the old Norse Hagi which in it's turn stems from the even older Norse word hagô. Both variants means hage (swedish) have (danish) (eng: paddock, enclosed yard). So likely/perhaps during the early days of CPH, there were some kind of enclosed yard where the merchants bough/sold their good which then have given the settlement it's name.
  5. Not entirely correct.. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Da-K%C3%B8benhavn.ogg While it is spelled with a b, the b is pronounced as a p, it is the same pronunciation as the Swedish "Köping" word; like Köping, Norrköping, Linköping, Söderköping, Lidköping. It is the same reason why ph and f are usually pronounced the same way despite being spelled differently. Like Photo and foto. The same word and pronunciation but different spelling. The English "language" tends to use Latin spelling while the other Germanic languages use more "Germanic" spelling. Like F instead of Ph, T instead of Th, Ck instead of cc.... I would assume this is because England was occupied by the Romans while the most part of the Germanic speaking areas were not occupied by the Romans. Also not sure where you found an f in Göteborg? It is the first time I have seen someone claiming that there is an f in Göteborg? Copenhagen's name stems from "Køpmannæhafn" ~The merchants men harbour. So the P is entirely correct, the g is maybe some misheard pronunciation. @UK_Martin, regarding the "Nordic languages", well they are germanic languages, just like German, Dutch, English, Faroese, Frisian. Basically regional variants of the same language.
  6. Because using Zengota+Bogdanovs wouldn't have been a better solution. Then Bogdanovs really screwed up last week when he missed the boat and had to use loaned equipment. It didn't really go down well with Indianerna's management.
  7. I think not. He have had too many already. He have not really shown that he deserves one either. If Lindbäck is inside top 8, there will be two Swedes anyway. If Lindbäck is outside top 8, then give him the wild card if there have to be two Swedes. Anyway AJ sits out 2017 gp series.
  8. According to this article you are ccorrect. It says that AJ was pressed into the fence by Greg when AJ tried to pass Greg on the outside. http://norrteljetidning.se/sport/1.4260788-otacka-scener-i-motala-rospiggarnas-stjarna-i-allvarlig-krasch The article also says back pains and that he had a hard hit to the shoulder.
  9. Rospiggarna v Dackarna Piraterna v Indianerna. Quite possible. I assume that KLS-PP is a postponed meeting? In that case, Swedish play offs should have precedence, cos' that is how it have worked in the Sweden with postponed meetings. Even for Swedish riders.
  10. Smederna's chairman of the board says that they are planning for Elitserien despite that they finished last. Västervik and Griparna will meet in the Allsvenskan final and it is uuncertain if any of them wants to take the step up should they win the final.
  11. Hampel to continue at Vetlanda.http://www.speedwaynyheter.se/2016/09/04/hampel-klar-fortsattning-elit-vetlanda/
  12. Yeah but those aren't very good riders. It also depends on the track. Vetlanda is exclusively a gating track. And an outside gate early is very likely to mean 0p and is in general very unfavourable . Unless you are super gater or have superfast bikes. I can agree on that he sounds like a poor looser but I also think that have valid points about the draw.
  13. Peter Ljung claims that the draw was fixed so that FIM/BSI could get the riders they want in the SGP. PL says that it is the fourth challenge in a row that he gets an outside gate. He also says that it is no coincident that Vaculik was "drawn" as nr 5, he finds it strange that one of the wild cards who were knocked out in the semi then gets the best draw number in the final. http://www.vetlandaposten.se/article/ljung-kritisk-till-lottningen/ No you are correct. I remembered it wrong. It was Lindbäck and not Lindgren who won in Vetlanda 2011. http://www.vetlandaposten.se/article/ljung-kritisk-till-lottningen/
  14. No way they are going to hand out three Danish wild cards. Then top 8 is far from decided yet. Still plenty of time for Nicki and or Lindgren or Kildemand to sneak into top 8.
  15. Marky is correct. Riders placed 4-6 in the GP challenge are used in order, if more riders are needed then BIS/FIM can select anyone they want. This is the second time in a row that Lindgren finished top 3 in the GP challenge on this track.
  16. So run off for 3rd. Shouldn't KB go through though on two victories vs. Fl one victory?
