  1. What is this "putting the money up"? You agreed the 10k bet. Onus is now on Robert72 to declare who he is. Once that is done and it is accepted that he is a former rider, then the money becomes the issue.
  2. On the "Should ex-riders pay to get in" thread Speedibee posted the following.... Robert 72 , is Robert Jackson . used to have a second account called Jackson 2 Bwitcher then posted... The only Robert Jackson that appears on the excellent speedway database is this one.. Rob Jackson Born: 28.10.1944, Bradford, England British Clubs: Crewe (1969, 1970) Berwick (1970) Bradford (1970) Year..Club..Meetings..Rides..Points..Bonus..Average..Maxima 1969..Crewe..2..4..2..0..2.00 1970..Crewe..8..23..24..5..5.04 1970..Berwick..1..4..6..0..6.00 1970..Bradford..1..2..1..0..2.00 Read more: http://wwosbackup.pr...n#ixzz4EINb12Ff Whether thats true or not god only knows (or cares). As for Robert72 - for someone who is obviously so proud of his being an ex-rider and has mentioned it countless times, I find it strange you do not confirm who you are. Your reticence will only confirm the growing, widely held opinion that you are a teller of tales. Like This Quote MultiQuote
  3. Pretty sure Ian Thomas wrote in his Autobiography that any challenge to an opposition's line up was best left to the last minute - especially when you knew you were in the right- as it left no time for alternatives to be found.
  4. Hope you're using a pencil. Good wins from the back in 6 and 7.
  5. 5 posts copied in order. I'm struggling to see anybody having a "melt down" as claimed by you in the last one.
  6. "most Aussies start a lot higher" Obvious implication, otherwise why mention "Aussie"?
  7. He was 15 when he started in the UK, what other league could he ride in?Edit: and he's not an Aussie.
  8. What would we do without old Gustix telling us stuff?
  9. Thanks for the reply, but don't really see how the answer proves you were "right by the words of Darcy". It sounds like you were aggrieved that the money raised has been spent on a house in Australia? As for you calling the Steve Brandon walk a "disgrace"..... I get your views on other disabled riders, but hardly a disgrace.
  10. You'll have to refresh my memory about your "view on Darcy". I just seem to remember you banging on about the need for an announcement about the exact nature of his injuries.
  11. Seriously? You used the same excuse when nobody supported your views on Darcy Ward. The faceless hordes who support you, but for some strange reason never post that support.
  12. I've never been a fan of Tai. I didn't like the way he got fast forwarded into the GP series and I loathed the "Woffy,Woffy,Woffy" hero worship he got from the Shouty twins. Certainly when he was younger he came across as a "Charmless Nurk" (copywright Norman Stanley Fletcher) when interviewed. But I hope he goes through the card on Saturday and the fans at Cardiff wave their flags in his honour, because maybe, maybe we could then put this bloody thread to bed. Edit: And I hope he doesn't sing that poxy National Anthem either.
  13. Pretty sure that Rory's charity or foundation sponsor the Irish Open. It is the only European Tour event held in Ireland and he plays in it.
  14. Seriously? Granted it was poor stuff, but we have seen plenty of poor meetings over the years. Nothing will be more damaging and embarrassing than the Belle Vue/Poole fixture a couple of years ago. That was a disgrace.
  15. I liked watching Berwick last week. Good to see different tracks covered. Swindon can be boring, particularly when the home team are gating and the away team are wick. Tonight is poor. Edit: even dull when the Bees gate.
  16. Stadium Scratch Race (Heat 1) Andrews, Coombes, Wakefield, Gooch 71.2 SSR (2) Trigg, Gardner, McGillivray, Etheridge 72. Talent Stakes Colin Tucker, Mick Holmes, Keith Teasdale, T Chamberlain 77. SSR (3) Wakefield, Leonard, Bass, Tucker 72. Tucker replaced Gary Middleton who had left the stadium in the back of Len Silver's car. 17. Thoroughly enjoyed that. Racing might not have been out of the top drawer, but everything else about the meeting was. Great to see such a super turn-out having such an enjoyable time at a Speedway meeting. As for Danny Ayres - might have only won Heat 2 but the crowd obviously loved his celebration - which is surely the main thing?
  18. Hard to believe as many as 1% voted to say that the Elite League was fine as it is. Not surprised that Matt is looking for change - it's crazy that Pirates have hardly had a home fixture in the month of June. I was brought up on weekly Speedway so I feel that continuity is a positive but it was only a couple of years ago that Bob Dugard at Eastbourne was looking to limit fixtures. Hard to see clubs being attracted up to the Elite after the issues that Leicester have faced this year. Matt would have to be very accommodating with that asset list to get enough clubs willing to move up.
  19. We have the benefit of the replays to show that often the "jumped" starts are a lot of the time going with the magnets. The ref only has a few seconds to decide and it is easy to err on the side of caution and pull them back.
  20. Give me a couple of days and I'll get the details for the Hackney match.
  21. I have programmes for a number of those home matches. Give us a couple of days to dig them out and I'll e-mail you the details.
  22. My mistake. I should have known Jimmy Mac had gone over to the dark side by then. Mitch Graham was the other Viking.
