  1. "You must all know that the first Internationale at Harringay was the one and only time I raced there. I guess I won the meeting because I was so angry, it was supposed to be a meeting instead of the World Final as the final for the first time was held outside England and the same rules as for the final was set. And yet I was the only rider to turn up with a uncut tyre, everyone else had cut tyres...." Though he still won....Anyone know why all this happened? Anymore information. Ove can only remember this about this event. I remember a terrific meeting with a fantastic final.

  3. I would be very interested in the New Cross ones Genesis for a web site I am producing. I have emailed you regarding it. Also, I would appreciate it if anyone has any other material I might be able to use especially stadia photo's or personal anecdotes on New Cross speedway. I have just discovered the original signature tune. Marching Along Together; Jack Hylton. http://www.petefaint.co.uk/jackhylton/marchingalongtgthr.ram
  4. Peter Collins is the guest of Honour at the Stafford Classic bike show over the weekend of 24th and 25th of April 2004. This is a premier motorcycle show, that I have attended for many years and this is the first time a Speedway rider has been designated the guest of honour role. Quite right and not before time. He will be there giving a talk on both days with some of his machinery on display.
  5. I once lived midway between Mildenhall and Kings Lynn. I took some photo's at events at both these tracks. I recently remembered that I had these in my loft so I got them out and started to scan them in. There are quite a few in colour, but there must be several hundred in black and white, mostly action shots. I have put some up here and I know who the portraits (I think) are but I have not got a clue about these action ones. Time permitting I will get around to getting some more done. Updated 22.10.03 Includes last action photo of Eric Gundersen(?) http://homepage.ntlworld.com/jim.blanchard/photographs.html
