But if the "Wright " riders decide to go elsewhere there's not much promoters can do, is there.
-
Covatti signs for Poole.
-
Many riders do that towards the end of the season
-
Nothing wrong with Wright going were the money is, but definately nothing wrong with Garry Many sticking to his guns and not paying anymore than the budget the club works to ...simples.
-
Absolutely right, great post. It's all about the money now.
-
I thought I had heard that it was a rule that no promoter could run two clubs in the same league, of course I could be dreaming
-
I think what everyone should remember is at least they have Speedway........... many don't.
-
I expect they haven't had time yet, the meeting only finished today.
-
You'll be lucky !!

I posted this on the wrong thread so have re posted: It is obvious that British Speedway cannot afford the top riders with the wages and the big signing on fees they require. Something has to be done to bring the cost down for promoters and riders alike, although it may be a little late, when all costs starting rising and crowds starting dropping years back, action should have been taken then, but nothing of any consequence was done. Speedway in this country must take a step back, throw away the rule book and start again. Too many complicated rules for a simple sport that fans cannot understand (or is that the general idea I wonder). The sport has gone from a team sport to a sport of individuals, riders rushing off soon as the meeting has ended and not mixing with the supporters, and the presentation (if you can call it that) is abysmal. The cost is too expensive to take a family on a regular basis, although Speedway prides itself on being a family sport! The entrance fee for two adults and two kids, programme, car park and the kids will want burgers and drinks, not forgetting the adults say an average of £60-£80, plus their fuel to get their, how many young families can afford £240 or more a month, with a mortgage to pay etc. As soon as the crowds drop the promotions only answer is to put the entrance fee up. Thoughts.

Bomber would have to take a cut in wages then!
-
I wouldn't think Somerset would want to go back to Fridays with all that M5 traffic, and all the problems on the roads Fridays usually bring
-
Excellent, mind you will they listen and take good ideas on board !!
-
Why doesn't everyone leave the Poole fans to wallow in their own glory, they will always think it is all fair and above board whatever they do. Why don't other posters stop biting at their comments and ignore them and just leave them to talk among themselves, they only do it to get a reaction on all sites not just their own

Somerset v King's Lynn KO Cup final 1st leg 17/10/18
Buttons replied to tellboy's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
This is a Somerset v Kings Lynn thread.....................................NOT POOLE. -
Even if they did cap the wages, there would always be some promoter getting their sponsor to top it up, just wouldn't work unfortunately.
-
Would like to see both Holders in Somersets team along with Wright.
