Did not say Berwick were doing anything, or even any suggestion they were Dick. The question was simple, would you or would you pay £20 entry fee at Berwick. The question was asked as a few clubs are contemplating that figure, in saying that the emphasis is simply CONTEMPLATING not actually doing it -

I always have a business head on, wouldn't it be nice if everyone who purchased a watch from my shop, decided to give me a donation because they think I need to boost my profit. Not a great lover of trusts unless they have a say on the decisions being made. The profit is made at the gate and not by charitable donations. Provide good entertainment the product will become e viable. -

I know you said it in jest Dave, but saviour. This a man that perpetuates zero hours contracts and the minimum range, or as our Government call it 'The New Living wage', the lowest of the lowest followed closely by Amazon and most of our Supermarkets. By the way the living wage is £10.35 and £11.25 in London -

It's a question, would a fan pay £20 to help speedway survive, it could be £17, £18, £19. My thought is £15 is too steep for the level of entertainment. As for a meeting at 5.00 on a Sunday at the B&G , I will be working, but I am pretty sure my absence will not be missed. -

I picked meetings last season and I am a concession , at £11 it was not the cost but the lack of entertainment, in saying that apart from Glasgow in the start of the season and P/Boro at the end of the season even the ones I chose had little entertainment. For me the savings on a season ticket don't add up, miss 2 meetings and it's not worth while. If I were to pay normal gate money anything over £15 would not be worth it. -

Surely by setting that point limit, it is the intention of stopping the likes of Cook ,Harris etc riding in the Championship league. It should also help to stop the dreaded doubling up/down situation. It would be far simpler to have a new rule that a rider can only ride for one club. -

I said it earlier in this post, if a business spends more out than it brings in, the business will fail. You are extremely lucky that you have Sugar Daddies in Glasgow, but after their statement it appears they have woken up and smelled the coffee -

Provide the entertainment the crowds will come, a healthy gate will then cover the costs. The answer is not to ask the heavily stretched fans to cough up even more to cover an unviable enterprise.I did not attend at least half the meetings last season, due in the main to little or no entertaining meetings. Yes we had a few mainly the first and last meetings, with an odd race thrown in from the rerst -

Championship level should be amateur status, riders should have a full time job and speedway is their hobby. Retain the upper level at professional status to give the lower levels to aim for. Get rid of doubling up and paid guests, if riders like Cook and Harris want to ride in the lower leagues then they should receive the same point money as the other riders, point money should be the same for all riders irrespective of their average, running costs are the same for all riders no matter what level. -
To be honest, you are probably correct. Speedway needs re-inventing from the bottom up
-
My background in motorsport was Enduro, but in the days when everything had to be paid for by myself, I afforded it because I enjoyed it. I had to work my HOBBY around my full time employment. Time speedway riders and promoters in the lower levels realised this, and got back to basics, it is not a full time job, it is a hobby at this level. perhaps one tier being run at a professional level giving the amateurs something to strive for.

Berwick has planning permission at Shielfield to run speedway, it will not have to be applied for, certainly not in the next 5 years anyway -

Surely, has to be Cornhillcol -
Time the Championship was made an amateur league, riders riding speedway as a hobby and not a job, much smaller point money covering their costs. Will probably be just as entertaining, cannot get worse anyway.
