Nothing on here about the Tai and Nigel night at The Black & Gold. Just had someone in shop saying they had a fantastic night, followed by another who said the same. Couldn't go myself, but a real well done to Berwick Bandits Supporters Clubfor organising another very good event.

Back in the days of Peter Waite at Berwick, he put a realistic figure on the amount of paying adults (full entry & concession), that figure was 750. With the increase in overheads, I would say that any crowd below 800, that club will be struggling, unless they have a generous donor backing the shortfall

And why would anyone try to stop it.

All I ask is, before any Play Offs take place, all teams complete their fixture list.

Just what the promoters need to listen to. Gone are the days when fans just follow a club blindly, watching any type of speedway is expensive, if the standard of entertainment is poor then the fan will pick and choose what to watch. It is not disloyalty to comment on the standard of racing, when you can fill your programme in on 1st lap 2nd bend, is that entertainment, I fear not. Why is it the fans fault when they walkaway , surely it is the clubs fault for not supplying good speedway and entertainment, so unless the Promoters pull their fingers out and give what the paying public want, I fear for the future of the sport.

Colin Is it true you have planning permission for speedway around Cornhill roundabout, and will it be free entry as you cannot build a fence.

It does appear to me, the more a club mis-manages it's affairs, and the BSPA negate their responsibility by not sorting out the many problems in speedway. Of course the two are the same, as the promoter is one part of the other. The more they ask of a declining fan base financially, to the degree where it reaches terminal decline.

Surely, A supporters club run by supporters, is a supporters club, of which the supporters decide on what any funds are spent on. A supporters club run by the club, is a funding stream run by the club for it's own benefit, and should not be called a supporters club, as it is without the control of the supporters. The way to support a club is to pay through the turnstiles. The clubs responsibility is to provide adequate entertainment to achieve that.

It is sad news, I loved The Comics coming to Berwick. On the question of investment, no businessman or woman would knowingly invest in a bad investment and speedway is a bad investment. INVESTMENT is the wrong heading, CHARITABLE DONATION would be more apt
