  1. Hi folks, as said previously Davey will be partying at Berwick Rugby Club as arranged. WE HAVE A LIMITED AMOUNT OF TICKETS FOR THIS PISS UP OF THE YEAR. PHONE ME on 01289 331500, if you want a ticket, I will reserve you tickets payable on night. P.S DAVE PAVITT your entry fee is £500 as a donation to Davys fund.
  2. Can I please point out, the little I have done to help David achieve a night to remember, is with my greatest pleasure, for one of the nice guys in speedway. HOWEVER, the real praise must go to LISA YOUNGMAN, & GRAHAM REEVE, whos work behind the scenes has been unstinting, Lisa doing most of the unseen work and for keeping Davey in line, Graham for sorting for sorting out all of the technical & legal requirements. Also many other who have contributed their time & knowledge, like Dennis McLeary and Lawrence Hepple .
  3. MELDRUMS MILESTONE Due to the Isle Of White refusing to ride this Saturday at Berwick, the management at Berwick Speedway have been forced to stage the clash on Saturday the 18th of October. As this was the date set for MELDRUMS MILESTONE, they have had no option in cancelling Davids Testimonial. DAVIDS PARTY AT THE RUGBY CLUB. WILL CONTINUE AS PLANNED. WE HOPE TO RE-RUN THE EVENT IN EARLY MARCH 2009. A FITTING START TO THE 2009 SEASON. The committe would like to thank Peter Waite for his assistance in staging Davids testimonial, and place no blame on Berwick Speedway. The problem has a occurd due to the Isle of Whites refusal to ride, due to the said club releasing 3 riders for long track events, even though the dates of the Young Shield were agreed well in advance.
  4. BORDERNAPOLIS, MY OPINION ONLY. 1. OVERPRICED 2. POOR LINE UP 3. CRAP TURNOUT 4. POORLY PREPARED INCONSISTANT TRACK 5. VERY POOR PROMOTION OF EVENT. (well almost non-existant) All in all very, very, disappointed, perhaps with a better line up and good promotion, £10 entry it might have done something. We have been telling you for months about MELDRUMS MILESTONE, it might not be a top notch line up, but it is quite good, and will be entertaning, at an affordable price, especially the family man, whos kids under 14 go free with an adult. HOPE TO SEE YOU ALL AT DAVEYS TESTIMONIAL. IT WILL BE WORTH EVERY PENNY. PERHAPS IT WILL SHOW WHAT CAN BE DONE, AND MORE IMPORTANTLY THANK DAVEY FOR ENTERTAINING US FOR THE LAST 15 YEARS.
  5. YES on the 3rd bend with Team Rymel, the guy had a Bees shirt on.
  6. Well I made it to Sheffield, as they said in the Grove I never go away to away matches, unfortunately I have a business, and work 6 day weeks (7 days at Xmas). So I cant ask my boss for time off, nor am I a student or un-employed. I must say I really enjoyed the day,I would have liked to meet some of you fellow posters, Sarah, you should have practised your P.R. skills and brought people to meet me, I suppose I could have a t. shirt made, but when will I be able to escape again. Anyway, 'TEAM RYMEL' were over the moon with Adrians performance, obviously we would have liked a win, but he did us proud non the less, he has proved to be a worthy contender, perhaps if he had not gone for gate 4 in the final it would have been a different conclusion. Mind Peter Waite said there were only 2 gates all day 1 & 4, I thought at the time what planet is he on, 8 wins from gate 1, 7 wins from gate 2, 4 wins from gate 3 and only 1 win from fate 4. The track was slick with no grip on the 1st bend, so Adrian obviously saw something the rest of us didnt, he did not workand that is that. A special mention for Woofinden a class act and one for the very near future, Nieminen was worthy what an improvement this season, also Doyle & Bunyon and of course our very own Mr Rymel. The only downside to the meeting wasth young guysanding by us shouting 'come on Ben' in a very high pitched girlie voice, I coudn't get to sleep with 'COME ON BEN', a thing of nightmares.

  8. The date is set for David Meldrums Testimonial. IT IS ON 18th OCTOBER 2008 The line up is looking prety good so far, I will attempt to keep you all informed as riders are confirmed. The event will consist of 16 riders over 12 heats with 2 semi finals and final, 7 rider from main heat will go into the semis. It will also have a mini meeting consisting of 12 riders, 2 heats each and a final, the winer getting a wild card into the semi final of the main meeting. ANYONE INTERESTED IN SPONSORSHIP, telephone 01289 331500 ask for Taffy. HEAT SPONSORSHIP £150 RIDER SPONSOSHIP £100
  9. Czech teamI am sure is:- Ales Dryml, Lukas Dryml, Adrian Rymel, Lubos Tomicek & Fillip Siterra. I wonder where the idea of Mikael Makovski riding for a Czech team came from, he has not ridden in his home country since signing for The Bandits in 2001.
  10. I thought nobody was going to mention Adrian Rymel, probably because he rides for the Bandits, and we dont count. He is a force to be reckoned with this year, one of those underestmated riders. My only problem is that engine should be over here, but I must admit it is doing well, it's called POOF 3.
