They should, it's whats been lacking since Dave Peat, in both cases they could only work with what they were allowed. Must be frustrating to be limited in your ability, but one has to work within a budget.
-
Absolutely agree with that, yes he made a few mistakes, but learnt by them.

So many rumours, don't know which one to believe next. One even reckons I will be the next promoter, running it for a money man. How the hell can you enjoy speedway if you are running it, too old and too careful with my money

Dennis was a regular till a few seasons ago, for what ever reason he stopped coming. Darren may have been a fan , don,t recall him as a regular, and he didn't give me that impression when talking to him. Spent half of one meeting explaining the rules to Darren and Michael
-
They certainly took to speedway in a big way, and seem to enjoy the experience. Were a breath of fresh air, bringing a bit of fun back into speedway. Of the three Dennis Hush used to come to speedway, but lost interest in the last few years, got re-invigorated with Michael and Darren.
-
Suggest you have a chat with them
-
The reason the three associate directors that have just resigned, got involved in the 1st place, was very much to do with their involvement with Berwick Rangers, than it had to do with speedway itself.

Never quite understood why Ltd. Companies can defer their returns for 12 months, it means their accounts are always one year behind. This can only give you a view of the previous years accounts, e.g the accounts lodged this year are for 14/15 financial year and not 15/16. It is as you say, by looking at the accounts,is irrelevant , as you cannot come to a decision on them especially where an accountant as manipulated a certain amount of creative accountancy. All you can do in this situation as a potential purchaser is get an inventory, assess the value for yourselves and apply a value to it. Whatever the vendor claims in essence can be ignored, it may be the case that the purchaser and the vendor are on the same level, but it would be unusual.

THE STATEMENT AND BEYOND ------------------------------------------------------------ At this point in time, there is nothing to be added to, or further said about the statement contained in your last edition of Banditmail. "As we emphasised, enquiries are being treated in strict confidence" said John Anderson, speaking for Ryan and George yesterday. "Until we have reached agreement with a preferred bidder, we do not expect to be making any further public statements". The above taken from newsletter:- A bit baffled with 'A PREFERRED BIDDER'

Plrc 2016....who's Your Winner?

These events should be held on neutral tracks, PL events held on EL tracks and vice/versa -
Congratulations Somerset
balderdash&piffle replied to bri1966's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I would say Somerset have just won the League Competition, head and shoulders above any other club. Now they are in a new competition, called The Playoffs, made up of just 6 clubs, which I am sure they want to win aswell. -
YES, accrding to Scott and Garry Good night, didn't learn a lot about the training track mind
-
Best to keep it clean, just in the interest of retaining Speedway at Berwick. No harm in discussing the complications of speedway though, perhaps a prospective buyer may learn something useful
-
Would be sensible to sell it as a bundle, asset strip it takes a long time and you get little value, example who wants to but a second hand safety fence, all the clubs have one.
-
Spot on example. Just said to someone you have a car valued at £5k, but you have spent £5 k on it, new wheels etc. it doesnt mean anything, the car is still worth £5k
-
The club is worth what it is worth, no businessmen will pay more than it's value, just a fact of life. I think in this instance it will have to be the club that has to be responsible when selling it. It is no good saying I have put X amount into it and I want it back, it will not happen. So I suppose it a case of taking it on the chin, and being realistic, and passing it on at it's real value
-
You will have the clubs version of it's value, usually verified by their accountant. The purchaser will require someone with a financial background to dispute the value, and come to a structured valuation. Someone earlier mentioned 'Goodwill', generally no longer exists, however in this case there is zero 'Goodwill' as by the clubs own admission it is losing money. The rest of the valuation. comes down to physical assets and the 'Promoters Licence'. The stadium is on lease to Berwick Rangers Supporters Club, with a no sub let agreement in place, so no security of tenure, other than the football wanting it due to the weekly rent, in this case goodwill
-
He was exonerated on the charges, and received compensation from the Swedish government for falsely accusing him. Best not to say anything if you are not sure of the facts This is simple, the club is worth what it is worth, it is irrelevant as to how much money has been spent on it. You need an inventory and an accountant ,and come to a value, that is it. The bond is a fully refundable amount lodged with BSPA, as long as there are no outstanding amounts owing to riders etc you get it back, so should only be included as part of the deal to simplify the procedure .

Can only be an improvement

Swc Round 2 Coventry 14th July
balderdash&piffle replied to skid row's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Czech teamI am sure is:- Ales Dryml, Lukas Dryml, Adrian Rymel, Lubos Tomicek & Fillip Siterra. I wonder where the idea of Mikael Makovski riding for a Czech team came from, he has not ridden in his home country since signing for The Bandits in 2001. -
I thought nobody was going to mention Adrian Rymel, probably because he rides for the Bandits, and we dont count. He is a force to be reckoned with this year, one of those underestmated riders. My only problem is that engine should be over here, but I must admit it is doing well, it's called POOF 3.
