Your point on a No1, every time we have had an out and out No1 in the last 20 years, nowhere. However, in 2002, 2005 and 2013 or 14, we ran with a team in depth, and were very near the top in all cases 2nd in 02 & 05.
Probably a very strong case for merging two top leagues into one, would have made 20 clubs, 19 home and 19 away. Not much difference between the now old EL & PL, think a club like Somerset could have easily competed in the EL this year.
Would have got rid of the dreaded doubling up problem as well, and also allowed riders to have more rides for their club during the season
Dont really care what its called, as long as we get speedway. Speedway needs a shake up, and until we see the final changes, I dont think it is a big enough shake up, but its a start, and hope something more radical is yet to come.
Would it not better if there were no pies/chips/burgers, and they served something that was more beneficial to healthy eating, like this no fat content
Thats OK, a Brit fixed at No7 on a 3 point average, then 38 points for the rest. The problem is that most No7s from this season are on a false average, due to their protected status, so I would like to see some flexibility on that 3 points
Don't know what's happening with Garrity, but as someone who has been sponsoring Berwick riders, I have been told if he comes to Berwick, to stay well clear of him as far as sponsorship is concerned.
Was hoping that No7 would be Brit with an ave of between 3 and 4.5 who would remain in that as a fixed position, then 38 points for your remaining 6 riders
Got to agree with you on consortiums, they rarely work, too many Indians not enough Chiefs comes to mind,, You need one person in charge to make decisions. Not a bad idea to listen to as many fans as possible, and cherry pick the good ideas, but only have one person to make the decisions.
I like the idea in Poland, where a rider stays at No 7 until he passes 21 yrs, irrespective of his average. I suppose it's the luck of the draw if you get a good rider.
Would be nice to see an under 21 British rider at No7 with an average ratio of between 3 ave and 5 ave, fixed at No7 for the season, then 38 points to assemble the other 6 riders.
