  1. Don't see why an Australian should be favoured over any other immigrant from without the EU, it is probable that the Mae woman will have to come to an agreement with the EU to allow the UK to trade in the Single Market and the Customs union. However if we Brexit completely, and do not come to an agreement over access in the EU, then everyone outside the UK and it's Dominions ( Gibralter etc. etc.). All will be subject to normal visa rules, including all EU countries, which would surely be a bigger headache for speedway than losing a few under performing Aussies.
  2. In a real world, and we were staying in the EU, it would probably classed as restrictive practice. However the nation has voted to leave the EU, that alone will probably blow employment rules out of the water. The way the BSPA is set up is essentially a private club, and it's membership have to obey the club rules laid down, in other words they are a rule to themselves, and can generally do as they wish, excluding any normal employment rules, as they have done and are doing. The only control set is on immigration where a visitor to the UK must obey Visa rules set down by the State, which cannot be overruled by the private club.
  3. Control the wage structure, and heavily fine promotions who abuse it. Big big changes still needed, if they play on tinkering at the edges, you, me or anyone else will not have speedway before long.
  4. Then elaborate, defend your statement with reasoned debate please
  5. Totally agree, another part they just got wrong. Why not simply have 2 British riders resident in the UK for 90% of their life No7, being under 21 and protected for season to remain at No7 for entire season No 6 being British of any age resident in UK again for 90% of their life, either protected or can only be replaced with the equivelent British rider.
  6. Speedway pal, the fans provide the income for the club to survive, then the powers that be ignore their customer and they walk, oh ! and for f**ks sake don't make any comments about them, you may get barred before you had the chance to walk. BLWYDDYN NEWYDD DDA
  7. I have no doubt the rules are being followed, just not in the way they were intended. I dont blame Edinurgh fo manipulating a loophole, I do blame the BSPA for not getting it right, then allowing it.
  8. Surely the intention was to assist young British riders to get a leg up in their own country, sadly they cocked it up by allowing manipulation
  9. Very much a team like Berwick IF IF IF IF, might turn out OK might not. When they changed the rules, should have been made clear a UK rider was someone born in UK and resided in the UK 90% of his life. By not doing so allowed someone to manipulate the rule, someone forgot to cross the'T's' and dot the'I's'
  10. I think the rating system is irrelevant, it highlights the form of an individual rider, but it is a team sport. At the moment it almost impossible to say which team will gel the most, that could be the real secret of which team will perform as a unit . Some teams will have a top heavy team with a weak bottom end, other teams will have an average top end and a strong bottom end, other teams will be teams in depth and could surprise fans. In saying that Sheffield does stand out with a solid top 6 carrying a No7. What I am sure of, is it is going to be a pretty interesting season and hopefully entertaining, Lets hope all of the teams end up with roughly what they started with, and not too many injuries
  11. A welcome return to a management thinking about how they can generate their own viability, by supplying something we want to buy and enjoy. This has been sorely missing in the last 8 years
  12. Kevlars I hope so, and truly hope they are purchased from 'SPEEDWAY ANARCHY', Adrian Rymel makes the very best racewear, and deserves the support from a team he gave the ultimate sacrifice for.
  13. Remember Berwick well, dont like being in the box, bl*ody good job i was that year
  14. Nationality in all sports has been a bit of a joke for decades, in rugby if you have Scottish mum an English dad,one Irish grandmother the other grandmother Welsh, a granddad French the other granddad Italian, you can play for any of those countries, a total joke. Nationality should be simple, the country in which you are born is your nationality, when it comes to passports , the passport you use 90% to100% of the time that would define your nationality, someone with a dual passport for convenience, should be outlawed.
  15. Heard rumours that someone from Wooler was doing centre green
  16. Nowts free pal, free entry for services rendered, no charity when you are running a business.
  17. Does that translate as :- WELSH- WELSH- WELSH But because Welsh is a hard language you could not spell it Nadolig Llawen na Blwyddyn Newydd Dda
  18. Not writing them off, could well be the dark horse as a a team, it's just a team I cannot get my head together with.
  19. Like I said before, it's a team that is difficult to get your head around. Which Bridger do we get, will Vissing become a team man , as he wasnt previously, hence the handbags with Kus in the pits. I hop lIam kicks on, it's going to be much harder for him in the main team. Kev will do what he does, don't see much change there. The Gap just don't know. The one rider to watch out for me is Dimitri Berge.
  20. Don;t think we had much in the first place, but yep all the good stuff has gone
