Glasgow have nothing to be embarressed about, however it does prove that money does not guarantee success -

All of this nonsense and not a mention of the only decent thing that came out of Scotland, TUNNOCKS TEACAKES, oh and perhaps Bellhaven Bitter. -

Bet The Owen Bros had a job as well, semi pros, perhaps the problem lies there, treating speedway as a job and not a hobby. I rode Enduro in the 70/80s, although I rode for my country , it was very much a hobby and not my proffession

As I said how big is the round, 3, 5,6,7,10,20, the statement was an irrelevance. A round for 10 in Pardubice when at the Golden Helmet is 300czk roughly £10 at todays exchange rate, last year it worked out at £7
-
That a Banks's pub, Is Davenports still available
-
you said you could not get a round for £20, not £15.a round is as big as the amount of people in the round, so if there was 10 in a round it would be £30 but if only 5 in the round it would be £15, The statement about the round is ambiguous and largely irrelevant
-
Paulco already knows, a pint of Bell Haven is £2.80, an d a pit of Tennants lager is £3.00. I bought a round for 6 on Saturday it cost £17.40 3 pints of beer and 3 pints of lager. In my favourite pub I get a pint of locally brewed REAL ALE for £3.10
-
I would pick new friends pal, I suppose a round for 7 people would be around £20, if it aint you are drinking in the wrong place

Cardiff is a once in a season event, a holiday at speedway for many fans. We have 6 million JAMs in the UK (just about managing) get real, these guys need to fed their family first
-
£20 is a lot if you are on a low income and have to prioritise , in the last 6 years hourly rates have been driven down whereby the minimum wage of £7.50 per hr has become the norm. You may be lucky, like myself, if I want something I can afford to get it, not everyone is that fortunate

Speedway has never been a bikers sport, hardly know a speedway rider that rides a road bike. I only got involved in 1996 sponsoring a local lad David Meldrum, initially didn't go to watch him going round 4 times in a circle or oval
-
Absolutely not, doubling up was a stupid idea that has caused many of the problems, it simply has not worked to benefit speedway. It is of little use to stick ones heads under the blankets, and simply hope it will sort itself out, it will not. Sort out the problem or suffer the consequences. There is little difference between Premiership and Championship nowadays, so one big restructured league, and retain a development league to feed the new league
-
I think the clubs , that is owners and promoters, need to get their heads out of the proverbials and smell the coffee. They are the problem, speedway needs radical change, and they are the only ones that can change it. So unless they come to terms with they are the problem, then yes speedway is doomed
-
Doubling up, is one of the major problems, needs to be got rid of. could you imagine a Glasgow Rangers player doubling up with Celtic, i's a bl**dy nonsense. Nick Morris riding for Berwick and doubling up with Swindon, the two teams meet each other in the play offs, who does he ride for Put a number on that,25% of what figure. 4 fans attend 25% increase there are now 5 attending

Strange comment, we have had processional racing for 8 years and was it not Ian ( Razor) doing the track for that whole period. The track has generally been better this season, with just a few hic ups on the way. -

Gates have fallen in latter weeks, partly to with Southern clubs visiting. A lot have not returned since the heat 15 fiasco against Glasgow, undoing all the good work that was done preciously, in fact you havn't stood with your pal on the 3rd bend since that meeting. -

No argument the youngsters are coming along FOR FREE, there is little evidence they remain at the important time for the club, WHEN THEY START TO PAY. If they don't continue to come and pay then all the effort is in vain.Look around the stands, there is a big void between the under 16s and the OLD FARTS -

The flaw in your argument, it is the old farts like you and too a lesser extent me, who pay to attend every week, the kids are free. So without the old fart to support speedway financially, there will no speedway for the youngster to go to in the future. -

Simply YES, if I was in the same trouble as British Speedway, I would take as much advice as necessary to put it right.. If I don't give my customers what they want, my business is down the pan.
