  1. It really is a simple sport, as far as rules are concerned Four riders leave the tapes without an infringement, go as fast as you can, keep turning left for four laps, avoid knocking each other off, first over the line is the winner, JOB DONE. If a rider has not moved at the tapes, anticipates the magnet and lets the clutch go, (does not matter how many fractions of a second) does not touch the tapes. THERE IS NO INFRINGEMENT. IT REALLY IS THAT SIMPLE
  2. No mention of magnets in the rules, rider should not move at the tapes, simple, if he drops the clutch too soon he will of either moved or go through the tapes. However if he anticipates the magnet and releases the clutch, and neither moves until then or touches the tapes, he cannot have been deemed to have an unfair advantage. PERFECT TIMING should not be penalised. You are so spot on
  3. Must have said it on here a 100 times If the rider does not move , and does not touch the tapes, THERE IS NO INFRINGEMENT. A rider that gets out of the tapes fast, is just that, he is a very good starter. Referees should stop interpreting this rule, it does not need interpretation,
  4. Can just see Man Utd, centre half in GREEN, Winger in RED, a back in PURPLE etc etc., just so the fan can recognise the rider without looking at the No on his back. A team look is about being professional, and looking part of a team. Alright in an idividual meeting but not in a ream event.
  5. Nowt like 'DRY ICE', no additives needed
  6. The B&G was booked on this date by the The Berwick Bandits Supporters Club, who had to cancel due to the promotion booking Marshall Meadows on the same date. One would think after BBSC running the end of season do for the last few years the promotion should have talked to them just in case there was a clash. As Screm said nothing on tickets about food
  7. Saw Jye yesterday, says he flying on 23rd Oct. To behonest don't actually know the date of End of Season Do, as when I saw where it was I ruled it out.
  8. Was told no buffet Norm, meet the riders and music. Will not be going myself going out to Marshall Meadows doesn't suit me, B&G same capacity but, plus the bar, £15 plus taxis there and back and £4.50 a pint, expensive night out just to get pissed. I believe Nick & Jye will be back in OZ, so not many riders
  9. I would imagine there are lots available, as it is out at Marshall Meadows. Try Lisa Youngman at Youngmans Carpets, £15 per ticket no buffet this year for that.
  10. Must be because he doesn't fiddle his expenses, unlike his opposition. Now that may be why speedway is in such a terrible state, too many promoters fiddling the expenses to run speedway, but keeping it for themselves instead of re-investing
  11. Speedway must be in a bad way if you are comparing it with 'The Flip Flop Queen' Teresa May, like the Conservative Party, speedway is nailing it's own coffin. The more nails they nail in the harder it is to get out of the coffin
  12. You are right, but they are starting to get it back, problem is only about 4 teams, main ones are Pardubice, Praha, Pilzen and Slany
  13. We seem to be worried about Denmark, Sweden and Poland, so we must be in serious trouble. Czech had to make massive changes even in how the meeting is run and the amount of riders on a ,night , however they did it and speedway is starting to recover, they are starting to go back to to the traditional structure now
  14. Tuesday and Thursday, but if their main day is Tuesday then I suppose the alternative is the Thursday along with Monday for The Premiership . I am not sure why it is Premier not a massive difference between the 2 top tiers although the 2nd tier always seems to suffer because of the problems created in the top tier. There is an opportunity now to bring everything together as one product and sort out the problems, as it strengthens, then consideration could be given to split back into 2 products. At the moment the top 2 tiers are fragmenting and becoming less and less attractive to the paying public, and without the paying public keeping it going, IT'S GONE.
  15. Best bet way if there are 2 leagues would be Monday/ Tuesday Premiership and Friday / Saturday Championship, freeing up Wednesday / Thursday and Sunday for riders who ride in Sweden, Denmark and Poland. Might not be a bad thing to use all of the available riders from all 3 leagues, they may be lesser riders and a lot of the overpaid big hitters causing the financial problem will depart and allow speedway to recover. By making it more of an Amateur speedway, will take the financial pressure off the clubs, and help them recover and grow. There is no doubt drastic changes in the way speedway is run need to take place in November. It is unlikely to change in my opinion, as speedway is like an old dinosaur, run by dinosaurs who have tinkered at the edges for years, generally changed little and in most cases making it worse.
  16. With the amount of teams who may not be running next year, the only common sense decision is to run one league. The so called Premier league (Elite) has been pandered too for far to long, to the detriment of the better run 2nd tier Championship league. The race rules need a drastic overall and massively simplified, and need to stop pandering to the riders and involve the fans more, after all no paying fans, no speedway.
  17. Is speedway a job ? I rode Enduro for Yamaha representing Wales as well, it was a hobby. If there is not enough money in just speedway, then get a job to care for your own needs then any income from speedway can subsidise your hobby. Isn't that how it used to be, you have riders in the 3rd tier and the 2nd tier especially think they are superstars whos demands on the sport are unrealistic. This year because of doubling up as turned the play offs into a total farce Looking at it from the riders point of view is killing the sport, too much self importance. Design a set of rules and implement them
  18. Doubling up is a travesty, and should be stopped immediately, NO RIDER SHOULD IN 2 LEAGUES, LET ALONE 3
  19. Didn't think Bridger was a good choice , proved to be right, more about him than any injury. Wouldn't touch Garrity with a 10 ft bargepole, ask the Seffield Promotion, apart from that he aint been that good this season. If you want someone from Redcar has to be Ben Barker, but he loves it at Redcar
  20. See you all there, after speedway party on Sat night, GIMLET DISCO BAR, just up from THE EURO HOTEL , 2100 hrs till o5.00 hrs. HAPPY DAYS
  21. We dont have any of these problems at Berwick
  22. I always liked Keith,I suppose it's a Workington thing, local guy does well doesn't go down well, we have the same problem in Berwick, Berwick folk cannot stand another Berwicker to do well
  23. Is the nature of a Cumbrian, would argue with themselves in an empty room
  24. Think Berwick would be dead in the water if it was not on a Saturday night, an occasional mid week is OK but not on a regular basis.
