  1. If I were a ref, I would fluctuate my release, might be 10secs next time 15secs then perhaps 20 secs, Would certainly have to hold until the tapes were released
  2. You know as I do Dave, the problem lies with the BSPA being a private club, setting it's own rules, and if you don't follow the private clubs rules you are not allowed to join or are excluded from the club. If you are not in the club you cannot run speedway in the UK, as it as a closed shop. All riders are self employed, so under UK law should be able to ply their trade to whom ever they decide, and not be restricted by the private club rules.
  3. On the badges, just been given a Berwick Bandits badge, with a 1985 bar on it. He asked me to give it to someone who collects them
  4. There is also another group coming up straight behind them, Flint, Mcgurk brothers, Palin, Edwards, just to mention a few. watch out for Leon Flint , 15 in February and already moved up to 500s, 2015 125 British champion, 2016 and 2017 British 250 champion
  5. When you get to my age, most are under a certain age
  6. Oh dear !. I think it is time to scrap the tapes, and get a man with a flag
  7. To anticipate is part of a thought process, you take a judgement, some riders are good at it, some not so good. Luck is just hoping for the best and getting away with it.or not.
  8. Surely, anticipation is a real art it must be deemed as perfect judgement, any idea that a rider is not anticipating is total nonsense, if he did not anticipate, he would be left at the tapes.
  9. They have announced there will be a hog roast on the night.
  10. Yeah, but they make Vodka with whats left over
  11. here we go again, SPEEDWAY IS A SIMPLE SPORT. the rules are over complicated and in many cases not totally necessary in their current form. Seven riders per team. 15 heats of 4 riders. Four riders set off together go anti clockwise for four laps keep turning left. The first rider over the line is the winner and earns 3 points, the other riders are awarded points accordingly 2nd, 3rd, 4th. The team with the most points at the end of the meeting is the winner. No T/Rs or T/subs needed, that is just manipulation of the result.
  12. It really is a simple sport, as far as rules are concerned Four riders leave the tapes without an infringement, go as fast as you can, keep turning left for four laps, avoid knocking each other off, first over the line is the winner, JOB DONE. If a rider has not moved at the tapes, anticipates the magnet and lets the clutch go, (does not matter how many fractions of a second) does not touch the tapes. THERE IS NO INFRINGEMENT. IT REALLY IS THAT SIMPLE
  13. No mention of magnets in the rules, rider should not move at the tapes, simple, if he drops the clutch too soon he will of either moved or go through the tapes. However if he anticipates the magnet and releases the clutch, and neither moves until then or touches the tapes, he cannot have been deemed to have an unfair advantage. PERFECT TIMING should not be penalised. You are so spot on
  14. Must have said it on here a 100 times If the rider does not move , and does not touch the tapes, THERE IS NO INFRINGEMENT. A rider that gets out of the tapes fast, is just that, he is a very good starter. Referees should stop interpreting this rule, it does not need interpretation,
  15. Can just see Man Utd, centre half in GREEN, Winger in RED, a back in PURPLE etc etc., just so the fan can recognise the rider without looking at the No on his back. A team look is about being professional, and looking part of a team. Alright in an idividual meeting but not in a ream event.
  16. Nowt like 'DRY ICE', no additives needed
  17. The B&G was booked on this date by the The Berwick Bandits Supporters Club, who had to cancel due to the promotion booking Marshall Meadows on the same date. One would think after BBSC running the end of season do for the last few years the promotion should have talked to them just in case there was a clash. As Screm said nothing on tickets about food
  18. Saw Jye yesterday, says he flying on 23rd Oct. To behonest don't actually know the date of End of Season Do, as when I saw where it was I ruled it out.
  19. Was told no buffet Norm, meet the riders and music. Will not be going myself going out to Marshall Meadows doesn't suit me, B&G same capacity but, plus the bar, £15 plus taxis there and back and £4.50 a pint, expensive night out just to get pissed. I believe Nick & Jye will be back in OZ, so not many riders
  20. I would imagine there are lots available, as it is out at Marshall Meadows. Try Lisa Youngman at Youngmans Carpets, £15 per ticket no buffet this year for that.
  21. Must be because he doesn't fiddle his expenses, unlike his opposition. Now that may be why speedway is in such a terrible state, too many promoters fiddling the expenses to run speedway, but keeping it for themselves instead of re-investing
  22. Speedway must be in a bad way if you are comparing it with 'The Flip Flop Queen' Teresa May, like the Conservative Party, speedway is nailing it's own coffin. The more nails they nail in the harder it is to get out of the coffin
  23. You are right, but they are starting to get it back, problem is only about 4 teams, main ones are Pardubice, Praha, Pilzen and Slany
