  1. Here you go Norm A TEAM IN DEPTH Summers 7.98 Doolan 6.36 Howe 6.18 Ethridge 5.06 Jacobsen 6.50 Dane 5.00 Swede 5.00 =-------------------- 42.08 you could switch Ethridge with Gappmair as he is more in control of his machinery, less likely to be out because of an accident
  2. Did he not have a major injury at the beginning of last season, spent most of season out, came back a little too early. To be fair I spoke to someone in Czech Fed last week, he said not really anything coming through at the moment, but a few coming through the ranks
  3. OK for a No 3 or 5, I would have signed Spud 4 or 5 years ago, I think he will just about hold is average, surel;y the trick is to find someone who will increase their average. Would have gone for Kus instead of Summers
  4. That will be because you have to be aware in the first place Well it looks like the top of our team will be 2nd strings, so I really hope No6 & No7 are the very best available, even there some of the cream has been lapped up. The only hope is Scott & Co are thinking out of the box and going for some foreign riders not in the available list.
  5. Who said he was here to sign for Berwick, the Edbergs are visiting Berwick, they like Berwick. Do you remember when I posted this "MICHAL MAKOVSKY" just that nothing else. Holy hell kicked off, what are you saying about Michal, whats he done to you, you just dont like him. The reality was Michal and myself got on well and still do, I sponsored his eyewear for 10 years.
  6. I know you are probably right, but, how I wish you were wrong
  7. Under 16 you are a Minor, and cannot enter a contract. I am not sure what the arrangement is about the NL training fee, but I am assuming that a higher league can sign him, and he could become their asset as long as the training fee is paid. In saying all of this , I believe the asset base is a nonsense, and if the BSPA were not a private club, assets would not stand up in employment law if ever challenged.
  8. I need to correct the above:- As Leon is under 16 he cannot be an asset of any club, I have been informed there is an unwritten rule, that when you move to a higher league, the club pays the NL a training fee based on the riders average per point
  9. No reason if Leon wants to ride for Berwick, he will ride for Berwick, his decision only. Remember he is only 15 in February, so can only ride at NL level next season, Birmingham will give him that ideal start. I know I have a bias, but if it goes the way it should do, he may be too good for Berwick ( sorry my Berwick pals, I want the best for Leon). Sometimes riding for your local club is not always a good thing for the rider, it can hold them back.
  10. Rules were changed about 2 to 3 years ago, if you sign for a NL club you are their asset. I think it was done because the NL club brought on the young riders and when they moved up to PL level they lost out on their investment in the rider. And a good thing too, but there should really be know assets as they are all self employed. , and no retainers are paid. I know, but we have nothing else to talk about at the moment, and he is very much a Berwick lad, working in the pits on a Saturday when he is not riding, you could say adding to his knowledge for the future.
  11. A massive well done to Leon Flint, becoming a Birmingham asset, I think with the new management set up at Birmingham, this is an ideal launch pad for Leons future speedway prospects. I really enjoy sponsoring Leon and am proud to have Taffys Time Machine on his bike, he really is one of the most appreciative speedway riders I have dealt with, especially from someone so young. This young lad knows what he wants and will do his very best to achieve it. Question for you all. WHY NOT SPONSOR LEON, Does not matter how small or large that may be, every little helps, to Leon he appreciates equally whether its a £10 or a £1000 sponsorship.
  12. Surely back handers have been indemic for years in the world of speedway
  13. Fer foofs sake, I am damned sure that George will do his best to maintain speedway in Newcastle, and if he does not, it will not be for the want of trying.
  14. Love Roy, cannot understand a word mind, that applied to Mrs Barrie also.
