  1. At least 6 of those are not riding in the CL, leaves one per team, by not having that rule it allowed the richer clubs to sign 2 No1s, depriving over half the league of a No1 rider, creating 2 leagues within one the top 5 against each other and the bottom 6 in the other half. CRAZY CRAZY just puts off the paying fan, of course unless speedway does not need paying members of the public. Cook------Grajczonek-----Holder------Howarth ?---------Lambert------Masters------not doing CL
  2. If only the BSPA had the common sense when they set rules for 2018, rules should apply across the board for all leagues. It should be one sport with one set of rules, the stupidity of not setting the rule from the PL of one rider over an eight point average to CL, was a crazy decision with the consequence of creating a massive unfair advantage within the CL.
  3. I believe Matej has signed for a Polish club, not totally sure on that, if so out of the equation for Newcastle
  4. Simple, would have had to drop one of the over 8 pointers
  5. All of the problems have arisen because of the peculiar set of rules that apply in speedway. Unlike most sports who have one rule book for their sport, football for instance, has a set of 17 basic rules which are applied throughout football from a junior level to an international level throughout the world. In speedway in the UK we have a set of rules for The Premiership, a set of rules for the Championship and shock horror, yet another set of rules for The National League and that' only in the UK. This year a sensible rule was applied to the Premiership that each club was only allowed one rider over an eight point average, this rule was not applied to the Championship. This massive error, enabled rich clubs to sign at least two riders over that eight point average, depriving less wealthy clubs the availability of those riders services. This in reality split the Championship into 2 leagues the top 4 or 5 clubs with two No1s, and the other 6 clubs. You cannot blame any club for taking advantage of the situation, you can blame the rule makers for making a total ar*e of the job. So the conclusion which ever team comes 5th or 6th in the League are the actual winners, as the top 4 teams will have purchased their position.
  6. It is imperative that Newcastle run in 2018. I need my cuddles with Mrs E when they come up to Berwick
  7. Aye !, look around any speedway stadium, the vast majority are in their dotage, youngsters come along until about 15/16 then they find out the right arm is used for and want to be with their mates on the weekend enjoying themselves.
  8. Probably agree, he will be No1, the problem is, he is not a No1 he is a heat leader at best
  9. Ones left not riding in Championship Talented yes, baggage big time, cannot carry riders with that type of attitude
  10. 1 is the problem 3 or 5 should be Summers position, very much a 2nd or 3rd heat leader
  11. Only my opinion of course we have 1 ? 8.23 2. Howe 3. Summers 4. Doolan 5. ? Busk Jacobsen 6.50 6. Etjheridge 7. ? Bowtell 2.19
  12. Not with this Government pal, but they have been honouring the repayments until now, I would not trust this lot not to wriggle out of the obligation, but for now they are. I suppose it's a bit like the road fund licence, it supposed to be spent on roads, who really knows how they spent our money. Anyway all of this is distracting us from the annual speedway cock up, that allowed Championship clubs to sign two No1 riders, depriving other teams from getting one. Should be the same rule as the Premiership one rider over 8 points
  13. You will not get as far as the naughty step, if one of the Ellis family get you first
  14. If you were born before 1952, you can claim your pension at the age of 65, if you were born in 1953 you work until you are 66. a sliding scale after that, so if you were born in 1960 I think it is now 67 or 68. You are slightly out on the rest those that currently retire at 65, they have paid in and receive back what they have paid if they live to an average of around 80+. The problem is now arising in the next generation will not have paid in enough to sustain them in future retirement, to that end NI contributions need to be doubled, to achieve a reasonable pension
  15. Sean send me yours and michelles tel Nos pal, the cloud has nicked my contact list
  16. What planet are you living on, If I had to rely on the state pension I would be in big trouble, you get back what you paid in which I could not live on. My private pension the same , I paid into it and received from it plus interest. The state gives me nothing I paid through my life for everything I receive. This must not be confused with Social Security payments, which are paid for through the public purse, Pensions are not paid by the State, we pay the State a pension contribution, they look after it until we retire, then they give it back to us, it is also taxed if you are still working at the higher rate as it is classed as unearned income. I pay 40% tax on my wifes state pension, because she is a partner in the business
  17. Just thinking of the Tomicek this year, raining when we got into stadium, it progressively got worse, yet they still run the meeting till heat 16 at Marketa. They did the same in the 250 world championship only abandoned the final, it was lashing it down. What is it about UK speedway,m 'ITS SPITTING ABANDON THE MEETING'
  18. You leave The Cornhill SHY*E spreader alone, it's all he has to keep him busy until someone is unfortunate enough to employ him.
