  1. Accepted. I think the problem often on the forum is fans are always on the defensive, and read something into the post that was not said in the first place
  2. The promotion is more adept at getting sponsors for their riders at Glasgow, not so at Berwick. Better sponsorship leads to better equipment, without that type of sponsorship Spud may struggle to keep it up at Berwick. Berwick is a low paid rural economy with few sponsors let alone bigger sponsors, the larger towns and cities stand a much better chance of bigger sponsors.
  3. Summers without the money men, what will his gear be like, Jye I wonder, often see the bike in charge and not the rider, is he due a 2nd year dip, or did he get it at Edinburgh. Can Howe and Doolan improve their gear so they can move forward ????. Could it be The Gapps year to move up a peg. If we get the Havvy track NBJ and the Swede could do well, but if we get a Razor track not a chance in hell.
  4. Agree on NBJ, not at all sure on Howe or Etheridge. We dont have a No1 but if we did all he would do is need to hold his average, the other 6 must increase even if it is only slightly. Cannot see it, hope to be proved wrong, as I said we have speedway. The last 8 or 9 years I have enjpoyed the hour before speedway and the 4 hours after, the problem has been the 2 hours in the middle
  5. Dont forget 4 leagues next season NL the PL The top 5 teams in Cl and the bottom 7 teams in the CL. Have to agree, glad my team is running, not the most competitive team on paper though.
  6. Very refreshing that you are willing to come on the forum and discuss, a very well done, wish more promoters would do this
  7. I have one of those fantasies, nowt to do with speedway mind
  8. My problem is we have a set of rules for the PL another set for the CL and of course another set of rules for the NL. One sport one set of rules to cover the sport, it's a bl**dy nonsenses to have different sets of rules for the same sport.
  9. At least 6 of those are not riding in the CL, leaves one per team, by not having that rule it allowed the richer clubs to sign 2 No1s, depriving over half the league of a No1 rider, creating 2 leagues within one the top 5 against each other and the bottom 6 in the other half. CRAZY CRAZY just puts off the paying fan, of course unless speedway does not need paying members of the public. Cook------Grajczonek-----Holder------Howarth ?---------Lambert------Masters------not doing CL
  10. If only the BSPA had the common sense when they set rules for 2018, rules should apply across the board for all leagues. It should be one sport with one set of rules, the stupidity of not setting the rule from the PL of one rider over an eight point average to CL, was a crazy decision with the consequence of creating a massive unfair advantage within the CL.
  11. I believe Matej has signed for a Polish club, not totally sure on that, if so out of the equation for Newcastle
  12. Simple, would have had to drop one of the over 8 pointers
  13. All of the problems have arisen because of the peculiar set of rules that apply in speedway. Unlike most sports who have one rule book for their sport, football for instance, has a set of 17 basic rules which are applied throughout football from a junior level to an international level throughout the world. In speedway in the UK we have a set of rules for The Premiership, a set of rules for the Championship and shock horror, yet another set of rules for The National League and that' only in the UK. This year a sensible rule was applied to the Premiership that each club was only allowed one rider over an eight point average, this rule was not applied to the Championship. This massive error, enabled rich clubs to sign at least two riders over that eight point average, depriving less wealthy clubs the availability of those riders services. This in reality split the Championship into 2 leagues the top 4 or 5 clubs with two No1s, and the other 6 clubs. You cannot blame any club for taking advantage of the situation, you can blame the rule makers for making a total ar*e of the job. So the conclusion which ever team comes 5th or 6th in the League are the actual winners, as the top 4 teams will have purchased their position.
  14. It is imperative that Newcastle run in 2018. I need my cuddles with Mrs E when they come up to Berwick
  15. Aye !, look around any speedway stadium, the vast majority are in their dotage, youngsters come along until about 15/16 then they find out the right arm is used for and want to be with their mates on the weekend enjoying themselves.
