  1. I will be happy if I am being entertained, apart from the Glasgow meeting, I can take it or leave it this season. Only been to two meetings, the enthusiasm has almost gone, I even used to enjoy filling in the programme, I can now fill the race in by bend 1&2 lap 1
  2. Careful pal you will have the Pitman Mafia family on your back
  3. Think you will find that Colin does use basic English, VERY BASIC
  4. We certainly dont' have a history in the last 8 or so years of signing an up and coming rider, certainly have signed plenty of riders on the back end of their career , so we will se Leon in Berwick colours in about 15 to 20 years from now
  5. Couple of riders around Leons age that I think are good prospects, also a few younger ones on 125s and 250s that are coming on nicely. In the also rans I think Kyle is the nearest to leon in age, just over a year older, the way Leon has handled the progression is impressive, steady as you go one stage at time, even now he has set as sensible target at Birmingham, although he is exceeding it, he still maintains his sensible target.
  6. I think the Under 21s was a predictable meeting. almost 4 camps, Lambert camp 1. Bewley, Grieves, Mountain etc camp 2 , also ran's camp 3 and also also ran's in camp 4. Leon has his head screwed on not bad for a speedway rider, understands his capabilities but strives to be better,
  7. At 15 he has a whole year at NL level, at that point probably time to look at his aims
  8. I would say if Leon wants to ride for Berwick then so be it. My belief is however, is he is a better rider than that and aim for the best deal to further his speedway career . If he continues in the way he has at Birminhgham then all of the senior clubs will be queuing up to do a deal with him, for his sake he must ignore any sentiment.
  9. I wasn't there on Saturday so not really able to comment too much. Here is my problem, the week before against Glasgow, the track preparation was really good, very slick but that's speedway nowadays, our riders rode it and attacked it brilliantly. So they prepare a track that suits our riders then change it the following week to a track that does not suit them, WHY ? The weather was brilliant there was no forecast for rain, the track could have been watered and packed every day, as there was football on the Saturday, nominal track prep on the Saturday morning until 12.00. Reminds me of the World under 21s meeting, track was spot on, some of the best racing I have seen at Berwick, one week later one of the worst prepared tracks I have ever seen.r
  10. Jokes aside, the little buffet is supplied by the Black and Gold for everyone who comes into B&G afterwards. A lovely gesture from the owners to ALL fans for coming in, as Norm said hope you enjoyed
  11. £15 for those on The Social, your Cornhill Stage Coach leaves at 17.30 hrs
  12. You eating in Cornhill shop, very nice very nice, mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
  13. I am hoping by mentioning it, other fans will think he is worth sponsoring. It's a damned expensive sport, and they need every bit of help, I should perhaps waste my money on a rider that rides for another club, rather than the one I support. I look above snide comments from an odd fan, as I know the vast majority of Brummie fans are fantastic bunch of fans. What should be remembered is it is due to riders sponsors that the rider is able to ride for your club, and on going support allows them competitive equipment.
  14. Am proud to sponsor Leon Flint, and am really pleased about his first performance at Birmingham. He will get a lot better as the season goes on, I promise you that, very confident on his machinery and very confident in his ability to improve. This is a rider who needs no pressure, he will do that himself. TAFFY
  15. Considering the financial situation at Newcastle, they are lucky to be running, and the fans should be pleased at that
  16. Scott, I dont know much about Edinburgh set up, but worth investigating. I was hoping all of the problems of the recent past were out of the window, with Scott & Jamie in charge, a better rapport would be happening. It appears that the old demands have returned, instead of working for the benefit of the club in a harmonious way. I would never dream of picking an arguament with my customers, it would only me that would be the loser.
  17. I absolutely agree with you. You would think that the Promotion would be pleased that Berwick has a successful Supporters Club, and it doesn't matter how they allocate their hard earned money, it all helps to the success of the club.. I fear that this blow up, is more about Control, rather than common sense.
  18. Aye, but you cannot blame the fan for poor management, and you cannot blame the fan when poor management depletes the entertainment. I still think if Scott had continued in the way he said he would, there was a possibility of success, it does appear however that recent history has reappeared, and it does make you ask the question 'who is pulling the strings'
  19. Which all comes from the paying fan, it is therefore the paying support that pay the riders wages and the Promotion manage that money. Sponsorship is significant to a rider I would probably look in the region of about 33%
  20. Speaking to a solicitor the other night, if a name has been used constantly for a period of time, the name becomes established in it's own right, and does not infringe 'copyright' As ' Berwick Bandits Supporters Club' have been going for about 50 years, using that name , it is now established and has no need to change it's name. The supporters club do a brilliant job in what they do, if you are helping the riders you are helping the club. Speedway has always been established on a combination of wages and sponsorship, if the rider loses any form of sponsorship the onus is then placed on the club to make up the difference, so any form of rider sponsorship should be welcomed by the club. As the 2 new owners are ex riders, they should have a better understanding of that than most people, as they will have relied on that individual sponsorship in the past
  21. However the track was much better last season because of him, it worries me that the track will return to the crap we had for the previous 8 years.
