  1. Were we gating well, or Scunny gating badly. The meeting for me, apart from Auty, TEAR GAS Definately not going next week
  2. I suppose it comes down to how hungry the riders are for a win, I think you are probably right though, at least I hope so
  3. Heres a question. as weak as Scunny is at the moment , will they turn Berwick over tonight. I believe they are preparing the track really heavy for tonight.
  4. My point is with hot weather like this it needs soaking every day not just Friday and Saturday, and in the late evening not during the day, as it will evaporate before it has had chance to soak to the base.. On Scotts statement, the one thing I am not getting is the entertainment
  5. Not really, it does take extra effort mind. Soak it and pack it Monday evening followed by the same Tuesday, Wednesday , Thursday and Friday, then normal track prep on a Saturday morning, that should get enough water down to the base, no good doing it in the daytime, as it will evaporate too quickly
  6. Chris, I can count on one hand how many meetings I have missed in 20 plus years, this season I can take it or leave it.
  7. The point was, that because he was here, he was a massive influence on how the track was prepared, which improved the entertainment for the last half of last season, just wished the club had continued with it instead of letting those standards slip
  8. Totally agree Chris, it's why I have missed meetings, have been happy enough to watch anything they threw at me, you know what people call the true fan. However there comes a time when a club doesn't learn the lessons and serve up poor entertainment, time to think twice about it. I had such great hopes last season, especially after they signed Morris, but it as quickly reverted to what we have had to put up with in previous seasons. Roll on the Tiddlywinks championship pure entertainment in comparison. Whats the difference between this years track prep and last years track prep Ans:- NICK MORRIS
  9. Hes also was giving free beer at any of the Scottish games, wasnt the £1.50 just for Carling lager
  10. B & G 3.00 for Bell Haven Bitter, Grove £2.90 for same, had a lovely pint of Black beer in Ortella (think that's how it spelt) £3. 10
  11. I did it when Edinburgh were here, totally enjoyed my night didn't miss speedway at all, can see how easy it is to find something else to do on Saturday
  12. Blo*dy hope not, the town center emptied between 2.00 & 3.00 like a wet Wednesday in January.
  13. It did when he said it the home team had to pay some of the visitors point money, I believe it was £25 per point. The rules have changed, I believe the the gate money from a home meeting has to cover the whole of an away meeting as well, it works out the same anyway, bust cuts out the admin side of paying visitors.
  14. Calculator must be faulty, Hee Hee. Remember John Anderson in a fans meeting claiming it cost £11,500 to actually run a meeting
  15. I had a go at Peter many times, always to his face in first instance, sometimes he listened, you always knew when your argument had been won ho sloped off
  16. After he sold the bike shop in Foulford to Archy Meldrum, he bought the Hen & Chickens and The Castle Hotel, he also started up Bedrocks and ran it on a % for a consortium of local businessmen. All had gone before he took over speedway
  17. The unemployed should get a job, if you are on social you should not be able to afford luxuries
  18. Probably a 1/3 of the paying adults would be paying £11 and not £15, that would bring the total down to about £8.500
  19. Even when PW was in charge, you needed 750 paying adults to break even
  20. Its not the pressure placed on him, but the pressure to the rider wanting to do well in front of a home crowd. As said he is a good prospect, for his sake hope he gets where he wants to be, through is efforts for which ever team he rides for. His speedway career should always take priority, to achieve that loyalty to a local club should go out of the window, unless of course he can benefit from it
