  1. I see the Glasgow match didnt take place as the flood lights failed. So while Kent were being trounced by Eastbourne, Danny Ayres was twiddling his thumbs. Even more frustrating for him, Kent Management, Kent fans and any other fans. Shame really as he may well have added a be of a spark last night even if not changing the result much.
  2. Cant you drive straight to the track?
  3. I would like to see them get even tougher on getting back to the start for a restart of a race (due to a jumped start). There should be a 30 second warning to get back to the gates
  4. Funny old thing sport!! As we were arriving at the stadium Friday (prior to me ruining a wheel on the church street width restriction!) we were saying what we would be happy with from the meeting and decided that a 6 point loss would be great, 8 points a bit scary but to lose by ten would be poo pants time! In the end, we left disappointed after winning y 4! For a match that lacked overtaking it was certainly entertaining and I enjoyed it as a whole, even the Kent fightback. Seriously, I would have been much happier had we could have taken the 12 point lead to Arlo but any win must put Eastie in the driving seat. I have seen no explanation for Adam Ellis second half being so below par (for him). How can someone get the track record, followed by a win and then struggle after? And was heat 15 the first last he has run all season (other than DNFs) Been doing this a lot lately, saying nice things about other teams but I do like the Kent team, the stadium and the fans. If the do beat us, I may go to Kent and support them in the play off final. However, I think Birmingham may be too strong for either of us over the two legs.
  5. Come on Buxton. Routing for you down here in Blue Rinse land
  6. Lost interest now. Both great teams with riders that I like so its hard to really care enough. I think I will watch and get behind Belle Vue. It has saddened me to see a Historic Club like Belle Vue not have any real success over recent years so for that reason, I will support them in the Play Offs. And I think for a change, I will be supporting the team that wins!!.
  7. Just like they did Nicki Pedersen, until he rode for us. I think with riders like Danny it more that people 'love' to hate them than actually hate them. He is entertaining and shows emotion. He is 100% entertainment and the stick the Eastie fans give him (Small section of them) is just pantomime stuff, they love him really.
  8. After the second time of reading, I have to say what a great post. If its sincere - great. If its sarcastic - still great.
  9. Maybe because of the clash with the GP. Not sure how much difference it makes but they generally steer clear of running on GP nights. Shame for anyone that cant come
  10. Best wishes to Nicki. My favourite ever Eagle and one of the most entertaining riders in my 47 years of watching speedway. Yeh, I sometimes have to admit he pushes the boundaries of clean racing but still love the guy. Get well soon Nicki
  11. Really looking forwards to it and the great thing is, its the second leg so we will know on the night if we will progress. Ours being the 7th I would guess the Kent leg will be Monday the 3rd but that's not been announced as far as I can see.
  12. Could not agree more. And that's from an Eastbourne fan. I get them, I understand them but I hate them. Eastbourne lost to Wolves in the first playoff final after winning the league. The aftermath of the race when Wolves took it was the worst I have ever felt at a speedway match. Yes, I want Eastbourne to win the play offs. Yes, I want to beat Birmingham in the final but just a little part of me will wish we had topped the league. At least we dont have the double point tactical rule as well.
  13. I am not sure a forum is the best place to get the facts!! No offence to the previous posted, who may well be correct.
  14. So assuming you are right and apart from Eastie and Kent possibly being the other way around, you probably are, who will Brum chose for the semi final? Belle Vue I would guess. So, who will be in the final?
  15. Yeh, I agree. The only advantage is to come top as you get to pick who you ride against in the semi final. Looks like a Kent semi final for us.
  16. Second half of the meeting was great. Great format that makes it very close. when the teams are well matched. PA was rubbish. Shame half the stands were closed. We go there late due to traffice and could not really see a spot where our group could have sat together but lots of empty cordoned off seats! Shuttleworth got what he deserved and I say that one one clear reason. Fisty cuffs are one thing and in the hig drama of a meeting like that I can see how you can get like it. Ellis had already came under him pretty hard coming out of turn 4 and then took him off at turn two (although I feel Shuttleworth may have had a bit of a locker, I would never argue the decision) but the reason I have such an issue and feel the ban from the meeting was correct was the fact that Ellis was dragged out, pretty much, when he was still on the deck under his bike. He could have had a broken back for all Shuttleworth knew and his actions could have put Ellis in a wheel chair. If Ellis had bee on his feet then I would have said darg them apart and give Shuttleworth a £50 fine and let him ride on! Ahhhh, gutted about the last race. I went there thinking Eastbourne would win easy. Then I got less sure as other teams were doing so well. When Jake Night won his heat and all we had was Adam Ellis in the last race needing to win I started working out my celebration dance!! Well, thats speedway I guess. Fair play to Rye House. Seriously! To win a meeting that they were not even entered for originally is just brilliant. Pleased for the riders and their fans! (said while looking down at the dirt and kicking my feet around in it!)
  17. Just found where I saw it. Mind you, this comes from the BSPA website so probably not correct lol! http://www.speedwaygb.co/nlfours
  18. It seems that Coventry supply a couple of reserves for all teams. I cannot remember where I heard or saw this but I am sure I did
  19. I really hope Kent get their problems sorted with quick returns from injury or good replacements. I am an Eastbourne fan and despite the obvious local rivalry, I have really enjoyed Kent's success this season it would be seriously rotten to see that fall away with injuries.. Good luck and health to all.
  20. Saturdays have always been my preference. Means you have the day time Saturday and Sunday to do other things but Sunday pm meetings rule out any other plans for Sundays.
  21. Apparently, he did a wheelie and went of the back in the pits. Bad femur break I have heard. Its a bike Martin built for Tom, I think.
  22. Because people love to make what they believe are clever comments. Most the time they no very little about the people they are talking about.
  23. That was a good meeting and the result could have gone either way. Brum will feel unlucky due to two falls while in good positions and a pretty poor guest that you would expect better from. Ditto for Eastbourne, so that evened out. Real shame to lose Tom like that. Connor and Martin had put NO presure whatsoever on him and told him just to enjoy himself. Gotta say, Brum and Kent look the ones to beat. \looking really good.
  24. Mmmm, looking forwards to a good match with good racing and crossing fingers for a home win I would think. Lets be honest, all fans worry a bit when they are feilding a weakened team against the team at the top of the league!
