I agree. I really dont know if the draft idea is a good one or a bad one. It certainly weakens the league. But we have had problems with the Elite League and Speedway at World Championship level for ages and this shows that they have done something to try and fix both. I hope it works.

Take out Gustafsson and add Nilson and that will be the team I think

It does seem like we have the same discussion every year and the fans seem to think we need some major changes but the promoters just make minor ones. I would like to see costs to the riders cut (hence, to the clubs). Maybe something like only 5 engines aloud per rider for the season and maybe, only standard engines with little or no tuning aloud. May also get closer racing that way.

I have to say I feel for Lakeside not getting through to the playoffs. They have been hit by injury just at the wrong time. I just wish Eastbourne had not gifted the Poole premier league select team 4 points when they came to Arlington. It was annoying enough that we lost our unbeaten home record that night and even worse that the 4 points Poole gained is the difference between getting in the playoffs.

Well what a great afternoon. Ok, the racng was not that great but the stadium is and the track looked fine. I have pretty much decided the Kent Kings will b my second team after Eastbourne. With the amount of fixtures at Arlo now, at least I can get up to see the Kings on a Monday. Congrats to everyone who got this going. Ditto about thelack of PA on one and two, It really needs something there.

All in all, not a great night! Racing was good at the end but just sobering that Nicki and Darcy are hurt and worse of all Emil losing his Dad. As a son, I do not belive there could be a better way to honor him that win a GP. I hope he does not do himself in becauehe was not there. I am sure there is only one place hisDad would have wanted him to be.

I have to disagree with you. Comparing speedway to football is like comparing a MOUSE to a Lion! Its completely different. Seriously, I have to agree with you. You cannot compare a minority motorcycle sport to Football.

What the hell are they saying by that statement? That's they lied and it was an error of judgement or that there was a leak but they could have run the match. If they are really saying that they did lie and there was not a leak they should be thrown out of management and the match should be re-run without the riders that were not available.....if it can be shown that was the case.

I really hope that BV prove to be innocent over this. I feel sorry for the fans. They have finally had something to cheer about with a good start to the season and this happens. If BV are guilty and it is proven that they had riders unavailable then I think they should have 6 points or so deducted and made to race the match using the riders that were available to them last night. Regarding whether this could or cant be a water main, well of course it can. Someone on here suggested that water mains are high pressure and would cause a lot of flooding. Well that is not always the case. Some water mains only have around 1 bar and they can have anything from a small trickle to quite a flood. It is possible that the leak would not have been noticed until the ground was sodden and then it could take a while to work out where its coming from and what to turn off. I am not saying they are innocent but just trying to make the point that they could be. sorry about my paragraphing but my enter key wont work in this post!!

Blimey, people do like to jump on peoples backs dont they? I will be honest, I really dont like Darcy a great deal but he should be judged by what he does on the track. You will always get great sportman that are idiots off the track whether it be drink, drugs, fame or whatever. James Hunt, Alex Higgins, George Best. Do people really think that Speedway is going to have less fans next year because Darcy Ward rode a 50cc bike home from the park to his house when he saw the Police.....oh, and he had had a joint! Shock Horror!! If he had had a drink and a joint on the day of a match, then Ban him. If he gets in to a fight at the stadium while representing the Pirates, Ban him A little bit of naughty stuff back home in Aus should not affect his carreer in any way at all, as much as I would like it to!

Absolutely no doubt Holder should have been excluded and the thugs that started on Nicki should have been marched out of the stadium. Its one thing whn riders have a go at each other in the heat of the moment but completely unacceptable when thuggish pit crew, family and friends start. Shame really because I feel Chris is aq worthy winner of the title but it was tainted by an awful ref desision and thugs on the track. As for those trying to say Nicki was the one who should have been excluded...thats a joke. Yes, he tried to clamp Chris. Thats the sensible thing to do when Chris had been clearly faster all night. If anything Chris came acroos a bit on Nicki out of the gate. Dont think for onre miniute that Chris took Nicki off on purpose but he def should have been out.

Brilliant from the Danes, Brilliant from Nicki. I am so glad the JOKE rule did not decide the world title. Maybe the powers that be will realise what a JOKE it is now. I think the fact that Nicki did it and so many people on here support what he did shows he was right to do it. More than any other rider people love to get on Nicki;s back and the fact that it is pretty even, if not more for him shows that most fans think the Joker rule is a joke!! Yes its good when it works for you but even when it does, dont you just have a feeling inside that you dont deserve the points you get from it. Denmark were better than Aus all night and if they had lost by a point or two it would have been crazy. Well done the Danes!!

I will certainly be paying more than the £10 entrance for this. Its a sad day today with Lee's funeral. I shall be going up to the gates of the Crematorium to to see him in and then making it down to Arlo this afternoon. I hope there is a good turn out.
