  1. As I stated in my first post. So whoever signs Garrity, Worrall, Kerr, Wright, et. al. aren't benefitting then? Just Poole cheating by utilizing their own assets. I have no issues with Howarth, actually having become friends in with him and his dad Geoff when Kyle rode for the Bucs. Not close friends, but always have a chat when we bump into each other around the tracks. My point was over the understanding of the regulation. Unfortunately the 'blinkered against Poole' brigade just use it as another excuse for slagging off.
  2. .... and that is why they are putting out a list defining the heat leaders, and therefore by elimination from that list, the second strings. OK they haven't gone to the point of changing averages but they are attempting to keep the balance of teams. With the fast track riders some of them have achieved 7 to 8 point averages last year which would have eliminated them from any EL team place in 2016. Anyway why is this hypocrisy? Do you actually understand the meaning of the word.
  3. Surely he must come in on his EL average of 5.53. The converted PL calculation was brought in for last years fast track rides who's averages were inflated by the race format for reserves. Howarth wasn't a reserve and attained a genuine EL average.
  4. But why no announcement yet when others are? Was there a draft?
  5. Tend to agree with the riders around. I've looked at the final green sheets and struggled to find 24 riders you would call heat leaders to cover the 8 teams. Just hope there's an influx of 'new' riders in 2016, but that said we already know we're going to lose others.
  6. Would (like everybody) like to see this list of 'heat leaders'. North and Kurtz as second strings would keep me happy, then see what we've got left to play with. Fear with the poor standard that Dakota may be on the secret list.
  7. What a coincidence that you should post now. Just popped into your antique shop yesterday on my way back from Swanage only to be told that you weren't running it any more. Nice to have you back on the forum Steve. Already reeling them in ...............
  8. Do you write children's fiction? You make a lot of supposition about what you think Matt Ford has done, thinks, says, proposes and so forth with nothing, outside of your mind, to substantiate it. Have you ever met and spoken to the guy? You seem to know so much about him.
  9. Just to say how friendly the Aces fans were last night. Bit of banter, only to be expected, but nothing like the vitriol on this forum. Then again that is mainly from supporters of other clubs. Good luck with the new stadium guys and gals. Shame the old H & S put the kibosh on the track walk.
  10. I have made a similar post on the Poole v Coventry thread, but refer to the article in last week's Speedway Star Page 10, right hand column. Think the fifth paragraph is directed at you guys.
  11. I can't believe this thread is still going, so I went into it to see why. My better half tells me to keep away from all the children bickering, but guys and girls this has gone on too long. Have any of you read the Peter Oakes article on the 'Grand Final' in SS last week? If not page 10, right hand column, start say, at the third paragraph. I would point out that as a neutral, Peter Oakes has had more allegiance with Coventry than Poole over the years.
  12. Sounds like the Aussie Ashes squad landing back in Australia. You could still hear the whining even when the planes engines were switched off.
  13. So many assumptions being made without being fully aware of the facts. Good post by 'Grandstand' on the Poole site. Without all the details people tend to make opinions based on whether they are Poole or anti-Poole. My ideal scenario tonight would be a Poole win with Kennett failing to score. Looking out of my window this minute it seems the rain has picked up again so that might be the only winner tonight.
  14. Are we not past the deadline date for transfers? Is there somthing that says injury replacements can be made?
  15. Thanks Shirl. Good advice. Decided to give it a miss. Drive looks like it would be grim with all that rain moving across with us.
  16. What's the prospects then this morning from you locals and weather experts? Does look like it's improving but as usual each forecast is slightly different in timing. Really don't want a pointless journey, but who can really predict British weather.
  17. You may have been in a better position than me as I was in the elevated terrace beyond the tapes, but he reared before the finishing line and let the bike go pretty well instantaneously. Not worth debating now as it's past, but if there was someone right on the line that could confirm to satisfy my curiosity. Maybe someone has seen a video.
  18. There was no stoppage ? If we really want to be pedantic Roynan shouldn't have been awarded with third place in heat twelve, and the resultant 5-0 would have made the result a draw. The rule states, and I have checked this with a referee, that a rider must be in contact with his bike when he crosses the line. Roynan and his bike crossed the finish line in installments.
  19. I think not. As we all suspected their best bikes are not in this country.
  20. By my calculations Robins have 4.80 to play with for the fifth rider, so what does Krcmar come in on?
  21. The fact is, as has been stated many times, that whoever is losing is going to make the protest, while whoever is winning is going to accept the situation. That's what it's all about (no offence to Clive Fisher intended ). Can you imagine the furore had the situation been reversed and Poole were asking for a restaging. This forum would have gone into apoplexy with comments about cheatin' Pirates, whinging Poole, Matt Ford to be executed ........ et al.
  22. OK guys and gals this has been debated to death, with the usual predictable rubbish interspersed with some sensible and constructive comments. To get back to what speedway there was, Havvy, and we could all clearly see that it was his decision, refused to let his riders take to the track in heat 10. Two riders that were unbeaten by an opponent. Had they taken to the track and scored a 5-1 they would have denied Poole a point. Things like that have a habit of coming back to bite you in the b*m at the end of the season. Just making a point (no pun intended).
