He was on the back straight where the tannoy wasn't good and he wouldn't have got the view the home straight had...I was Sat right at the tapes and sorry to say for you that Batch didn't get it! It was close though A very good display from Berwick on a decent track that held up well considering the weather that's been had this week. There was a team much more up for it tonight and they weren't from the West Coast

Championship Predictions 2024
Bandits4eva replied to Bagpuss's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
1. Redcar 2. Glasgow 3. Berwick 4. Oxford 5. Poole 6. Scunthorpe 7. Workington 8. Edinburgh 9. Plymouth I've seen some say they like the look of Berwick... And for the first time in many seasons, so do I and many other Berwick fans! We've got a TM who won't put up with underperforming riders and a promotion who've put their trust in him! We've got a mixture of youth and experience... Just a whole improved feeling which we've lacked for a while! Kk menu Poole have a good top 4 but considerably weaker bottom end this year! Scunthorpe will miss Douglas this year IMO! How do you replace someone that good though? Oxford have one of the best top two in the league but again a weaker bottom end may find them out! Pressure on Nicholls and Masters to consistently be hitting double figures! -
Championship Predictions 2024

He isn't a Poole fan if that's what you're implying! -
They'd be stark raving bonkers to go anywhere near that knob!
-
A gap big enough for Bastian Borke....
-
Borke!
-
Mc131 is never that far off the mark! Very good acquisition if it turns out we have got him!
-
I'd take riders at Berwick with the ability to gate.... You can certainly pass at our place, we've seen that a lot over the past 2 years, but gating is half the battle! We need to ensure we win our home matches this year .. 4 and 5 losses a season at home isn't good enough! The 3 we've signed so far I am happy with
-
Poole have been hated for such a long time ... You've got a long way to go to catch up to their level
-
I could see Kerr maintaining in what should be a weakened league but not much improvement there! Rory is the one that could improve more in 2024 IMO. Was a bit of a saviour for us on the road especially with the season just gone.
-
One is a Kings Lynn fan and the other a Rye House fan.... Speedway fans going slightly off topic on a speedway forum... It happens!
-
Not far away though
-
You'll be seeing him regularly with where he's meant to be heading
-
I'd heard different about one of them... But if they both came that would be like a breath of fresh air!
-
In a lower points limit league he could potentially be one of the top riders.... I'd be trying to keep Rory, Leon and Connor Coles to start us off with.
-
Id have said it was done Peters way and they could either deal with it or not! When you think of the tonkings and the teams we beat back in those days, to see us struggle as we are now is so sad I ain't giving up my support though as it does need fans when it's going through times like this... I'll go tonight and see what Glasgow do to us
-
I've also said it... The minute Peter waite left is when we became vulnerable at home... It took a special team to beat us beforehand.... Peter knew others hated coming to Berwick so he kept conditions in such a particular way! We need to get a track that is conducive to racing... We need a team that can score points home and away... Not just rely on big home points cos as we've seen, when that doesn't happened... We're buggered!!
-
There's slick.... But that last night was as "bald as a nuns chuff"... Even he couldn't do too much on it!!
-
Now that the dust has settled (literally in the bottom of my shower).... That was not an enjoyable night at all! Shielfield Park used to be a fortress...now the only team that seem to struggle regularly are the home team. Very little dirt and what was there was a matter of 2-3 feet from the safety fence! If, as someone mentioned earlier, Kevin little is quoted as saying that the track suited the Brummies more, then as team manager what the hell is he going to do about it!! Give our team a track they can do something with! Saying that and not acting upon it is a bit of a slap in the face to those fans attending! I have said it before and I'll say it again, I can cope with losing if I'm at least being entertained in the process! But that last night was hard to watch!! (From what could be seen) The concrete base was visible from very early on... Yes, I understand the football was on and obviously not much time for on the day track prep but what about the rest of the week! We've had warmish weather in Berwick all week leading up to that and even yesterday, in between the drizzle, it was still warm! Glasgow next week are going to give us a proper arse kicking... I said to the hubby last night I genuinely don't think we will win another meeting this year.... There is a group of die hard fans at Berwick that are losing patience... A group that would travel the length and breadth of the country to watch their team... a group that are now finding home meetings a struggle...They are the group of people you can't afford to lose... And I thought 2007 would not be repeated!

Plymouth Vs Berwick 8/8/23 live BSN
Bandits4eva replied to Cast1rn's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
More than Rory clearly! Why was Ritchie Worrall shaking his head after his laps??? Leon certainly wasn't happy! It's clear Jye wasn't either!! If that track wasn't safe to ride then why should they go out! People pay their money to see riders going full throttle for 15 heats.. that wasn't going to be the case if it had went ahead!! Like Greg said, just a half arsed effort from the Plymouth promotion... Why were they not there from midday doing everything they could? -
Boxall woeful? Haway Steve... You've been around long enough to know that years out the game can have an impact... He was straight away on the pace which is encouraging.... You had Complin guesting who is the go to pick for reserve guests due to his knowledge and experience on our track.... Roynon would not have scored what Complin did! We certainly did make Poole work for it right up till heat 12! Good meeting for Rory and a pleasing debut for Hans... Nice to see that he still ain't afraid to ruffle some feathers... Endeared himself nicely!! 2 important fixtures coming up this week against Plymouth and Birmingham...need to pick up the points if we can!!
