Wow!!!! Simply wow!!! I was sitting earlier thinking this is my 20th solid year following Berwick.. I had a few years in and out in mid 90s… but Jesus Christ that was the most disappointing performance I think I have EVER seen! Nowt can be said about Leon… he had a rough come off last night and looked to be suffering a wee bit tonight but that laddy has carried our arses this year… he’s rode with pride wearing his colours and if everyone had the same attitude as him we would be laughing… But jeez… 2 heat wins all night … nah! Pure and utter piss take that!! We were 2nd beat in every department tonight! Something has to change!! Try and salvage some pride from this… just try!

A very decent showing again… Dany, I’ve been a critic of his no doubt, but being fair, his away scores have improved and last night was no different.. that’s the best he’s performed there recently. Much better from Jye too! Spud was solid but not spectacular.. I did expect a little more but that’s due to how he’s performed in the past l guess! Kasper was superb.. decent ish from the gate and fought for his points.. was going for it before his heat 15 fall… hopefully his knackers are feeling a bit less tender this morning! kyle is struggling and only managed to beat Jack Smith! Vast improvement from Leon from his last championship meeting there too.. worked hard for his points! Bit rubbishe to get so Close again and come away with nowt… getting repetitive now saying it…

Scorpions v Bandits 02.07.2021

From the updates it sounds like you had to pass us a lot of the time! So that comment sounds a bit derogatory towards us -

First team to take a point there (not including the KO Cup vs Leicester)… who’d have thought that?! It seems a case of so close again for us though… heat 13 continuing to be a torrid heat… but in general, chuffed with a point! I had us down for a right beating! -

Should be an easy Scunny win given their home form shown thus far! -
I fully expect a big impact on the crowd given the result tonight... and the fact local derbies ain’t what they once were! God I miss the times of tearing into Richard Juul.. Andre Compton..Kevin Little etc. We should win this given that it’s Barkers 1st meeting back.. and we built to have a lot more strength at home...

Berwick v Redcar Saturday 12/06/21 7pm
Bandits4eva replied to Normski's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
We will beat Newcastle.... granted.. but any other team with a decent top 2, especially if we are very tight near the end, will get us in 13 & 15. Even though Palm Toft had a mare up till heat 13, I said to the hubby that they would get us there! And so it proved! Again, IMO, the only 2 exempt from criticism are our reserves. Quite what is going on with our top 4, god only knows! But thank the Lord for a week off next week... On the Redcar team, they clearly smelt when the time was coming to get us... and Jordan Jenkins.. I admire these young British lads but is he likely to throw in another performance like that?! He could certainly tell our team how to gate, attack the track and generally hold your lead... rather like Charles Wright who produced what a no.1 should produce! We need to pull our fingers out our arses... be ruthless... doctor a track that suits us! Stop being the nicey nice brigade! Or there will be several more home defeats to come! -

Disappointing indeed when you think of the points thrown away... okay, I’ve already said Leicester we were unlucky to not get at least a point due to NBJ’s machinery issues but the collapse at Plymouth in those last 4 heats was soul destroying! Take nowt away from Plymouth, they did what they had to do, but for us to collapse in that manner was dreadful! The Poole result... well, I anticipated beforehand a 10-12 point defeat... but... and I'm really trying to think positively here, a couple of upsides to that meeting was the fact Spud showed he does know how to win as he beat Andersen and the epic performances of Kyle and Leon. Kyle hasn’t had too many plaudits thus far as he’s been overshadowed by Leon but last night for both of them was superb! Quite frankly, I’d have stuck Kyle in heat 15 too. What was there to lose... both our reserves had earned their places! Onwards to this weekend where I anticipate Redcar to really give us a stern test!

Okay..... *take a deep breath* first of all... I’m not a Leicester fan.. my name clearly states that... but I’ve got a problem with this part of your post... You talk about the Thompson twins and how they dominated in their last season racing... they’re young laddies who have worked their way up to heatleader status in NDL and have taken a massive jump into championship level... with the top 5 you have, they should be 2 that are exempt from criticism. Now... “the overrated Flint”... are you having a laugh... that laddy has worked his way up and deserves every bit of praise that he is receiving and has rightfully earned the chance to ride in Poland for Rybnik. You need to remember that this is only his 2nd full season at championship level. He’s probably had to work harder than most due to his locality... Berwick now has the facilities for the youngsters in the north but Leon has had to travel many thousands of miles over his short years in this sport... he’s worked hard to build up sponsors... he’s completely changed the way he trained and his overall fitness level is second to none... he’s got a great team behind him and is quite frankly the brightest prospect to come from North Northumberland for quite some time! So quite frankly, “the overrated Flint” is quite an insult to what that lad has actually achieved!

Glasgow away win here I feel! -
So we head back to quite a happy place for us from past results. Despite the huge size in track difference we’ve had at least 2 away wins there on recent years that I’ve had the pleasure of seeing. Following our more than decent showing at Leicester what’s the likelihood we could push for a point here. Richard Lawson guesting in place of Crumpie and Jason Edwards in place of Henry Atkins for Plymouth and Berwick continue to use rr for Coty Garcia. A lot for us will depend on which Aaron and Dany come to play. A decent showing from both and we may pull a surprise. If not, well... back to the drawing board I guess!

As I said, aside from machinery issues for NBJ then we would have taken the point at least which would have been a very pleasant shock... but still, to get as close and come away with nowt when it’s slipped by you in that manner hurts a bit! There will be more teams who take a worse defeat then us. Just think, if Aaron had scored what he did in 2019 and what he is capable of then it would be a very different story right now! anyways, sorry for the diversion on this thread. 10-12 point defeat for us I’d say! -

Well after the result at Leicester who knows what we’re capable of. Certainly should have had a point at least from there if not for machinery problems! -
