On paper we should certainly provide a challenge. Will be interesting how a couple of our boys adapt to such a small track… expect that Kasper (if riding) and Nikolaj will provide our strongest attack but You never do know with us these days -
BERWICK v PLYMOUTH (Saturday 14th -- 7pm)

I got in the car park last night and went “wow”. That was definitely to get a look at crumpy and Bjarne. They may be in their 40s but they still pull the crowds. Anyhoo, definitely the best meeting there’s been this season and that’s huge credit to Plymouth too who played their part. Crumpy improved as the meeting went on following a shocking gate in heat 1, Bjarne was solid and Ruml is definitely a handy one. Keleher and Cook looked very shaky, thankfully Danyon Hume was significantly down on his scoring of the last 2 weeks although was always looking competitive; Jason Edwards was just not on the pace. For us, whether it was because Plymouth struggled or what, but that is the best we have looked all year. There were lines to be used and our lot used them.. Leon certainly didn’t look hampered by moving to no.3.. and where on earth has that Jye been all year… superb! Was good to see kasper walk away from his heat 2 spill.. did I hear right the problem was his groin area? If we can keep that momentum up on Tuesday and Wednesday I hope we can at least be entertaining. I’m not being optimistic as it’s hope that kills me… my pessimistic attitude is better as if we do well then happy me is a lot easier to live with then miserable me And a final Note… I always thought Jason Crump was God… my childhood speedway idol… the man continues to ooze class after all these years -

Get the strong rider into what is potentially seen as an “easier” ride… ?? -
Berwick v Poole Saturday 07/08/21 7pm

Aye… mr optimistic -
I think many believed that Poole had this meeting in the bag before it started.. I’ll be honest, I was one of them… but I think a few are forgetting the bad luck we had during the meeting (Wells and Aaron falling when in points scoring positions)… it could have been slightly worse for Poole! The momentum definitely swung in heat 13 though… our usual downfall didn’t play out this week… and oh how it lifted the spirits of Berwick fans Thanks to Havvy for not using Danyon Hume like he should have been I’m sure the Pirates fans will see a very different James Wright today though as to who was in their colours last night! And on the plus side for those who do read my blogs… I ain’t gonna be too miserable this week

A nice burst of rain to soak the track about 6pm would be lovely -

Effortless maximum for the bullets in his 1st proper meeting back in 5 years! Okay there is a jump in leagues but I’d think he’ll get you some points every meeting. -
Im reasonably happy with that! Points lost for us though from Kyle not realising the outside was the place to be until heat 14… but fair play in his paid win as it kept us in with a miniscule hope! Much much better from Spud, NBJ and Dany away… more fight shown.. If we are to progress then we need to get stuck in ASAP … we know Sedgmen ain’t a fan of our place.. Bailey can’t gate well which ain’t good news for him at Berwick… we need the same level from Dany, Spud and NBJ and a dramatic improvement from Jye!
-
If we get the improvement at Brough that we’ve seen from him at other tracks this season then I will be happy… There are a few ifs in this meeting… IF spud and NBJ can perform With the same fight and gusto shown last night at Glasgow… if Jye can score as he ain’t that great at Brough… if RR will benefit us, particularly now we will have Kasper dropping down to reserve from Sunday.. could go either way!

Indeed it was!

Well… 2 weeks break… not much in the way of passing but the closeness of the meeting kept you interested! Our top 3 performed superbly… how nice to see us on the right end of results in heats 13/15 for a change! Excellent debut for Luke Crang and I will hold my hands up and say I didn’t expect him to be that race sharp! Greg as always was rubbish-e or bust… he’s got a funny set of gonads for sure with some of the moves he was trying tonight! Good to see him get up and walk away so quickly from what was quite an impactful crash in heat 13! I said at the start of the season that I believed Mildenhall would be the team We would slip up against… we didn’t thank the Lord and so remain top of the pile for the time being

Oh I’m here… sitting in the shade, in the beautiful Greek Islands, whilst it hits about 34-35 degrees over here. I’ve got a loyal audience though and even when I’m not in the country I won’t be letting my fans down… need something to do since me and hubby can’t hit the nightlife as much now (the joys of kids!! ) Keep your eyes peeled!
