Just to add on from my footnotes on the text updates. DULL meeting with little passing. Ulamek, despite one duff ride was easilty the pick. Lyons looked the quickest until after his 3rd ride. Parker got better as the meeting went on. Well done to the top 3. As for the rest ------- Ludvig - started with a decent 2nd and a win in heat 9 when he took advantage of getting daylight ahead of Howe who had to pick his way through the field. Franc - was mediocre in the first half then looked superb in his last 2. Piszcz - certainly tries and not outclassed. Compton - did pretty well even tho he isnt really that behind any other riders considering he didnt miss anything when he `retired`. In the big heat 20 he needed to win to force a run off was left wanting. Taylor - as expected completely outclassed. Morris - always has a go. Mroz - with the Brummies reserve pairing its going to be a VERY long season. Looked way off the pace. Sweetman - first chance to see him and he looks like he could be useful. Wright - a duffer in heat spoilt a chance of a top 3 finish. Had some pace without over impressing. Howe - woeful gating - even taylor outgated him! Finished without a win which surprised me as was in the thick of the action. Vissing - looked very fast and impressive. His fall cost him a potential rostrum place. Barker - 2 falls - one very unlucky when leading. Looked to have the speed but looked a bit hit and miss. Ksiezak - hardly set the track alight. Well need big improvements for the Brummies to have any chances this year as its looks top 2 and nothing else on this kind of showing.

there will be plenty of people you will be able to relate to as ill be in the minority age wise. the guys that went last time (besides me and a poole fan as over 30`s) the rest were 18-22. However as wolves fans we will hopefully be in the majority! Seriously all issues apart - im happy to tell Dave to look at confirmed places as we dont want more than 12 (that way we get the track ourselves and plenty of track time). If there is room for 2 then ill let u know the date
-
true - such is life Well im sure we can discuss the training day at some point. The other guy thats trying to sort the date thinks weve got about 12 to go in April - however ill ask him if he needs anymore confirmed showers if your interested in joining us. By the way theres other tracks fans coming along - so you wont be isolated (as bees fans should be!)

I always look forward to this meeting. Something different with a smattering of youngsters thrown in should whet the appetite. i think it will be freddie, schlein, bridger in that order. -

Well we did slightly better and seemed spurned on by Tai`s enthusiasm and by Bombers 2nd ride. Then on it went a bit flat. Scottie - up and down nite. Was challenging at least. Bomber - looked quicker and a contender in most heats. Richardson - surely now MUST lose his automatic nomination. The weakest of weak links. Kennett - did as much as i expected internationally. Nothing. He needs grooming for the big stage. Tai - 4 more tai`s please and we could be winners. Just goes to show if you throw em in young they will learn and just might score you some points. Next year gotta be built around youth. It how Denmark rebuilt. We now have NO OPTION but to go into World Cup oblivion like the Danes did for a few seasons while we build up the next challengers. perservering with what we have isnt good anymore. Bring on the future - bring it on 2009. -
What Do You Expect On Thursday

Kennett hasnt improved league wise but he still looks way short of what he needs international wise. Bomber had a break through last year and needs to consolidate that but you cant say Tai isnt good enough. The lad potentially could be the real deal in a coupla years!!!!! it should be. agree agreed. the Swedes know how to take it up several levels on the world stage, Deserved winners! superb indeed. Cant believe chose the PL tho when he was wanted back at Wolves. Think he would have done a superb job for us personally in the EL As a wolf owned rider - i can only echo your pride. -

given that saftudinov isnt in this meeting then you might say the Russians are very much weakened. However they have the type of spirit that we should try bottle. They hardly ever give up. If we finish 4th , its a disgrace, However finishing 3rd is not much further off. The reality i believe is that we arent good enough to grace the top 4. It will take a miracle. However saying that, ill be wearing my union jack with pride - but have a realistic view of what might happen -

its the only way ANY manager can do his job. unless the BSPA and authorities work together for the future of British speedway we will remain 2nd (or currently) 5th rated. Its down to the authorities to put the future of this country right. NOT the manager and not, to a lesser extent, the riders.
