  1. Bit cold, bit dull. So was the weather. A great turn out for such a likeable rider. The donut contest was fun, adam being the winner (naturally). Great too see Sam and Ronnie still going at it like kids, i swear both could still do a job in the EL. Tai and Parker had a few laps (at full gas) in jocks and boots - MANIACS!!!!! A few heats of what you might call decent racing, Freddie and Schlein being the standout. Notable mentions - Ty still appears to be struggling with set ups (big concern). - Andersson looks an exciting talent. Once he has ridden the A fixture for Poole he will be a big threat in the B. Looks quick and certainly not afraid to mix it. Was in the mix and passing from his 1st race. - Eddie looked slow when behind. Not sure if not trying or not interested. - Andersen certainly got found wanting trying to pass Fred, a close examination of the 2nd bend fence saw to that. No idea why he was so peed off at King for in the 1st race. Was an an untidy start with Andersen blasting thru the taps then gesturing at King all down the back straight - resulting in king showing him his back wheel. They both tried to stop each other in the rerun, resulting in them both drifting to the fence and out of contention. So its not just Nicki P he picks fights with then. Anyway, queue win for Ludig - sorted. Good to see a Wolves team win on the day - given that is where his heart belongs so the right result on the day. Loved the PK and Sqora battle in heat 17 too. I think PK was just letting Adam play but it was entertaining all the same with Adam `stealing` the 2nd place on the run to the line. Track times were slower than usual too.
  2. We all know what happened to Lee Richardson. He was once a GP rider and is never likely to be again. Not sure about lack of dirt as Richard said the track was prepared as usual. Think the silencers told there own story today - riders trying outside with little effect (killing speed), and riders mostly sticking to inside /middle of the track. The silencers as i expected are killing the noise we love. You could barely hear it once racing had moved to opposite side of the track, think that didnt help with generating noise amongst the crowd. As far as an opening meeting goes it was much better than the previous 2 ben funds - which says more about the quality of the Scunthorpe track than anything. On a personal note it was a pleasure to get so many smiles and hello`s from friendly folk whilst on volunteer car park duty - except for one un-named (for legal reasons ) person who showed no respect and parked precisely where he wanted and nearly run one of us over! Cant say im suprised by the attitude of the `person`. thanks for looking after us Richard and glad we could help
  3. Must admit, im looking forward to seeing some speedway and a chance to forget the politics for a change
  4. Every year lots of riders miss out on clubs. Nicolai Klindt has already stated he is without a club in the UK this season. It doesnt just affect riders from Coventry and Peterborough.
  5. No, i DIDNT say they werent lined up for the PL at all. Dont put words in my mouth !!!! I just stated it that there was a mention of possibly 2 other 2 teams coming up pre AGM if rules are regs made it feasible - and lo and behold 2 teams HAVE come into the EL for this year! Your asking me to try and make sense of any BSPA announcement??!!!!! We can all only assume the money played a part in the decision - but to say its the ONLY reason isnt correct surely.
  6. Im not so sure they didnt declare an intent. The pre AGM meeting indicated there could possibly be a couple more teams to announce dependant on rules so i reckon they had already declared an intent prior to the walk out. I just dont buy this nonesense that they have been rewarded for coming up with being given a massive cash incentive and the share of the Panthers and Bees money. Dont get me wrong, im sure that the cash might have played some part in them, or any team coming up. But to suggest they only came up to prop up the EL is just plain nonesense IMHO.
  7. NOBODY is right or wrong at the moment. Not being dismissive of what Colin does or doesnt know (if he does im not to say) but until there are official releases its ALL just speculation. If what Colin says is the truth then im sure we will not here the last of it! Not having a pop at Colin - im just not a fan of people who claim to know things - even if they do! Exactly. NOBODY knows (or a hundred or more know if you believe Skeletor ) what theses grounds are. Its just pure speculation or people have read bits of what other promoters have said and put 2 and 2 together and come up with 5. I prefer to wait until the official release before i make a true informed opinion of who is in the right or wrong. Its just my opinion that Sandhu (in particular) and Frost are trying to alter the game at the detriment of the sport. Until i hear what all the fuss was about (officially, not in posters beliefs or sources) then ill be more enlightened. So will 99.9% of posters id imagine.
  8. Because in my experience the people who know things dont post them . If you are seriously suggesting that hundreds of people know whats going on including many on here then i will treat your post with the contempt it deserves. I know SEVERAL people in the know and have read NOTHING from them in opinions - so your suggestion is clearly flawed. Ill leave you and several others thinking you believing you know whats been happening. Personally - ill wait for a TRUTHFUL release from the official sources.
  9. Hundreds you say??? people of the clubs involved and lawyers of both teams (assuming that lawyers ARE involved) yes, but hundreds. I doubt it. I thought it was pretty obvious i meant that nobody on here knows whats going on - i thought that was pretty obvious.
  10. Nobody knows nothing - as usual!!!!! Assumptive as usual. Perhaps the fat cats frost and sandhu were told they couldnt challenge them after all - we all dont know. I dont look for clues Col. I wait for official news that we ALL can see is correct. We dont know which way around it was. Id always believed it was the other way around personally. Think we can all agree Steve that NO ONE knows whats going on - thats the only clear thing about it all. OR good to see that Sandhu and Frost have backed down as they didnt have the cast iron case they claim. Nobody knows yet obviously.
  11. The rules this season that many said were wrong allowed Coventry to make LEGAL changes that helped them to the title. The BSPA must be really bad then eh?! How do we know what the lawyers have demanded tho Col? Contrived rules that Coventry have abused again and again tho. Its not Poole and Wolves (the guilty promoters according to some know nothing Coventry fans) are affected this and most seasons by rules and regulations. Im sure Wolves were looking to use Wolbert as a double up rider next season but the rules look to have put paid to that. IF the talks mean Coventry get there way then the rules will stink very highly indeed.
  12. We hardly know many rules and regs but as we are all working to a 40 point limit ill assume Cov will be doing the same. Thats goes for 99.99% of all posters on the subject then! We are ALL just guessing really!!!!
  13. Rules were made to suit ALL teams at the AGM. To expect rules to change to suit YOUR clubs means you get it on your own terms. Not fair either! Doesnt bother me Martin. If we didnt qualify for the competition then we shouldnt be in it! thinks its only fair the 2 most hated clubs lock horns! See you at the Green next year mate
  14. Sandhu has also been shown up for what he is too. Seems odd to me. Hopefully 2 promotions will have also learned a lesson in the way to conduct themselves at professional meetings as well. Toy throwing should be left in the nursery. As for the statement - its GREAT news if proves to be true and workable. Which just goes to show when the BSPA said it was 8 with a couple more possibly joining initially they were absolutely correct. Hopefully once this sorry sad saga is all over we can get back to talking about whos going to do what next season instead of Coventry and Peterborough hogging all the limelight - no wonder Poole fans are miffed
  15. Thats my thinking behind it too. Cant see any other way! Hopefully we will ALL know when an official statement is made
  16. Err, can you state where ive ever said that Cov WONT come back to the EL??? Im glad they have - always said they should be in. Just think the actions of there promotion is not acceptable. That is a very different thing. Fair and sensible point. When facts start emerging can we see whos rumour starting was near (or wide) of the truth. None.. its confirmed when the BSPA announce it.
  17. Well given no `official` notice of the meeting (other than a newspaper comment) it remains to be seen if all of this is true. If the same source (the newspaper) knows all the answers its make both the BSPA and Coventry official sites farcial for not letting the SPEEDWAY world know first. All the talk seems to be coming from the Cov side, ill believe it when i see it tho. However, i hope to god it proves true.
  18. I know mate. the person that made it carries the disgrace. Err, hasnt your promotion already stated he wont run due to costs? i do hope there is a way back for them tho. There isnt any link to it so i guess its started as a rumour. How do we know there even was a meeting today or even going to be one? Neither Cov or the BSPA has issued news of a meeting taking place. So long as ALL promoters work together!!!!! Might it also be the case that there are no such grounds ?? Not at all. Its a forum to discuss issues and rumours - not quote facts. Thats what the clubs websites do. Thats interesting - bet it was there from end of season tho. I wonder why all the secrecy????? Theres been no official mention of it - just reports in local papers.
  19. What about the comment he made to fans at the support day when he told them what was offered was `silly`. No mention of that tho.
  20. Amazingly you have just picked my posts and name checked me out of accident then. Ill have a word with Sandhu`s lawyers to see if they deal with stalkers. Merry Christmas to you tho. Depends who you believe. Sandhu said the BSPA offered a way out and he said it was ridiculous. An absolutely disgraceful comment Its as poor a word to describe the disabled as the `N` word is for black people. Doubt its serious RMFAO RMFAO Fair point lol
  21. Another fair point SB. Cant believe anybody would even think 1 team can have things on there terms - just shear madness. Any team now joining (or re-joining in Cov`s case) will surely HAVE to accept those rules?? Fair point and the point ive tried to make in the past. Irespective of who tried to play with the rules (and rightly or wrongly won) the BSPA usually always implement a rule to stop that happening again. The Bees cannot feel that they have been victimised as other teams year on year have had a loophole closed on them. Thats just the way it goes. Whether its right or not way of doing business is debatable. However if the rules are changed to suit Coventry alone this year a dangerous precedence will have been set - all the other teams who have been affected in the past (IE virtually everyone) will feel unhappy that the rules didnt work for them. Maybe there is a better way of running the BSPA, however just 1 club cant have things run there way. Thats got to be crystal clear surely? Exactly Steve. EVERY season a club gets the rough treatment by having rules go against them or having to break up a winning side. ALL other clubs accept it with at least a little grace.
