Your entitled to your opinion as im mine. The RULE is cheating the sport and making it a farce. how can anyone defend riders shutting off off the 4th bend and blatantly trying to give away points and therefore suggest it is perfectly ok and doesnt bring the sport into farcial terittory is beyond me quite honestly. We are stepping into EL territory here.Play the rules to your favour but hate the rule for bringing the sport into disrepute. The WC was/has been our shining glory because of the thrill and spectacle it offers (albiet with the `joker` aspect) however after tonight the stupid joker rule has ruined and marred what should be a great night for speedway fans and a chance to show the viewing sporting public what a great sport we have. However it has highlighted that Speedway has become beyond a joke (great choice of words, not) and speedway racing has become who is best at shutting off before the chequered flag to win the greatest team accolade. My sport is being ruined, and no im not happy. You cant compare to other sports with those sporting analogies because they dont have to defend the possibility of there next goal, bat counting for double. Could you say Crump was defending his right to let his team go 6 points behind? definetly Did he `race` for 4 laps? Definetly. The only sporting analogy i can suggest is a striker heading for the goal that levels the match and a (opposing) defender picks up the ball and runs off with it. That would be plain stupid right?? Well thats my point. My sympathies are with you in this awful time. -

Ok, they are perfectly sensible rules. The sport is miles ahead of the rest for making such ridiculous rules look fantastically entertaining, better?! I lie, of course. -

Agreed. Doesnt mean the riders have to allow NOT racing to be introduced as part and parcel of the rules. The way speedway is going it will lose further credibility. The World Cup every year brings the best racing year in year out. It is something that any sports fans, or fan of team sports, can watch and enjoy and see just how great our sport is. However when you get riders shutting off before a race to throw it you cant expect anyone to take it seriously. At this moment in time im so glad the National Press dont cover the World Cup. They would have a field day with its nonesene rules. Joker (if at all) to be at least 8 -10 points at bare minimum. We all know that BSI wont drop it. They love it. But they seem happy to keep our sport as a bit of a joke. Why does it? No one ever said it would host the World Cup Final next year. I thought it would host a round at least and IF (when) GB get seeded then most likely the new stadium would host it. Well, thats what i assumed anyway. -

Well im replying to your nonesense but it seems you are happy that tactical slowing down to a race is a good thing. Racing can and usually is tactical through-out a race. However slowing down should never be condoned or allowed. But of course in your world Crump is as guilty as Pedersen. No worries, i will stick with my own views and be comforted with the pages of distain for the Danes actions in heats 17 & 18. -

Best team won. Cheating ruled the day. World Cup ruined. NO MORE JOKER AND NO MORE SEEDING TO THE FINAL. -

Its not a contradiction. Crump was racing and wasnt close to getting near to Pedersen. Are you now gonna say that Holder wasnt racing because he couldnt get passed MJJ??? Racing (not passing) is a minimum expectations in any race. Shutting off (by Nikki) holds no excuses. I guess also Crump wasnt racing in heat 20 because he didnt pass Neils also maybe?????? -

How i hate this World Cup. Im now cheering the Aussies on for victory. I would have preffered the Danes with the kids making such a presence over the Aussies with the annoying turbo twins. What a shame for Nicki - after cheating he can only now manage 3rd - oh well never mind eh. -

Its made the WC a total joke. Changes for next year or yet another own goal for our great sport. How ridiculous. Of course Crump was racing!! He just wasnt going for a pass. Good on you for defending the actions of Nikki for making a mockery of the sport . You must be so proud. Total total joke of a final. Shameful. -

now its turning into a farce. Pathetic. The great week has now been ruined by the rules. Well done the Danes for NOT racing to the line. -

thats the point. the rules clearly are allowing cheating. I take it the rule for `not racing` doesnt apply in the WC. Im sure Crump would have done the same by the way. -

for not racing Nicki should be excluded and have points deducted. That way it will stop such farcial situations happening. Ive seen riders excluded for not `racing`. Nicki should lose any points for that. The word id use is cheating. Still, im sure he would fit in well if Ford is looking for a replacement for Kling in time for the play offs. -

Well said that lady! Wont stop people still saying he is an Aussie wannabie At least he rode with pride for GB, there are several that can learn from that. -

Well thought out post and you make a very good point. Doesnt matter who manages GB, they dont have the resources to sustain any meaningful challenges - and that includes the riders too. Tho he has a point about batchelor Seriously tho Batchelor showed last season he can do it on the World Stage although it is yet to be seen if that was a one season wonder. If Ward is declared fit tomorrow he will take Batch`s place as at the moment he is the Aussies weak link. -

They are using their young riders . mikkel B will be back for Saturday in place of Madsen i reckon. Plus they are doing the right thing. Mikkel and MJJ are 2 stars of the future. In fact stroke that they are already doing it on the World stage. -

Congratulations to Scott for scoring so well against the Czechs and the Germans When it comes to the race offs he has gone missing for a while now. Nicholls is being exposed when it matters. We wont be in the qualifiers next year having reached the race off . Its time to start blooding riders for the future - or we have no future. We arent strong enough to make the final with the top 4 we have, time to blood at least one young rider. If we dont build we may as well accept we are good enough for 2nd in our round (if at home) and should reach 3rd in the race off. Time to start re-building. -
World Cup Race Off 12 July
stevebrum replied to Vincent Vega's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Nicholls and king hardly looked much better. So we just keep wheeling out riders who prove time and time again they are longer valid on the World stage? How do we get the next generation on to the next level if we dont give them some exposure? Id rather have seen Barker or Bridger struggle than watch an out of depth Nicholls who should do better but is past the international scene now.
