  1. No argument from me regards Newman. Completely used by Poole and dropped several times and did very little to bring on his career. However not many top flight teams promote and push the career of their British assets.
  2. No issues. It was similar to the Polish reserve system where they stay in reserve all season long. Obviously a similar situation because some teams have much better juniors than others. Bringing on assets should be rewarded not penalised imho.
  3. Perhaps not surprising news but must wonder if it’s in place of Fricke tho?
  4. Woffy has already confirmed his plans for next year so won’t be him. Lindgren I hope, but can’t see it being Woffy. It was set at 4 for new overseas CL to PL as that’s what Kings Lynn were going to have to use for him this year. Rules could have changed because they have already dropped the only 1 over 8 average rule for next year. little surprised at the new of it being Broc but definitely appears to have improved massively. Certainly makes it look like a potential big hitter at number 1.
  5. Absolutely agree. He owned Monmore within a few short weeks.
  6. Whilst it’s a shame Cradley have decided to pull out it’s reassuring to know we have extra free dates should we need them. Pressure should always be on the council to do more. Demand has been proven to be there.
  7. Rolling averages would be ridiculous to use. Think it would be similar to last time. Any GP standard/ Polish or Swedish average/ and say rider over 7.5 would be A grade for example. Think in any instance you would take any know retuning top line riders plus known established heat leader standard riders to ensure there are enough riders for ALL teams to be able to select from which I think that’s fair.
  8. Not at all guaranteed. But one would expect so. Truth is he didn’t meet the mythical figure of 7.5 you say Holder and Kildemand would do if they came back. Holder has been not near that figure when he was last riding here and has been in decline since then. Obviously all of these comments are speculative as none of any the comments are facts based.
  9. It was used for one season and discarded like many good things, including the draft system. Im not sure it didn’t work correctly tho.
  10. And Iversen a GP rider managed 6.97 for Ipswich this year. Shouldn’t he have achieved a similar 7.5 average then using your logic?
  11. I’ll take it you’ve not seen either rider ride much this season.
  12. I’ve already explained my thought process. If we are using averages then rolling averages are probably the fairest. Grading would bring no different discrepancies when looking at if riders are graded fairest versus whether some riders have a fair average for their ability (2019 averages/rolling/old average for riders coming back). Grading to me is the fairest way forward overall.
  13. Kildemand seems a completely lost rider these days. Surprised at how poor and slow he looked this year. Bit like Chris Holder, no value on their current averages.
  14. Strength in depth certainly didn’t work this season as Swindon proved but yes that is a good point in general. Rolling averages are probably the fairest way forward however I still believe grading is the best way forward.
  15. My only point then is the hypocrisy and judgement that some make when they do no different themselves. If Tai felt a need to add swearing to his book then that’s his choice. By the way I don’t agree that he did however I can see it makes his autobiography real and reflects his personality better.
  16. It’s not my logic, they are the facts. Using rolling averages may give the ‘ fairer’ overall average but aren’t accurate at all. We know the rolling averages were brought in to stop the same teams snapping up all the riders on ridiculously low averages. So that’s job done of a sort. Iversen on a 6.97 to 7.54 is below his ability so don’t see the issue. Both are too low yet both give a current reflection on his 2019 season. Remember, both averages are correct. The only fair way in my opinion is to go back to actual averages for that achieved in a full season. But I get why rolling averages are used totally. Grading (which works perfectly well in Danish league racing) would group certain standards of riders together which would be different to what is happening now. Some would say how is it fair that Doyle, Iversen and Pedersen (as example) are A grade the same as the likes of Masters, Kurtz, Jack Holder, Wright? Yet all of them rode at number one for their teams this season and potentially next season. So of course that’s fair. There will always be an argument that some riders are put in group wrongly or because the team you support is affected by that grade, no different to the example point of Iversen whether he should be using the current rolling average, his 2019 average or a GP reassessed average. All 3 points have a similar merit.
  17. Not sure how you can compare knife crime to swearing as some sort of comparable? It’s a fair point you make that you now don’t swear and that’s perfectly your choice. Plenty do swear and don’t see it as being judged as unacceptable. Plenty of a certain generation I’m sure hold your view. So i take you have never sworn in your life then?
  18. We are only talking about Tai’s book in reference to the use of swearing. He swears a lot, although very reserved and professional on camera. The book makes Tai real in reading which I believe is the whole point. Obviously certain words are censored on most platforms because the masses still find them unacceptable. (Although the hypocrisy of people who swear themselves moaning about hearing it in TV, social media and books isn’t lost on me). If you can honestly say you have never sworn and never would then your point may be valid in this instance. Again YOUR honest answer will give you an indication of what’s right in this instance. I hear swearing from many people in any city centre. However if you stand preaching swear words at people you might be arrested. As stated above if you can honestly say you have never sworn in your life then you have a valid point. In the real world swear words are common place.
  19. In today’s society it’s perfectly acceptable whether we like it or not. Its written in Tai’s language so I don’t see the issue, unless it’s aimed solely at the teen market which it isn’t.
  20. That was a brilliant night. Same here, only one I’ve been to.
  21. Couldn’t get tickets for Tai, so I assumed that sold out?
  22. Hey, no worries. It seemed assumed I would always do it! Thankfully others have stepped in and do a brilliant job. Absolutely correct. Which is why I said it’s great for our league that he or anyone of that ilk is back. You can be sure Nicki will get exactly the welcome he deserves when Sheffield are in town and he knows it. Nicki isn’t liked all leagues over (although probably not Danish league!) so is perfectly used to it and encourages it. Nicki is here for the pay check not to be liked. He has said before the booing only makes him more determined to win. Nicki knows that he isn’t liked at Wolves and he doesn’t care. That tells you all you need to know about the situation. Long history dating back to his first season with us as his parent club in 99. Let’s just say he made himself unpopular with many including his team mates. Plus he dislikes the Wolves fans as he said as much so the feeling is completely mutual.
  23. What a success he was. However that could be the very reason why he may miss out as he would likely start out as 1 or 2nd heat leader .
  24. I don’t think anyone does. By some fluke it will get the odd one right but that’s as rare as Nicki Pedersen riding clean.
