My, your a cheerie little soul aint ya? I get it, you aint a fan of the tour. Thankfully MANY are. Enough said. Im sure it wont stop you pulling it apart further. Im looking forward to seeing Dylan and Austin and the boys progress at the next opportunity.
-
Many thanks to Steve and the boys for making me a welcome part of the day at Plymouth. Unofficial helper to Mr Evans (well i gave out the helmet colours and picked heat 15). So good to be part of the backroom crew. Its been 3 years in the planning but at last i finally got to Plymouth to see the USA boys in action. Thought that some the action was pretty good. Im amazed at some of the criticism being levelled at the touring group. There on a learning curve, just what do some people expect? Always good to see Eddie in action, and uncle Doug was really going for it. Good to see Dylan have a better meeting and he was excited about it i can tell you. Austin just needs to concentrate more and he is certainly rated - its just not working for him this tour it seems.

Tomasz Gollob World Champion 2010
stevebrum replied to Daniel Smith's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
The most exciting rider i think ive ever had the pleasure of watching. A thoroughly deserved winner. Gotta love the guy. -
Well done to Bomber on finally looking like a true Grand Prix rider. Excellent day for him, makes you proud to be a Brit. Well done to our Fred, 2nd final on the bounce and looked much more relaxed. Herbie is still a class act and he was one of the better riders on the day so he deserves the win. Pedersen surely cant be considered for a pick, he has looked awful all season. Of course he will, but the likes of him, jonsson and Andersen have looked mediocre at best this season and someone surely is gonna be shocked with a lost place. Jonsson must be the one with the biggest sweat on. With Lindback and Freddie already in he surely wont get a pick. So long as Kenny stays in the top 8 (boy how he has gone off the boil too) then it will be one of Pedersen or andersen for a pick?). A decent meeting all told. Odd sandy track. And Pavlic made to look very ordinary in his own backyard. Had a good couple of battles. But thankfully he has shown he isnt really a consideration for a wild card pick - THANK GOD!

Sgp Challenge Final
stevebrum replied to ladyluck's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
My favourite so far is that riders can be a little bit injured. Anyway on to something that matters - the meeting. Im hoping that Fast freddie gets thru of his own accord. Its been a largely backward GP year for him. He is so much better than that. Ill go for Bomber to qualify too. The rest -- couldnt care less. -
because HE wanted it

Dont think anyone expected Tai to do what Emil did. He`s done precisely what was expected of him. Taken a few scalps without really challenging for a semi except in one round. Job done as far as Tai goes. All the experience learned will only benefit him, the GP AND Team GB. Ill be very suprised if they ditch him after one season, very suprised.
-
And bring in who precisely? He has had some good scrapes, taken a few scalps as well. He is only going to get better and better. Which they wont be dropped. The BSI is pretty clear they want the best AND the most upcoming youngsters. Lindgren still has several years on most of the GP regulars whilst Woffinden is likely to keep the pick unless GB can provide a better option. Which there isnt. Nicholls wont get another pick, same as with Richardson. Stead has showed he is even further down the pecking order internationally with his WTC showing. Whilst id prefer riders qualified and there were no picks, until that day we will get 2 picks. No point in saying we dont deserve it, and given we need 2 Harris and Woff are almost nailed on for next season.
-
You thought wrong then now changed to 1AM Like Harris then Thats harsh. If thats the case Pedersen wouldnt have completed a whole GP As for the meeting. Whilst the first half dozen races were a bit slow on the whole there was some hard and fantastic racing. Gollobs move was indeed hard and not sure why he went for it. Its definetly his to lose now. I really hope he does. Fast Freddie got better and had a slice of luck on the way. THJ was excellent value, the shining glory for the Swindon camp. A real star in the making. Well done to Holta , he deserved it in the end. As for zero pedersen, couldnt happen to a better rider. Out the top ten, shame it aint good riddance.

Agreed. Weve struggled to put out our strongest top 5 for a few years and it shows that we can mix it. However never thought we had a realistic chance of winning. Still proud that they put in decent effort Not to mention that Harris blew it which even he admitted. Lyon is a steady motivator it seems. Better than the rubbish that has gone before. -

Quote from shazzybird' date='27 July 2010 - 11:53 b]SILVER BEE[/b] and SCB and a few of their little posse with them actually cheered and clapped when Rory went hard into the fence, lads you can deny it all you like and even send in your village idiot to fight ya battles but ...... I looked away when Rory went into the fence and was facing you at the time watching you cheering and clapping, in front of me is bad enough as everyone knows that is my mega pet hate of mine BUT in front of Rorys Mum that was a definate no no!!!! ......give you your due you did try to get out of it by saying you were cheering on another rider at the time, unfortunately the rider you said you were cheering wasn't in that race!!!!! Well someone was right!!! -

Dont blame him! Cant believe they had the cheek to think he would say yes! To be honest we should have walked the qualifier - given that we are at full strength. In theory IF the Danes are still weakened without Pedersen and the Swedes dont have Jonsson back we should be in a position of getting ourselves a medal. We havent had a good final in a while now - now is the time to prove that we can still mix it when we are at full strength. If the fighting spirit is as good as it was last night, then in theory we stand as good a chance as anyone. However saying that - think the Poles will blow everyone else away. -

Its a black countty/Brum divide thing they heard i spoke to you once , talk about being badly tainted Except it was half hour before you - Your slipping boy. ;-) Are you joking? Result over entertainment?? No wonder people are moaning about speedway A great meeting that built and built. The close scoreline helped but some of the racing was top drawer stuff. Proud to be a Brit . Tho im TEAM Sweden thurs lol Freddie was awesome tonight as well. -

disagree Tellboy. When ive been to World championships - and notably the GP challenge at Coventry last year there were a whole array of travelling Poles from there respective clubs. Some i tried to speak to but spoke not a word of English. The hard core travelling Poles live in Poland. Im sure Cardiff attracts its `english` Poles, much in the same way that some people only go to Cardiff and nowhere else as an event. -

great point. Id like to have seen the Poles, danes and Brits introduce a price that suited ALL of the countries - not just the hosting nation. As is usual tho - each country does its own thing, with little regard to other nations. Im sure Kings Lynn will be packed to the rafters - but will it be sold out like in Poland??? -

the point being, Poland speedway scene is buzzing, they give the fans what they want at a VERY reasonable price. Indeed if you put the wages into proportion then that is a fair point. However not the best way to entice the Polish fans to flock here and pay our prices. Yet they do, which just goes to show they CAN afford it. And MUCH cheaper to watch in HD, thanks for the advice. If i was organised id have gone to Poland the weekend in preference. But sometimes work doesnt allow one to get to every match -

New Swc Format Needed?
stevebrum replied to Rob B's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Exactly, There are make weights in the Football world cup, why should we make it different! Russia are already a higher seed than Team GB, unfortunately thats just how low we have fallen. As for the part about the track? id say about 19.01 -

Hope your on the wind up ere!!!!! Very Shov like arrogance!!! Yea, im sure the rest of the world were fearing the Finns Could be the first country to score 0 even at full strength. Agree, was really looking forward to seeing how well he has progressed. good to se how the Poles keepin it real by charging ridiculously low prices yet we make sure we milk the supporters of there money. Hence my thoughts of attending have now subsided. Ill take full advantage of my SKY HD subscription tonight -
New Swc Format Needed?

How bout just the top 4 qualify and just have a final? It was only a few seasons ago we were saying the Russians were make weight, there not anymore. There a country very much on the up. It gives us all chance to see riders we dont ordinarily see and how else are they gonna get onto the World stage? The trouble with the Czech`s is they have been a spent force for 10 years or more. The Drymls may of 1 time been of a decent standard but now there riding on low averages from a mostly reserve position. Its time they started bringing through some of the youngsters - they would have still struggled anyway. It has some merit i reckon. Gives even 2nd place some security for the following season.
