  1. Bunyan hasnt been disgraced?? I blame the cameras for making him so poorly out of his depth then
  2. Bunyan as Wild card AGAIN?? Do we really have to have a PL rider that will be well out of his depth yet again?
  3. `Jenga makes sensible post shocker` - Eventually maybe
  4. Potentially its complete. You just cant make this stuff up!
  5. Agreed. SS on a Thursday is essential reading!
  6. Must be an odd state of affair, making sensible comments. You must try it sometime.
  7. Sorry should have elaborated the reply because obviously the post was pro SKY. Think what we both agree on is that the issue lies firmly at the feet of the governing body why we have the issues of falling attendances over a prolonged period of time.
  8. No we cant. Speedway attendance was falling before SKY - have we agreed who was to blame for that?
  9. Well, i make a lot of sense you know! ;-)
  10. Perhaps. He has proved he has the ability in the past. However he does have a tendency to throw in the towel when things arent working well. So he has a lot to prove still. I wish the lad luck and hope the PL works for him this time around.
  11. The benefit to Speedway really is quite simple. It keeps and makes our great sport visible and relevant to other sports fans. It is that simple. The rest of the job IS NOT for SKY to bring in people through the turnstiles. That is the job of our promoters. As others have said, SKY show sports with sparse support in the crowd. SKY SHOW the sports, the promotions of various sports PROMOTE their sports. I cannot believe people blame SKY for fall in attendance and all that is wrong in our sport. That falls at the feet of our promotions who don't do enough (or don't know how to to do more) for the continued fall in attendance. It was happening before SKY, which some seem to choose to ignore. Likewise i have neighbours, friends, associates who can make an informed opinion on Speedway BECAUSE of SKY showing our sport. That cannot be measured in the amount of people through the turnstiles. I know (and have introduced) many `newcomer` to Speedway since SKY came on board because they wanted to see it live. If the supporters are doing there bit to promote Speedway its now up to the promotions to follow suit, because the visibility that SKY give our sport cannot be measured either.
  12. My point is how do we know gates have gone down BECAUSE of SKY? Attendances were falling before SKY came on board so it is obvious that its part of a pattern that was forming before their involvement. It doesn't even bear to think what a state our sport would be in if SKY weren't involved. SKY have made Speedway visible. Plenty of sports fans have an idea what Speedway is these days. SO, who`s job is to ensure we get people coming through the turnstiles because of this visibility?? NOT SKY - that is down to our governing body, no one else. Thank god for SKY at least for keeping our sport visible and recognising what a great product it is.
  13. Somebody really has messed up to allow it to happen twice.
  14. What about the meetings advertised as £10 that SKY covered that were very well attended? Would promotions have dared to try without SKY?
  15. Crump99 has a new play mate, thank god for that
  16. Well said. Bet we all record the SKY meetings to watch AFTER going to see the real thing live. Why should it come down to choice? Cant we have both? And NO, it wont encourage people back on the terraces because it isn't on telly. Simples.
  17. There are bigger issues within Speedway that need addressing before we completely block out a Television company that shows our great sport to the masses. TV is NOT to blame for the mess Speedway is in. That is much closer to home.
  18. It is a sad part of the sport and certainly for Peterborough. The Panthers as a circuit belongs in the EL. Without a sugar daddy to bank roll the club again it might be a while before it happens again.
  19. That wouldn't surprise me at all and i probably wouldn't be surprised who those clubs might be if we ever found out.
  20. What a forward thinking attitude. I suggest we go back to black and white televisions because the crowds were huge for Speedway back then.
  21. Looks like Tyson Nelson may be struggling for a visa again according to his facebook status.
  22. Time will tell anyway. Cant say i`m that bothered that people write us off, so many made to look silly last season was all i needed amnyway! ANYHOW, back to the Panthers - looks like you have assembled a team more than capable of a top 6 place. I do worry about Dryml tho, he SHOULD clean up in the PL. I can see him struggling a little tho. I will look forward to my visits to watch some of the stars of the future in action at my 2ND favourite place to watch racing ;-)
