  1. So you are saying all riders that ride in the EL should put the EL ahead of their own countries championships? Yea right! The expected result for the Bees - just to think Wolves were linked to signing Bjarne pre season, thankfully that never happened!
  2. The standard was raised tho to make it a little fairer than it was last season, plus under this system someone is likely to get the pick wrong. I totally agree with the point you made about the likes of Blackbird, Garrity and Newman needing to be in the main 1-5. They showed last season they are ready. The hammers totally got the first pick wrong. It hasn't been a settled position or a good scoring one. On paper pre pick there looked little between all of the riders so I think that everyone had a fair chance. Ellis I have been impressed with from what I have seen but as 2nd FTR he shouldn't be relied upon to be scoring big points. It's the number 6 position that has let the Hammers down.
  3. Oh dear, things just getting worse for the Hammers. Good to see two of the Wolves boys helping out our play off rivals for away points! Excellent night for the Pirates and PK and Lewis. Commiserations Hammers fans but it's looking like a decent team on paper isn't working on track and missing AJ is a huge loss.
  4. 1, 3 & 5 are all heat leader positions so are all as equally as tough. He rides at 3 for Swindon so is already scoring well in that position.
  5. I knew who you meant, didn't feel a need to be pedantic about the wrong rider tho.
  6. Absolutely agree. Way too many highly paid stars underperforming. In the lowest standard league as well!
  7. KK was sacked by 3 clubs for not giving effort. The odd double score will never excuse the E'S worst worst supposed number one. Zagar has a long way to go to be that bad!
  8. Starke was rightly ranked top in 2nd tier, however you are correct regards Newman - he was only ever going to be protected by Poole. Don't agree with the rankings tho as Newman has already proved he is a higher ranked rider on EL experience alone.
  9. I think we have already shocked quite a few who had us down as awful, including the pundits. Yet we have won away and rock solid at home - not forgetting happily competing at the top end of the table. No doubt many are jealous that their predictions of us being rubbish are indeed rubbish. It's clear a lot of the top boys aren't scoring as expected this season so the other team members and reserves are making the differences right now. It will be interesting to see how things develop as the season unfolds, and those currently adrift if they can get on a run of form could make the table interesting indeed. Whilst Coventry look like walking to the top of the table consistency from the other teams will see them challenging for a top 4 spot. From a Wolves perspective I'm delighted we are showing promise from the off as this side is only going to get better so good times ahead!
  10. keep chasing. Yet to be convinced by the robins line up. Time will tell, but I admire you're confidence.
  11. Swindon got out of jail with this one, thank god that Zagar had a kasprzak type meeting yet again or the robins would be looking at falling further away from the established teams so far. Hopefully a killer will score big points throughout his stay and not fall into the inconsistent camp that so many of the top boys seem to be in this season.
  12. Hans at cov, Zagar at Vue , AJ at lakeside, Iversen and Bjerre at Lynn, holder at Poole. ALL scoring well below their ability this season. Nothing new this season it seems.
  13. If the aces have serious credentials then this is the sort of meeting they should be aiming to get points out of. Kildemand I hope will be here for a while as looking forward to watching him again. Let's see if he can do what the likes of Lindgren, Zagar, andersen, Bjerre can't and that's score big points.
  14. As SCB has already pointed out he was still racing heat leaders including racing in heat 15's. But of course you do have a point that riding at 2 or 4 has some easier races.
  15. Or as it's known 'doing a Poole' lol.Freddie most definitely isn't having it all his own way on his return to the EL. However besides magic (as starting heat leader) not one other looks outstanding. Even Niels is struggling to maintain his high standard but his injury can play it's part in that, and when you look at the form of holder, Zagar, Bjerre as an example of World class riders struggling for consistent high scores in the current format it puts it in some kind of order. Even AJ was only just over 8 which isn't that much difference to what Hans has been doing yet one is deemed a success and the other much less so! Freddie scored a maximum last week against a powerful Bees side which is no fluke and even he has had struggles with taking back his Monmore dominance. Put his form in comparison with his peers it isn't much worse. As for the result, it's as I expected. A Wolves team without the leagues top rider so far thus season was always going to be one way traffic. Both teams comfortably won there home matches against seriously weakened opposition. Very little to be taken from these results. Both are looking strong for a top 4 spot anyway.
  16. We are both weakened tonight tho losing PK to RR is much more of a loss to us. We should have fancied our chances tonight but any team would want a call off with dodgy weather if they were severely weakened by the loss of their star rider - and I wouldn't believe you if you said any different! All the above is true but the re - arranged date PK was scheduled to ride for Wolves. However he is in Sweden and has a tummy bug. I seriously hope he doesn't opt to be uh better to be able to race in Sweden tonight. He and Wolves should get all they deserve if he does ride.
  17. Sickness according to official Wolves site. If he rides in Sweden tonight tho I will lose all respect. No chance tonight then now. Poole should be looking good for high 50's then.Poole have got out of jail with a weakened line up and Wolves sending a team without the leagues best rider this season so far. Come on rain , save the day so we can beat em at full strength ;-)
  18. In one race he did yea, but the others were poor!
  19. PK named in the team on official site so no fixture clash with the rearranged Swedish match.
  20. There is no comparison. Porkie is the most entertaining around. At least he tries to get a atmosphere. I can't think of one place I've visited that has better entertainment value. I will give you he is a marmite kind of presenter. York is just beyond boring - you can't say the same thing about Porkie!
  21. Robins look good on paper at Brandon so could be a cracker. Yet to be convinced by a slow starting Swindon side so far so a decent showing will go some way from moving away from the fodder end of the table. Still think the Bees are way to strong for most teams so a 51 - 41 type score on the cards.
  22. As it's a re - arranged fixture surely the original long standing fixture does? On paper it should be home win. Thankfully this Wolves team don't listen to those that have them written off already. If we can't take a win the a point is possible I reckon.
