  1. Awfully dreadful news. Just seen this on FB DANNY AYRES R.I.P We have some awful news to bring you. There’s is no easy way to report this. Danny has passed away. His passing is tragic, extremely sad and very untimely. To say we are shocked and devastated is an understatement. Our thoughts and condolences are with Danny’s family.
  2. My dad has just shown me a black and white film from 1948 called The Monkeys Paw recorded from Talking Pictures. It has a small section of speedway racing from ‘Bledsill’ but can’t find any info on this track? Was it fictitious or renamed?
  3. None, like Belle Vue, like Ipswich and Peterborough (quite likely). Doesnt mean to say they didn’t try. Either way we are still good enough for a top 4 place.
  4. I’m delighted any big name is back in British Speedway and it will add to any gate that much is a fact. However sadly I think it will need several more coming back to save crowds dwindling gradually. I really hope the likes of Nicki coming back does encourage some stay always to come back however I think it’s a limited amount of people that will show an interest tho sadly. i really hope crowds are up to prove to the promoters that we need the bigger boys back to help bring more fans back to watching live.
  5. Use a free version that works fine.
  6. Bring the people in to boo him I’d imagine.
  7. I wish we had no connection to the most unpopular rider in recent history.
  8. And I still imagine Wolves will still get an asset fee?
  9. It’s one from each team. You have Bewley and Lidsey from Belle Vue.
  10. I know you appear to be unable to follow logic or a simple conversation so feel free to check the replies above. You suggested we need to do something quick when the transfer window opens when if its deemed the management made a mistake but if that’s the case they can change the line up now if they want to. Any team can.
  11. No one is suggesting it isn’t, FACT.
  12. And?? Peterborough had their team named last season and that soon changed before a wheel was even turned.irrelevant.
  13. It’s all assumptive based on no facts. Im sure Scott would have jumped at the chance personally but of course no one actually knows!
  14. Nonsense. We can do something now if that was the plan!
  15. Yep, no argument from me on that one. I don’t think you will find many Wolves fans who were surprised we signed Nicol and not Nicholls. Just perhaps Wolves are looking to the future and also maybe being savvy with this ongoing widening of the points conversion that we could possibly keep the same 1-7 next season. Looking at other teams number 7s Nicol is a stand out so I fully expect him to add to his starting average. And let’s face it if he achieves anything close to 5 he will be pretty close to replicating the rider he is replacing! (In Howarth). So maybe not as weak as some think. But like you say, using Nicol instead of Nicholls is odd.
  16. It’s irrelevant. The point being made is that Scott May be out of a top flight team because of clubs signing foreign riders. Good on the likes of Belle Vue and Wolves for looking to the future. I also hope Scott has a team place in the top flight. He deserves one.
  17. You made the point that a ‘long serving and well respected British rider’ has been left out at the expense of another rider. To be honest that point really is immaterial right now because we don’t even know if Scott has been left out of a top flight place. The bigger picture is that Belle Vue are investing in Lidsey as a long term prospect. It appears that Wolves are doing the same with Becker and Nicol. In that case there is no difference whatsoever.
  18. Fully agree, I expect Jensen to have a higher average by end of year. Nor me, it’s a barmy comparison.
  19. I take it you are equally appalled that Belle Vue are using Lidsey when they could have used Nicholls and a 3 pointer at reserve?
  20. He was a huge revelation. I don’t think anyone saw that coming. If he maintains his average then he will have done well too, but looks capable of more. Wright on the other hand is more than a point away as far as averages go and I grant you in a poor performing team. However with no clear leader at Belle Vue he will need to up his game as well if the Aces are to have a successful season. He has been a very slow burner so whether he has an extra point in him this season is very debatable. As he is a Brit I hope he has a great season.
