  1. But that’s surely his and Artem’s choice. They weren’t forced I’m sure.
  2. Huge learning curve for the lad but it will help if people stop presuming he will be GP standard within 2 years (as previously discussed from discussions on social media) and let him grow naturally with no added pressures. Lambert is miles ahead of Bewley all over. Not sure why anyone feels a need to compare them. There is no comparison right now. Or should be.
  3. Don’t get me wrong. My response is to pretty much anyone that thinks Bewley is already the better prospect which I’m seeing a lot on social media even after his dismal showing on Friday. It’s more a reality check that some say he will be in the GPS before Robert. I couldn’t be any more happier we have riders in Poland which can only be a great thing for our future. Obviously Robert has more experience, he is older! but both still have a mass of growth in them so we should be applauding both. And I definitely fall into that category to be clear.
  4. Great to see, while Bewley struggled to score a single point on Friday. With some one Facebook saying Bewley will be better than Lambert. Time will tell. Great to see England’s next great hope starting so well.
  5. But are free to watch on Facebook on ‘continental speedway’ page on reliable and ad free links. It’s well worth joining the page for the links alone.
  6. Nothing ‘blinkered’ at all. Asking riders to quarantine before they ride is perfectly fine. No issue with that. Asking riders to sign contracts (as mentioned by some of the riders) that say they CANNOT ride in any other country is the kind of thing we have become used to by the Polish Authorities. If this is allowed to happen then this action could see the closure of some teams in other countries. That cannot be allowed to happen. Id imagine if any rider challenged the contract the authorities would be laughed out of court. Now for the reality check. We know other countries have yet to get a start date so technically have no hold over any riders. That said each governing body has the absolute right to expect their own riders to stay loyal to their respective nations clubs. You can’t blame them, as they doing precisely what the Poles are doing. So if it’s good for then it’s good for other nations. There is this assumed idea that no other nation will get to see Speedway this year so Poland should be allowed to do what they want. Really? I’ve seen mentioned that this 2nd wave of infections will put paid to any action in the UK. If this is assumed are we then assuming Poland would be immune because they are a Speedway super power? I think not. You cannot blame the riders for going to Poland to earn a living, I certainly don’t. Riders should be free to choose if they want to ride elsewhere if and when it’s safe to do so and hopefully the riders will do just that when the time comes.
  7. The UK will be in the same situation as Sweden who must be in an even worse situation as they have lots of Poles usually filling their team spots.
  8. Ooops updated. Also to include Kurtz and Lidsey who are confirmed for ZG.
  9. That’s not what some of the riders are saying and why the various federations aren’t happy. Lambert already stated in this weeks SS that he is expected to stay in Poland for the season.
  10. They will have to challenge the Polish contracts first tho surely? They are signing to say they won’t ride in any other leagues?
  11. Whatever time it starts we know that Doyle, !ambert, Kurtz, Lidsey Bewley, Batchelor, Pedersen, won’t be available to the UK for 2020 unless there ridiculous Polish contracts can be challenged.
  12. ive tried to stay quiet for too long now.
  13. “transparent public explanation”.
  14. Sorry for quoting your post RAR it’s just the numbers I’m having an issue with. For the 4th time in 7 days people I know have lost someone, however have had NO known symptoms yet all 3 have had Covid19 on their death certificate. What I’m starting to understand that ALL deaths seems to be attributed to Covid19. im sure those 4 people and their families aren’t the only ones questioning those false diagnosis's.
  15. The facts remain however that a lot of the symptoms are ‘flu like’. In fact I’ve read comments from those who have had it and recovered (non hospital admission) as being like a really bad flu. What we are yet to see is how the virus responds once dormant and people start to return to some sort of normality. I know only too well from my experience as a nurse when a serious flu bug goes around that I’ve been exposed to it several times and sufferered accordingly. When I say flu bug I of course mean virus. I don’t think even from the off that anyone underestimated how bad this virus was given what we knew of it already.
  16. I’m assuming that’s why the thread on discussions was closed down as until someone is proven guilty it’s a very dangerous ground to leave open. Maybe wait until the May verdict until commenting on the case has been heard.
  17. Unfortunately some really do believe one offence is worse than the other named rider, hence the ridiculous personal attacks that ensure threads get closed down. Ward was very lucky to get a second chance (quite possibly 3rd or 4th!) so I fail to see why JG wouldn’t get the same. Saying that one rider was a potential world champion so deserved the chance is about as blinkered as it gets. There is no difference between the 2 riders as far as guilty and appalling behaviour . JG will rightly get boos and abuse if he decides to make Speedway a career again. I remember Ward getting booed at home matches I attended when Swindon were in town when his ban ended. Some people will let those riders know exactly what they think. Nobody on here should be defending the behaviours of either rider imho.
  18. Garrity has the one conviction (it’s suspect whether either had more) also. I’d say stupidity played a part for both riders. Plenty of undercurrent activity for Ward such as his involvement/none involvement in the case that won’t be mentioned, the mysterious head injury prior to the night of the PO final for Poole (supposedly due to a fight). I guess the question of when does stupidity become more dangerous behaviour? Anyway I’m assuming we shouldn’t be discussing the case or any other cases so let’s try keep it a low key discussion. I think neither character are the brightest tools in the Speedway world.
  19. I’d imagine IF the season was running the press release may have been different. However I still think it would include the line ‘we will not be making any further comment’. Some people quickly forget when something like this happens. Ward abused chance after chance and must rank as one of the worst regular offenders but some people forgave or forgot because of how good he naturally was on a bike. Garrity should be treated no different as it was no worse than Ward’s involvements back then. No doubt the moral police will continue to attack Garrity and defend Ward in equal measures because time elapsed. Just to be clear I am in no way defending the behaviour of any one of the individuals.
  20. I fail to see what purpose it would do given the season has no chance of starting before the court date. Birmingham have already issued a statement, and its true there is nothing else to add.
  21. IF Speedway came back I’m sure it would be top flight with an overwhelming majority. I’m sure fans attending regular would have been happy with a level above if still running.
  22. Like I said no stats and either one of us could be right. no doubt some meetings and seasons Cradley might have done slightly better attendance wise but I doubt as a general tho.
  23. Never seen such dedication and probably Cradley Speedway is the one thing that even today unites Cradley folk. I seriously hope one day it’s possible that you guys get your own place. I don’t think any region of the sport deserves it more.
