I saw his first full season with the Brummies so I’ve seen lots of him, probably more than you. He has clearly turned another corner in the winter, great to see him in Wolves colours and doing magnificent tonight. Hopefully he will stay with Wolves for many a season.
-
Your point? He wasn’t going to get a maximum or is he expected to. Gated well and a promising kid. That’s all you need when you already a decent reserve in place already. His job is solely to outscore the other RS.
-
I think it will be, and makes complete sense (unlike the extension of lockdown which has no sense whatsoever).
-
What on earth are you on about? Have you actually read what I said? My point was nothing at all to do with the NHS other than quoting facts about current hospital admissions. There is absolutely no ‘justice’ to the current extension of the lockdown. None whatsoever. If you work for the NHS you will know where to find the stats on admissions. Less than half a person is currently in hospitals with Covid. Hardly anyone is dying from the virus anymore, deaths remain in single figures daily. Those stats alone do not justify an extension of this ridiculous lockdown rules. Boris himself even said we need to learn to live with the virus, that time is now - backed by data. The NHS is not under pressure from Covid at all right now. Have worked for the NHS for many years, what’s your point? The data is available for all to see. The NHS isn’t under pressure from covid right now.
-
Could have yes, however he hadn’t looked like troubling the scorers so what was the point. They are all proper UK tracks.
-
Of course it’s pathetic. The criteria they used before to justify was an increase in infections x increase in hospital admissions x increase in deaths. What we currently have is less than half a person with Covid per hospital, yesterday we had 5 deaths, just a few weeks ago we had days with no deaths. Therefore there is not even a hint of a 3rd wave. The vaccine is protecting those who are vulnerable, Covid is currently the 9th biggest killer in the UK, yes 9th. There is no science that backs up the need to extend these ridiculous restrictions. There should never be a need for another lockdown ever again, however I’m sure the government will justify it somehow. Winter will always see an increase in deaths from viruses. The flu kills thousands every year. Do we lockdown or wear masks for those? People going abroad will bring new variants back to the UK. So yet again more threats of a new outbreak. It will never end. Even Boris said ‘at some stage we will have to learn to live with it’. That time is now. Or when do we wait till? infections will stay higher the more people socialise, that is completely NORMAL. So long as hospital don’t see an increase and deaths increase again then this is all perfectly normal. So yes, this extension is totally pathetic, backed up by no science whatsoever.

It’s obvious Wolves and no doubt the speedway league will halt league racing after that pathetic attempt to justify why restrictions should be extended a month.
-
Absolutely agree. Best match so far hands down. Peterborough is my favourite place to watch speedway and they deserved the win. Very solid team, Wolves were a 2 man team. we rarely get anything at the Showground so no real surprises.
-
Irrelevant, he isn’t eligble to race in the UK even if fit unless he drops another league.
-
Ditto every club in the league when the government lie about a need to extend restrictions.

Wolves v Sheffield 7th June 2021

For me that’s irrelevant. Every track has a minimum limit they can go to. It’s clear the lowest limit for Wolves is extremely higher than the 750 that’s been quoted as a maximum so it’s no wonder the word ‘extreme’ has been mentioned. Wolves are one of those tracks that you never get threats of closure or need to increase attendances with threats of closure so the facts it’s been mentioned is extremely worrying. Hats off to those promoters who were prepared to risk losing money until things opened up again which would have been just over a month. The ludicrous extra sanctions put on clubs like Wolves (and Birmingham) have made it almost impossible to continue much after the 21st. It’s the local councils that are forcing these closures which is beyond barking mad. I can see the UK leagues going on hold again until this nonsense of restrictions is fully lifted. Some clubs may never recover and this a direct result of their councils and the bs advise of experts advising the government. There is no credible science to NOT lift all restrictions on the 21st, and sports/leisure/entertainment/food and drink industries should know that it’s fine to carry on and NOT have to wait till the 14th for news. It’s beyond scandalous. -
Iversen cannot. He rides in Denmark and Sweden, plus 1st division in Poland that limits his leagues to 2.
-
There are not enough riders of suitable quality for one big league so it’s impossible. I’m glad that’s the case too. They aren’t gone. They are on hold, more teams to announce this until the ridiculous restrictions are lifted.

Wolves v Sheffield 7th June 2021

It hasn’t severely stopped the club being more than capable of running successfully for many many years. Like every club there is a break even figure and the limit at Wolves is clearly well below that currently. I’d say about 1500 are at Wolves on a usual given race night. Last weeks programme notes indicate that they won’t be able to run if their continues to be restrictions put on attendance. masks aren’t needed outside anyway so I really don’t see any issue so long as people are sensible and of course have queued up to get the vaccine it would appear there is no need for outside restrictions at all. Wolves will follow Birmingham in closing if restrictions carry on, that’s as much of a fact. -

So every time someone sneezes or coughs by you you instantly get a cough or a cold? Really? utter nonsense, we have a perfectly good immune system that stops the vast majority of the population from getting ill. So you think that Matt Hancock is lying then? Why does he and Bozo keep saying keep windows open and you can’t catch it outside?? So they might be lying you say.?? That’s the most sensible thing you have said. We know they are lying, they have done it all along. Just like how they will try justify a completely unnecessary extension of lockdown because of the ‘science’. There is no science that justifies even giving a 2nd thought to stopping the June 21st date opening up. The only science anyone needs to be concerned of is increase in R rate x increase in hospital admissions x increase in deaths. Hospitals couldn't be anymore less busy with Covid whilst deaths remain extremely low. We couldn’t be in any better place to open everything up. There is plenty of evidence that does, mentioned all the time by Hancock and co and scientists. Although in the next breath they have to remind us just how dangerous things still are. Complete bull. -

I don’t see why masks are needed outdoors. Matt Hancock keeps saying you can’t catch covid outdoors. -

I thought it said 700 max? In fairness it’s only the Poole troll that says Poole is better. The speedway world knows Poole is the worst track in the UK. -

Apparently you can’t catch it outdoors, hence why the advice to leave windows open indoors. So not true at all. -

I don’t get why masks should be worn outdoors. The advice is you can’t can’t catch it outdoors so seems a bit ridiculous. -

We have been spoiled with fantastic close racing for many years at Wolves. Not every meeting is a classic. -
They seem to have been a lot of issues for riders this season with the tyres with plenty of shredded tyres on riders social media pages. Could be why riders are suddenly losing traction and causing untold falls and injuries so far this season.

You gotta feel for the Tigers with injury to Howarth and Bates as usual completely unsafe on a bike. Full strength teams might have been a very different story. Wolves covered the rides for Rory well with 8+1. Only Bacon seems to be struggling but having a strong reserve in Broc is always a huge bonus. Racing wise was nothing to write home about which is a worry however like any speedway ANY racing to watch is better than another season cancelled. At least there were 3 or 4 decent battles but this was no classic. The big worry has to be the amount of crashes happening throughout the UK causing several riders already out injured. Seems these trees are a real issue because of the amount of injuries so far. It could have been worse, it could have been at Poole. -

It never happens at Poole, Shov only has his blue blinkers on. Poole is the worst track in the UK. We all know that. -

stevebrum replied to Beowulf's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The track has nothing to do with falls. Stop making excuses. Bates locked it too tight and caused his fall. Ellis twice caused his own falls, again nothing to do with the track. Poole track is the embarrassment of British speedway and has been for years. Thank god we haven’t got to watch that continue live on tv this season. -

Joke of the night. We all know Wimborne is one of the worst in the UK, probably the worst. How many times have riders complained about how dangerous it and been embarrassed live on TV. Total joke track.
