  1. Bjarne Pedersen holds the record with 22+1.
  2. Just caught up on this meeting. Well done Ipswich, I hope they hold on to the lead. Leicester were poor. Ipswich are so severely weakened it’s a great result for them.
  3. Only just caught up on this meeting. A decent meeting with a close scoreline to keep it interesting. However why the nonsense at the start talking about who finishes top and that Leicester could go top with 2 wins only for the Morris interview talking about why Leicester were given top spot and yet no mention of the fact that they now cannot top the table? Speedway really does make an embarrassment of itself.
  4. Well done the Brummies on an away win. Gotta feel for the Witches fans as they can’t get a win anywhere and are bang out of form carrying too many injuries. Every other team will be fighting for top position to face them in the PO’s.
  5. Depends what you define a legitimate injury tho? Pulling out with the old cracked ribs line or too sore can often be disputed when they ride for their Polish team days later. riders who have clearly taken the mick like Pawlicki and Musielak and others need strong actions however it’s that fine line between genuinely injured for one club but not another. Tricky one. I wasn’t really referring to RR more specifically being absent through injury then riding elsewhere in the same week. Those planned meetings I accept when there is a country clash. Those only tho. It just all smells a bit funny. I’m sure he will be racing in a Poland tho!
  6. To be clear, you can’t have riders deciding which meetings to do. That’s not credible or fair in the slightest. And no, rider replacement or guests isn’t very credible neither. what is ‘riding within himself’ have to do with anything? Riders can get injured at any time and are often riding within themselves because of it. Not a credible reason neither. riders missing meetings IS an issue, that’s the issue! No other country teams would allow you to just miss a meeting to suit and nor should the UK accept it. The silence from official sources is even worse. what is the valid reason why Kurtz was missing on the night? It’s a question that needs answering because he has already done it this season with zero penalty. (Yes we know all the circumstances why before anyone points them all out). We cannot accept that riders can just go missing and it not be an issue. Particularly a meeting that’s live on Eurosport, and one that showed he racing during the day in the same country. Just barmy.
  7. How poor are the Aces away? Shockingly bad. The usual meeting at Owlerton tho seems it’s the usual fare of little passing. Good to see the Tigers so dominant. Gonna be tough with rr or guest for Woffy tho in the play offs. Very silent on Kurtz, is he picking meetings again like so many taking the wee this season?
  8. They already have this season. good win at last for the Brummies. Would have lost with p000wlicki.
  9. For 10 straight seasons! No issues with his commitment.
  10. Hoping to make a trip to the NSS for this although not a fan of daytime racing. All parking advice greatly appreciated.
  11. Spent a chunk at reserve for easier rides last season. Now riding as a heat leader in the leagues weakest team but the strongest league strength in a decade. that 0.05 improvement is massive in real progress terms. Will be a steal on that average next season.
  12. Only one team brought a rider in just for the play offs alone. That was play off Bob in 2022. Thankfully the rules have been changed back to stop teams doing this again, particularly as just the one team benefited from it. Poole brought in Hancock a month before the play offs also. Both above board.
  13. Obviously when you have the best 2 riders in the league then they are virtually irreplaceable. That said any team losing their top 2 is massively up against it. Like Wolves were that year. Ipswich have gone from play off favourites to the team anyone wants to meet right now for a certain win.
  14. Just caught up on this match and probably the worst in history. Racing was non existent, the odd pass but a near complete bore fest. The Witches are waving the white flag without their top 2. Guest won’t give the other riders the confidence boost they need. Both are irreplaceable. Such a shame however we all know it’s having riders fit and in form for the start of September that matter. Many teams before them have faced the same fate sadly.
  15. Wolves lost both Freddie and Jacob as their top 2 so yes teams have been equally hit severely. I’m not sure what the answer is to it. Do we allow trophy chasing riders from abroad to join a play off team in only those situations which of course is open to abuse. Fricke wasn’t superb that year, was poor in the GPs and hadn’t scored 2 maximums all season long. It was highly unlikely he would have scored what Lambert did although not impossible of course. We know the rules were altered for one season and one team benefited from that rule change.
  16. A rule that rightly got taken out because of the lack of credibility and fairness to other teams. The rule thankfully has reverted back to pretty much how it’s been for a while now. Whether it is fair is a different argument. The ruling that no changes after 75% of matches completed and no changes for season ending injuries especially the play offs. whether it’s right or credible to allow teams to sign riders JUST for the play offs is open to debate as discussed. That all said the rule changes for 2022 allowed just 1 team to benefit greatly from it. I feel for Ipswich losing their top 2 and it’s up to them what they do moving forward. However the play offs are littered with teams hugely affected by injuries to key riders. Thems the breaks and that’s speedway. Ipswich aren’t the first team that might lose the title because of injuries and they won’t be the last. 2022 seemed an exception to the rule. And you have to wonder why it was allowed.
  17. Unless you are allowed to sign the world number 5 after any cut off dates and during the play offs of course.🤫
  18. Doing a job that doesn’t pay you mean? Feel free to offer your services at your local track. it’s quite possible track curators order there to be no raking. Just a thought.
  19. Not forgotten all the seasons prior to that when he virtually topped the averages every season.
  20. Or makes him as poor as Laguta? tbh any rider coming to the UK for the first time or mid way thru a season (even if they have been here before) is going to take time to adjust. Freddie is no different. Emil of course is an exemption to that rule plus Freddie was in the top 2 averages virtually every year he rode for wolves as number 1.
  21. Ironically Laguta must have been the worst signing of 2023.
