No unfortunately not, had some family issues to sort. Hope I can get me and my dad there soon tho.
-
He hasn’t proven to score well at all in the top flight, there is a reason why he is largely overlooked in the top flight.
-
Hasn’t done anything in the top flight before. To replace Batchelor?? Most bizarre move if that was to happen and would guarantee bottom spot.
-
Yes, he is the king of that domain. His scoring was anything but ‘head and shoulders’ last night. Just way too inconsistent in the top flight. Point noted.
-
Crump clearly isn’t fit enough which is a shame because no one wants to see him struggle like this. Cook really needs to concentrate on the CL.

Witches v wolves 28th June, TV meeting

No doubt we will see if you are right in 20 and 40 years time, if we are lucky enough to still be around of course. Considering it’s an elderly sport yet we are in the best position in many many years to have a great crop of YOUNG riders coming thru. So long as people are interested in taking up the sport (you only have to look at the amateur level to see the amount that take part) to see the sport has a fair credibility for people to try make a living at it. Thank god we have a great youth programme that should ensure the UK leagues have a rich amount of talent coming thru. Sadly the rise of the Polish superpower has seen virtually hardly any top class riders still wanting to ride here which for me has seen many turn away from attending anymore and I can’t say I disagree with them. I either want to watch the best riders in the world or the next generation in the lowest league. We have a barely credible top flight which is why ensuring we look after the next generation is absolutely paramount. -

People have been saying the sport has been dying 20 years ago and probably since the 80s. The truth is the sport is still here and continues to struggle on. I’d imagine in 20 years time people will still be saying the sport has never been poorer. I think the assumption that the sport is dying is that one day it won’t be around, I very much doubt that will be the case at all. -

People have been saying the sport is dying for 20 years or more. That’s the only point I meant. I certainly wasn’t and am not saying the quality of the sport was just as poor 20 years ago. I’m just sick and tired of people saying the sport is dying a slow death. It will still be around in another 20 years. Read comment above. -

Hospital admissions are way below the prediction made by the experts (which shows just how wrong they are) and the NHS is under no increased pressure from Covid. The experts predicted 60,000 daily by now and they are way off the mark. The truth is the variant isn’t a real issue to the UK right now. The sooner we get used to living with this virus the better, it’s going nowhere. So long as hospital admissions don’t start rising at an alarming rate (they aren’t) and deaths don’t start increasing at a rapid rate (they aren’t) then it’s time to start moving forward as a nation. The vaccine is doing its job (as well as killing some too). -

Foreign riders want to come but quite often they are no better than British youngsters but it’s one solution. ive been hearing about this continuous slow death of British Speedway for 20 years or more yet the sport carries on. The sport will continue in some form or other so long as people still support it so I see no difference now to 20 years ago. -
Yea I get that, he is a like or loathe sort of presenter. At least he isn’t Peter Yorke!
-
Yea I hope so, hoping to bring my dad along too. Be good to see live speedway again!
-
No mate, not there till they lift these stupid restrictions, Sorry Brian, but going to have to completely disagree with you regards Porkie the presenter. He always helps to create an atmosphere and is very OTT. Don’t think there are many presenters around that have the same personality and charisma as Porkie. He always involves the travelling supporters and gets a bit of banter going. Sadly lacking in today’s presentation. Can’t think of anyone better for the job.

If there is one team that could get points at Monmore it will be Sheffield. No Howarth last time so Wolves need to be on form tonight.
-
There are only a handful of riders in the Top flight that don’t ride in the CL.
-
With only 6 teams there will quite a bit of repeating of seeing the same teams. Matches involving Wolves are likely to be included because they are one of the stronger teams this season.

2 and 4 were the best gates in the last half of the meeting and had won the last 3 heats. Very easy to see why. -

Think it’s only 7 riders that ride only top flight. Every other rider rides in 2 leagues. So just where are these riders going to come from to make it one big league? Whilst I really hope they persevere with the rising star scheme it needs to be 2 for the top flight. Whilst there may be some riders gained from the NL you can add to the mix a lot just aren’t good enough for a higher league whilst the development leagues there is an even bigger gulf. So there simply isn’t enough suitable standard riders to make one big league. -

Ipswich were there for the taking tonight, commiserations to Crumpie who tried but clearly wasn’t fit enough, although Allen let them down big time. Wolves sealed the deal in the last race but a good team effort to get the 4 points which is exactly what they should have done tonight. Decent meeting, although a little stop start. -

How can a youngster ‘choke’. he has already more than done his job. His gating is superb, same as last at Peterborough. He isn’t expected to be this confident and good at this stage of his career. -
Your quote questioned the signing with a question mark. Thankfully the right decision. id always prefer watching a proper young riding star anyway.
-
And it’s a fact we did the right thing signing him.

Leon is showing yet again why we have plenty of decent British talent coming through. Excellent signing for Wolves. Ipswich for the taking tonight, we should be going for the win.
