  1. despite the scoreline, there was some very good races. Aarons race with Anderson was thrilling. Riders and Victor in particular seemed more willing to attack the track and it paid off big style. compared to the carnage we witnessed a few weeks ago against Sheffield this seemed a proper racers track. Was also being run so quickly till we had an extended track grade which was over long. Victors looking like the rider we thought we signed, very clever 1st and 2nd bends with some help from his team mates.
  2. several heart in mouth moments last night, Sarjeant in Heat 1 not clearing the track and putting the other riders and his own safety at risk, Kaukos pass on bend 4, Worrals amazing pass in heat 10 ? and Fishers impersonation of Kasper Lykke coming out of bend 2 nearly taking someones front wheel. Much better entertainment, slickly run, great fun for the kids with their own wee race(which means they pester mum and dad to come back every week!) and getting the use of the floodlights. well done both teams and the promotion. This is the level of entertainment we need to maintain.
  3. also seem to remember seeing aaron summers spend 5 or 10 minutes on the centre green helping one of the junior riders who had bike issues in the 2nd half at the Sheffield meeting perhaps? didn't have to do it, credit where its due, and riding well as you say.
  4. Glad bjerres ok after very awkward crash.couldnt get off the bike at all. Was worried we were going to have same carnage as the sheffield medting, but track improvrd a bit. Not much racing again im afraid.
  5. Doubt if dimitri snd victor would agree. Berge must have seen more lockers than a high school janny tonight. As well as all the fallers i have never seen so many riders chuck it during a race.
  6. I have never seen anything like that before, birks in the ambulance, nick in the treatment room and compton in the airfence. There was no track inspection, just spud directing tractors. Was it too much dirt, i think theres more too it. When garrity fell whilst well ahead an air of resignation and farce set in. In one race josh bates took racing lines never too be seen again with paalovaara watching on from a safe distance which tonight was the length of a back straight.. dvd of this is not for the faint hearted.
  7. thought the Kurtz/Berge decision would turn it our way, but not to be. no mention how young Dimitri managed to squeeze back past Kurtz going into bend 3, very brave move. tigers threw away a lot of points but didn't do enough to deserve the win. Bit concerned with David Howe, its a lot of points to play with if hes only picking up 3or 4 a meeting, hopefully will come good, not for a lack of effort. well done the Panthers though.
  8. glad this is happening because the track has been poor in the past, as many temporary tracks seem to be recently. felt cheated last year for payin nearly £100 for the ticket alone ! , only to watch farcical racing with riders lifting all over the place. practice meeting gets my vote any time.
  9. Track seemed to catch out a fair few riders today, glad we got through it with no major incident. Afraid around 12 races ftg didnt do much for entertainment value.
  10. its been raining for a while now in Glasgow, just had a fairly heavy shower. been showers on and off most of the day. brightening up a bit now.
  11. almost an entire home side off form on the same day, we got off lightly IMO. was surreal watching the visiting team reeling in the home riders, just knowing they were going to get past. credit where its due.
  12. Time for heat 1 was 57.5, thats how many minutes it took to run it. Couldnt make this up today. Awful 3 hour meeting which descended into farce. Must be some reason we couldnt do green light starts. Afraid we lost the plot today. Thoughts are with kozza.
  13. some very good racing early on/mid meeting, then we had dust and it was all FTG. Much improved from victor palovaara today. Mostly good value for money today but delays again mostly due to riders moving at starts hope young nielsens ok,
  14. Glad it all went well last night, despite the darkest skies in speedway history !!! Track looked in great condition but strangely in many races the home riders stayed mid track instead of chasing the dirt which seemed to suit the visitors a bit more in some races. Even though he didn't score many points ash birks was great to watch. I know Josh Bates is getting a bit of stick for his reaction but years ago we craved some bust ups on track, riders chargin up to the ref box et all. good on him for givin his all in every race. well done all concerned and hope Scottish Speedway sees the benefits this season.
  15. Was hoping for better racing. Several good races, granted, but too many FTG considering we had great weather Worrying number of riders clipping the airfence out of bend 2.
  16. 2 passes from 5 rides on Sunday at the Peugeot Ashfield Stadium of I have seen the Light. Heat 10 Bend 4 last lap round Rusty, bit of role reversal there and a cut back on Heat 15 Bend 2 Lap 4 past Howarth. Rides some of the best 1st and 2 bends I have seen. Gets as close to the opposition as I have seen any other rider. No complaints from me!
  17. enjoyable meeting with more good races than bad. Workington were perhaps better than the score suggests as konopka fell whist in scoring positions twice, I think. considering he gets a fair bit of negative comments I have seen a lot worse(looked much faster than his fellow reserve) and a lack of effort isn't an issue for him. if we ever get decent weather then the tracks gonnae serve up a cracker soon, 7 days time perhaps?
  18. Surprised racing wasnt better today with lots of ftg races which isnt the norm at ashfield recently. Early days of course. Good show from visitors today, well done bandits.
  19. The back straight viewing just below the pits(yes, below the pits) is fantstic. Bit of a fright when young Riss crashed out just below me though he managed to make the medics laugh!. Hopes he is ok.
  20. Damned if we ran, damned if we didnt. Track was like porridge and jusr as it wss drying another shower comes along. Rider safety! Borderline decision.
  21. only had a quick walk round the Peugeot Ashfield Stadium !!!!!!! today(after all the bikes were packed away). Still lots of work going on but its now a speedway stadium with a football pitch in the middle opposed to the other way round. Viewing of the track seems to be paramount with virtually no obstructions other than the electricity thing at the old pits bend 2. Looked like there was more room going into bend 1 but it could have been the fact you are now down track level making it seem wider. Huge Peugeot signage over the old greyhound scoreboard. Remember theres more to come, must be a dream...is it?.....
  22. Good to have michael max back, was hoping we could have pinched a few feet on the entrance/exits of the bends with the walls maybe going
  23. Any mention of track shape, were we able to widen at all?
  24. whenever you see sport on the TV, Interviews are generally held in front of a board with all the sponsors names etc. Would be a great way to get all our sponsors names all over social media if we had one in the pits(for press) and perhaps one at the Tunnel area of the main stand so when the kids are getting there photos taken with riders it looks great and spreads the word for free.
