  1. Both sides played their part in a very entertaining meeting. Might not win any silverware this year apart from best track in the league.
  2. Well done Glasgow track staff for getting a smooth safe surface just 48 hours after major flooding. Been a joy to watch this team at this amazing track, no matter the outcome in second leg.
  3. Sam Jensen available? . 3rd time lucky in play offs for Sam? Seem to remember he had 2 previous attempts. Very good round Ashfield. Not afraid to take the wide line.
  4. Worrying number of incidents exiting bend 2. Most resulted in riders hitting mesh fence instead of the poly foam. Wonder if something should be done.
  5. Really enjoyed the racing tonight. If 10 or 11 races out of 15 have passes in them then no complaints here.
  6. Not a great watch but considering the rain the track took all day it was surprising meeting even started. Well done track staff.
  7. Crowds have improved recently(2019) as the track improvements have produced better racing. First time visitors more likely to return if the racings like last year. Still room for improvement with lengthy tractor breaks and presentation but its really dream land for us just now. Very few huge home wins maybe shows how fair the tracks now become too.
  8. No title at Glasgow this year, so well done Lions on the title. Plenty digs at the "money men" not winning the title but these individuals have just served up the most entertaining season of speedway I can remember. Makes them winners too I reckon.
  9. Enjoyed that. As said Anders Rowe could be the difference between the sides. Very impressed by him. Several great heats tonight and no matter what happens in the 2nd leg we have been well entertained this season.
  10. Reasonable day weather wise, loads of dark clouds. Sunshine around 5pm. 5.30 pm clouds open for 15 minutes or so. Feel sorry for any travelling fans.
  11. Ashfield has served up some great racing this year. Vast majority of meetings have been terrific value for money with passing from both sides unlike a few years ago when FTG was the norm. I cannot fathom why folk can't accept that last week fell well short of that standard.
  12. Fair comment re Scunny riders and Paul Starke. Still a farce of a meeting though.
  13. Not sure anyone really attacked that track. Glasgow Speedway is much better than tonight served up. Results are secondary to entertainment for me. Understand we needed to get meeting on and lots of hard work went into it but when riders can't turn the bike it's not really good to watch. Scunthorpe thoroughly deserved to win.
  14. This whole scenarios a bit strange. From earlier reports riders are at high speed, ramming into marshalls, close to kids, putting everyone at risk when it appears they are trundling round when a Marshall makes a split second decision, probably well intentioned, that backfires big style. Wish every meeting was like this, get the crowds back big style.
  15. Marshall is walking infield then takes 2 steps to left. Not a deliberate running into. Poor reaction from Craig but having seen it several times it looks more like a shoulder charge than a deliberate headbutt. However the Marshall could have been injured by Craig's visor and equally Craig could have been hurt by collision too. Both in the wrong to some extent and disappointed in our captain's reaction BUT it's nowhere near as bad as has been made out. Reeks of a witch hunt and not very dignified.
  16. Rasser and cookie grab the headlines.Paul Starkes been every bit as important in the last month or so. Strange to see so many passes from visiting riders but sums up the racetrack we now have.
  17. As good as last night was I still think we will see better from the track when there's a bit more dirt on it when there's no threat of rain. Several riders seemed to struggle with visibility last night. Scott Nicholas wiping visor mid bend is unusual to see.
  18. Glasgow were a wee bit fortunate tonight and some dubious tight finishes swung it our way. Good entertainment again tonight with several decent races. Leicester played there part and Connor mountain and Ryan Douglas especially looked very comfortable around Ashfield.
  19. Wonderful end to what had been a very average meeting. 2 even teams with 1 stand out rider. Anyone who questions Craig Cooks signing should witness heat 15 tonight. Breathtaking.
  20. Really poor racing tonight. Fortunately it was over quickly. Watching riders 20 yards apart after 1 lap isn't good enough. Fans are being short changed. No fault of the promotion and the riders , just a sport shooting itself in the foot again.
  21. How times have changed. Thought it was the poorest meeting this season, too many strung out races, then Cookie misses the gate and we get some superb passing. Only by this year's standard this wasnt Ashfield at it's finest.
