Kings Lynn vs Ipswich Witches May 17th 7.30pm
kevin bass replied to Arch Stanton's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I can't see any tickets being available on the day really, it'll surely be tickets in advance and season ticket holders having first chance of tickets, not being funny but who would want to drive x amount of miles to a speedway meeting on the off chance when you get there they still have tickets available to get in, I'd rather have guaranteed admission before i set out on a journey. -
King's Lynn Stars 2020
kevin bass replied to Daniel Smith's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Im sure i read somewhere or heard that red shale has always been available but as all the quarrys are based up north it isn't the cheapest option to transport down. -
s I've been scrolling thru doing various Foxhall/Spedeworth Google searches but can't actually find anything about capacity numbersmost I've found is backstraight terracing holds 3,500 and backstraight stand holds 1,500, so that's 5,000 along the backstraight only, i know their often had 10,000 to 15,000 in the stadium for big Hotrod/Stockcar meets, and likewise had them same kind of numbers at speedway back in the day

A chap who works as a contractor at my company has a partner who works on the turnstiles at Foxhall and she was talking to Julie Louis only last wk and she said Ipswich wouldn't be able to run without spectators and would be financial suicide.
-
Thought he'd long retired and must be mid to late 30's by now, my everlasting memory of Simota was leaving Mark Loram no room on the outside down the backstraight at Foxhall which left Loram on the stockcar track and the crash finished his career.

Book "Tales From The Top Drawer" by Kelvin Tatum
kevin bass replied to steve roberts's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I think only the first 200/300 had Tatum's autograph i read somewhere, got my dad a copy for Christmas and he said it was a very good read -
Just see on twitter that some scumbag has stolen Danny's Ayres bike and equipment
-
I remember a young Mark Loram coming to Foxhall with the Hawks in i think 1987, was probably his first season, he got out of gate infront of Donc and Jem was a bit harsh forcing his way past the young upstart

Our vending machines are no longer getting filled up and we don't have access to a canteen but have been advised to only have a maximum of 6 people in the rest room at any given time and observe the 2m rule, and wait for it, if we don't feel safe eating with others then eat in our cars! And getting back to the 2m rule we work closer then that on the shop floor!!
-
Yeah mate we're just been issued an official looking pass from the company to carry at all times to produce if we're stopped by the police whilst heading to or from work, i wanna know if the police class my trip to and from work as my essential trip out for the day how do i then head again to do some essential shopping without the police then stopping me again and hitting me with a bloody fine!
-
Talking about essential supplies, i work in the paint industry (Dulux paint) and we have to keep working because apparently we're classed as one of the essential jobs! I fill paint tins for christ sake so hardly a key worker who has to still attend work.

Lambert to comeback stronger.?
kevin bass replied to Sidney the robin's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I think Lambert still always struggle to mix it with the big boys on a regular basis until he learns the art of gating, you can't give the quality riders a head start from the gate and more often then not Robert misses the start, he's not as bad a gater as Harris but not a whole lot better either. -
I don't see why Jason can't hold his own and average 7ish, he scored 9 and 10 in the winter test matches against a team including Woffenden and Bewley, the league is watered down and he'll probably do no worse then Danny King or Cameron Heeps to be fair.
-
So what average does Drew come in on then, i thought you had to have a minimum 3 point average? If Jason comes in at 8.21 does it leave enough for a 3 pointer.
-
Do we really want to be taking a risk on a flaky pole who may struggle with the small Foxhall track compared to the big tracks in Poland and also leave their best equipment back home rather then bring it over here?
-
Oops my mistake, i for one would like to see Scott have another season at Foxhall, he would be good enough to beat most of the visiting heat leaders at home.
-
Wasn't Chris quoted last season as saying he didn't want to embarrass Scott with the deal he was able to offer him? I doubt much has changed since last season with what Scott wants deal wise even tho he can no longer demand heat leader money, yeah he would make a very good reserve round Foxhall and a few away tracks but would struggle at Peterborough and Belle Vue.
-
Well if the Holder visa rumour is true then Ipswich could have trouble getting a decent big hitter, Lindback wasn't great when he returned for Poole a few seasons back and we all know KK is very hit and miss.
-
Yeah Ben broke his arm in 12 places i seem to recall and that pretty much finished him, he sat out a couple of seasons after that I believe before riding for Mildenhall in 02 or haps 03 but was really to good for that standard of racing at the time and after that just slipped out of racing.
-
Know what your saying pinny, Ben Howe was worth the entrance money alone and luckily couldn't gate for toffee's so was always good entertainment, a group of us used to sponsor Ben back in the day and i still say to this day if he had of had the backing Sal got he would of gone haps a lot further in the sport.

I'm sure many years ago Jem Doncaster's brother Nick Doncaster had his throttle/clutch swapped over after he had a bad crash which left him unable to use it the normal way, saying that i thought Nick was actually looking the better rider of the two when they both took to the shale.
-
I know Rohan Tungate isn't British but didn't he come from a motorcycle racing background in Australia before trying his luck at speedway, also Jean-Michel Bayle not British again but he was a multi world champion in Motocross, he didn't really have that much success when he joined the Moto gp paddock, in either the 250cc or 500cc classes.

Cheers Screm for that, that's where i read about what i posted but wasn't sure how to copy and paste it or link it to my post.
