  1. Scary thing is that it feels like yesterday when you start to remember the names but it's like 30 plus yrs ago now
  2. Wasn't it Kalina who joined the witches the same time as fellow Czech Sam Tesar.
  3. I can beat that, what about when Kevin Teager came back, he actually had a few decent meetings tbf.
  4. Showing my age a bit now but as i mentioned Ben Howe earlier what ever happened to Jerran Hart, i remember he got sent down a few yrs ago but he was the next big thing as a 15/16yr old, there's been many a young lad second half round Foxhall at 15/16yr old and have different levels of success as a speedway rider, Loram, Louis, Howe, Tacey, Clouting, Lanham, King and most recently Kemp.
  5. Andre Pollehn was another dud, Jan Jaros also, and not forgetting a couple of iffy Aussies Steve Widt/Craig Hyde
  6. Ben Howe was a bit like Kemp and had plenty of talent but not always the right attitude and didn't have tip top machinery, me and a few mates used to sponsor him when he first got a place in the team, i remember at the time when a big thing was made of him being made a Jawa works rider, the kit he actually got was second hand most of it and not worth having.
  7. It could well be that much these days, going back many yrs when Tim Woodward sponsored the Witches his money would cover the stadium rent for the season which was probably 20k-30k.
  8. The top GP boys no doubt are on top money if the rumours from last season were correct and that Lambert was on 5k a meeting for Belle Vue, but it's the guaranteed bit i don't like about these deals, no riders gonna bust a gut if he gets paid the same if he scores 2 points or 12 points.
  9. I'm sure it was mentioned b4 either on this thread or another one that Dudek was after summit like 6k a meeting guaranteed, whether that's true or not who knows.
  10. Thought it was mentioned on another thread that Ash Morris may of retired, ain't seen Clegg or Kemp announced in any teams thus far.
  11. Don't think Ryan Kinsley is fixed up with a team place for this coming season at the mo who rode at NL level the season just gone.
  12. Tbf to Kemp he was unlucky at Sheffield, he was signed as a reserve but as the rest of the team struggled he moved up into the main body of the team way to early and then found it hard riding at number 2 thereafter which knocked his confidence somewhat.
  13. There's only Birmingham, Plymouth and Poole left with one team slot available and all 3 of these have only a space left for a rider around a 4 point average.
  14. It's strange that no team in the championship fancied him either, and i don't think the few clubs left to name their final 1 to 7 can fit him in.
  15. Kemp has got the talent but needs to toughen up both mentally and also on track, far to often he has a bad first ride or 2 and his head drops and on track he seems to back off to easily if situations get tight or if he misses the gate.
  16. I can see it being Worral and Batchelor if plan A don't pan out, that is if plan A is Emil or another GP rider plus Hume.
  17. Sounds like it's gonna be Worral and Batch thenunless Doyle can sweet talk Holder whilst their together in Oz to join him up at Foxhall
  18. I did hear at the end of the season that Edwards wouldn't be back so they needed a decent number 1 to replace him.
  19. Yeah it's a numbers game as we all know and Worral for sure or even Batch will probably end up getting a gig at either Ipi or Peterborough when it's all finally sorted.
  20. It always used to be assessed at 8 points for GP riders and those that had ride in Poland/Sweden and alike but im sure it was posted on here ages ago that that was changed to 9 points after Ipi got Gollob signed on a low average yrs ago, mind you it could be argued that Emil isn't currently a GP rider nor ride in other international leagues
  21. Yeah i mentioned it previously, he also didn't score that well when he rode at Foxhall this season with Sheffield, 0 from 3 rides and 3 from 3 rides looking at the scores from this season just gone, he might score better then Hume away from home on certain tracks but probably not round Foxhall.
  22. Like been said he's got the talent when he takes it seriously, 2 or 3 seasons ago Heeps spent pre season training with Scotty and came into the season looking trim and fit and it showed on track but sadly it was a one off, he's still young enough to turn it around but it's up to him to be more professional about it all.
