  1. Great win for the Lions last night despite the meeting being ruined by a) the weather and b) the referee. The downpour in the afternoon really put paid to the track and certainly 'levelled' it us as far as any home advantage was concerned but then along came Agent Turnbull to put matters right lol! Couldn't see why Rew was excluded in Ht 3 - thought it was going to be first bend bunching but hey ho the way he was riding last night he would,ve probably fallen off anyway Max Fricke should have been excluded in Ht 13 I reckon - we were expecting it so was surprised when he wasn't ... Beckers exclusion looked harsh from where we watching but I guess if there was the slightest contact you go down .... Masters gate in Ht 15 unreal - match winning ride there Sam .... Credit to both sets of riders for giving it a go on a very difficult track and commiserations to the Witches who, had they had their 2 top riders would no doubt of walked the League and smashed the Play-Offs, however they didn't and Lions are in the Play-Off Final for the first time in their history! Congrats to the Lions, Stewart Dickson and all - onwards and upwards as they say ....
  2. Dont think we have too much of an issue at Beaumont Park - its on our away travels that the team is just not up to scratch .....
  3. This team just not good enough ..... Harsh comment but nobody is proving that statement wrong ...
  4. Lions threw this meeting away - Dougy looking left when he should.ve looked right, Masters going from a winning 1-5 to last place in Ht 15 ... Another away meeting goes missing
  5. Lions missed opportunities at a depleted Sheffield last week and a depleted Ippo this week - good to see Scottie still has it though!
  6. Lions are ok at home but pretty ordinary away from Beaumont Park. Not emough race winners to do any damage in this League I am afraid. Hats off to Lawson - good performance from him .... to be fair to Fricke paid for 8 from 3 and then tailed off when you need him most - rest just solid but not enough. Hey ho - at least we will see a few more wins at BP! Cheers
  7. Anybody know what Average Danyon Hume is for 2022?
  8. As a Lions fan - I agree with that Summary foreverblue ..... did not expect that result .... really impressed with Danyon Hume and Rory Schlein .... Basso certainly looks a talent. Disappointed with Harris as guest for Hans .... Track needed more dirt on it tonight to make it harder to ride for the opposition ... no excuses though as the better team deservedly won.
  9. Thanks - wasn't sure if he was fit or not ..... guess it will be Harris then ... pleased with that anyway!
  10. So does anybody know if Chris Harris is guesting for Hans Andersen again on Sat night ? What about Richard Lawson if not or is he injured at present ? Come on you Lions!
  11. RIP Roman Matousek Concur with the comments about him being a strong lad - recall it being said he had the strongest forearms in Speedway at the time and you certainly not want to arm wrestle him !! An entertainer for certain - never a dull moment when Roman was on track - not sure his own teammates were entirely comfortable riding with him ? lol I see to remember him as being essentially a 5-6 point rider who showed glimpses of better talent on occasion - recall one meeting at Coventry where he was a reserve and took 4 rides on the trot against some team - the first three races won in blistering form and the fourth he was leading until the Bike went bang big-time - never the same rider after that as believe it was a catastrophic and expensive bike loss. 55 Years of age too young for anyone to pass away - thoughts are with his family.
  12. That's exactly what GB Speedway needs ... "riders on a level playing field and they can all beat each other on any given night" .... good close racing !!!
  13. Swindon might have signed better riders so far you mean - how many GSA points have Robins signed v Sheffield so far ? Anybody know what GSA Nicki Pedersen will start on ?
  14. Would be happy with something like .... Nick Morris Ryan Douglas Kyle Howarth Josh Bates / Ellis Perks Connor Mountain Danyon Hume / ANO 4.00 pointer Joe Lawler - possible Thompson 2.00 Does it fit ?
  15. Massive thanks to the departing Scott Nicholls for his efforts as a rider and as our influential captain in Season 2019 - huge respect for the guy as an accomplished speedway rider over many years .... hope the future holds good things for you wherever you end up Scotty !!
