  1. Sad to see Stead struggling so badly at Brough. I can remember him scoring maximums here in the past. Would have a been much closer if Garrity had been around but Bates did ride especially well
  2. Robbie Foy only seemed rubbish in comparison. He actually averaged about 4.5.
  3. Hard to envisage a 6 man team winning the league but you never know.
  4. What is the parking like around the stadium? Just attending the final on the Saturday and not staying in the area.
  5. Heat 13 Stead's back wheel clipped Lamberts front wheel coming out of bend 2 but it looked as much Robert's fault trying to cut back under Stead.
  6. What happened to Robin? I remember him well from the Felton training track
  7. So, how is the viewing at the new stadium? I have tickets for the west terrace for the World Cup Final (not many tickets left). Will I be getting a good view?
  8. One of the vagaries of the rules is that Glasgow were able to use a tac ride due to being 10 points down to a weakened Diamonds team whereas the Diamonds never got the opportunity at Glasgow by being more competitive. In a real play off situation I would back a full Newcastle team to see off the Tigers.
  9. Newcastle look very strong towards the end of meetings. Was a little worried at only 9 up with 5 heats to go as Wells could easily win his remaining 3 rides at Brough but our heat leaders are very much doing their jobs at home.
  10. Enjoyable meeting. Some decent racing in the first 10 heats as the Bandits consistently gated on the Diamonds. Newcastle look very strong in those last 5 heats though.
  11. If Lambert could count and Lidgren and Rose hadn't fallen on paid wins we would have had four unbeaten Diamonds. Difficult to tell if we look very strong or the Bears very weak. Both I suspect.
  12. Any reason why the Diamonds have linked to Rene Bach's website on Facebook?
  13. The very definition of not getting involved
  14. Could someone explain how Kus is a loner who never got involved but still managed to spend all of his time fighting and arguing with team mates?
  15. His inconsistency is based on an inability to pass. He gates, he wins He gates behind a 3 year old pedalling a Triang, he finishes behind the 3 year old pedalling a Triang ( or has an 'engine failure')
  16. The drag racing requests are last minute as one of the two main strips in the UK has been sold for (go on, guess) housing. The amateur levels of the sport can not survive on one track so another venue is required. As this site already has clearance for motorsport then people are asking about the possibility (that said, 20 F1 cars are nowhere near as loud as one top fuel dragster). The main issue for the drag guys is not the quarter mile strip but the 3/4 of mile they need to slow down. Rumour has it the current organisers at COW of not really interested in car racing. The aim is more for bikes and track days.
  17. It killed Newcastle last time we tried and if we close again, we're done for as we would never get planning permission to reopen at Brough Park. Absolutely not worth the risk.
  18. I have visited both and know they are excellent racetracks. It would just be nice for people to acknowledge that, given the difficulties of the enforced shape, Newcastle is an excellently prepared track and only riders who lack throttle control skills think it is terrible. Anyone who thinks you can't race on it should watch Ludvig Lindgren take to the outside line week in week out.
  19. Edinburgh and Newcastle? What happened to those 'wonder tracks' Scunthorpe and Somerset? I was under the impression they were perfect.
