He got his average away from #1 though. He is up against better riders now so an average drop is not unexpected, especially away, where he is erratic at the best of times.
Lindgren was terrible. Two of his three points were gifts.
Morris was excellent and Wethers certainly put the effort in but 60 points are likely to be the norm I’m afraid.
Highlighted every weakness in the Diamonds team. If Wilko and Morris can’t score at least 8 at reserve we have no chance.
That said, we have lost by more at Sheffield with better teams on paper
I'm not exactly delighted with the team but I've been going since 1975 and I'm not going to stop now. I've seen us have great teams and poor teams before now and my enjoyment of speedway comes from the racing. We have plenty of racers in the team so I shall be giving them my full support. I have nothing to do with Newcastle Speedway other than attending for 43 years (with the gap years when shut). I get my moneys worth when Robbo or Lindgren blast past people on the outside of the 4th bend and hope to see plenty of it this season.
Jeez, the internet hasn’t turned People into a bunch of soft ollies.
i can remember going to press day and no-one knew who any of the team were. A team that then went on to win every competition put in front of them.
Don’t panic!
Prefer a proper #1. I remember the Josef Franc at #1 years when we would be close to teams Home and and away and lose heats 13 and 15 by 10-2 to lose the match.
Lindgren the only nailed on name I would say.
Would love to see Ricky Wells finally become a Diamond rather than every other teams favourite Brough Park guest
