  1. They both took the same highly prevalent drug (cocaine). The other detected chemical is not a drug but a breakdown product of cocaine. It stays in the system longer than the cocaine.
  2. I’ll be going with a very good weather forecast given that I wasted 2 hours and 3 gallons of diesel driving down on a gloriously sunny Sunday just to be sent home.
  3. I took a first timer along on Saturday and he thoroughly enjoyed it and is currently waiting to buy early bird tickets for next year. As a local, the ‘sights’ of Cardiff were no big deal so his enjoyment was all about how fantastic speedway is. Yes the track was crap but as a fan without a track now, I still really enjoyed it. Let’s be honest, at least 70% of speedway races feature no passing and a strung out field.
  4. Shambolic system as the reviews of the app on the AppStore will tell you.
  5. Euromillions jackpot is £191 million on Friday. Good luck!
  6. Regarding sponsors, I am a heat sponsor and have received no communication from the promotion.
  7. Track can’t have been that bad as Wells and Harris scored double the points they did when guesting for the Diamonds. Had they scored those points then, the Diamonds would likely have two more home wins.
  8. It certainly wasn’t “embarrassing” tonight. If Harris had scored his expected 10 and Complin another 4/5 from his fall and engine problems Newcastle would have won on the night. That said, we desperately need a #1 who will at least score double figures at home (best this season is 6) and a reserve to score at least 3 at home. Right now I don’t care about away defeats. We need to win at home to keep the club going.
  9. You have just proved that averages don’t tell the whole story of team strength. It was a strong Stoke team at Brough Park. It had 2 former Newcastle #1’s and another rider who usually rides Brough very well. On paper, they should have won but as we all know, speedway isn’t run on paper.
  10. I was encouraged by Sunday. To beat a pretty strong Stoke select containing a couple of Brough specialists with a non contributing #1 and a brand new #7 made me hope for a decent set of home results as even if BWD and Congreve don’t meet their averages but do improve, then I think the rest of the team will carry us over the line more often than not. I expect a few hammerings away but that doesn’t tend to affect the crowds at home which is the main thing for now.
  11. Joe Owen before his first big injury at Hull. Whilst he was a solid second heat leader in the BL and NL #1 afterwards he wasn’t quite the rider he had been. 1976 the year before his accident and aged 19 NNL avg 11.54 inc 28 full maximums in 39 matches BL avg 8.86 inc 2 full maximums in 10 matches (bearing mind how strong the BL was in those days
  12. Whit is his gating like? A good gater can probably make a 4 point average at Brough.
