I'm glad that you found it entertaining. Here are comments from others who watched. All taken from this thread. "this is disgusting" "an awful advert for speedway" "what a shambles" "farce" "this is an absolute disgrace. I'm embarrassed" "is it any wonder I've hardly been to a meeting in years?" "you couldn't make this up" "football time for me" "I'm ready to come home. now. Utterly fed up. Farce" "they wonder why the Elite League is dying . Prime example .right here." "Sod this crap I'm turning over to watch football, even though I don't like football" "got to be better than this" "amateurish nonsense" "lower the Elite League coffin in the hole. Garbage" That's what a forum is for. Different opinions. Regards. Alan. -

Swedish Elitserien 2014, Round 14
brandonbee48 replied to Ghostwalker's topic in International World of Speedway
Speedway, Norrköping Tonight NT could reveal that the wolves leave WO towards smiths. The reason is all about the club's strained finances. The battle to decide which team would get the playoff run was stopped after seven heats in Eskilstuna. As the leading blacksmiths at home against Wolves with 24-18 when the rain came and put a stop to all the possibilities to determine the duel on Tuesday. The teams sat in long meetings before agreed a new date. The match would be run on Wednesday instead. Now it's not that either. It is the club's already stretched finances behind the decision. - The board has been in session now, and decided to leave, we will walk over to the game. The main reason is the short time that it gets to a playoff game when we lose more time. We do not feel we have time to sell it properly and dare not risk anything with the season we had behind us with too little income and more rain matches already, says Johan overpriced. He left the dramatic announcement to the NT port shortly after midnight. - It's obviously very sad to have to take such a decision, but we feel we must do it. It is particularly sad at the drivers who are so keen to this, and to get a playoff run. Thus ends Wednesday's match, according SVEMO regulations 45-0 to smiths who can thus look forward to a playoff game as Wolves thus miss now. For the fifth consecutive season. - There's this news I can give right now, we have been told that the meeting this evening about the situation that has become. Can it get more dramatic decisions in the future, as to request a sit down in the headlines because of the economy? - No, there should not be any danger. Now we leisurely start working for next season. We have had good control on spending this year, but failed on the revenue side. Translation (somewhat) of the remarks of Vargarna's chairman. Shame as , despite "my team" going through, I am a firm believer that all sports should be decided (in speedway's case ) on the track. It was an absorbing scenario with Smederna needing to win by 12 and 6 up after 7 heats. Now we will never know. Regards. Alan. -

You actually watched 7 heats which is when the rain came down and finally washed it out. They did an amazing job just to get it on after torrential rain in Eskilstuna . Whether the racing would have improved as the track dried out we will never know. The difference was that this was a proper speedway meeting in front of a good crowd whereas Monday night at Brandon was "Amateur Night At The Rubbish Tip". with the officials and riders almost outnumbering spectators. Unlike the UK the Swedes do publish their attendance figures. And this was a televised meeting on a bad weather night. It may not be perfect but Swedish speedway is in a lot better shape than the UK- and I don't get any pleasure out of saying that, as I watch the Elite League disintegrating. Regards. On a positive note , from past experience, the Swedes are very good at getting a RACEABLE track after a downpour. "Optimism " is my middle name. Just hope they stay with it and not call it a day like they did last week. Our saviour last week with a stream from C-More is at the track!! -

I'd have to see it again but i thought they got 2 flags up as soon as it became apparent that Berntzon was staying down. I think it was Prezedpelski who was a bit asleep at the wheel. Luckily no one got hurt. Oh we speedway fans are a patient lot aren't we? -

Always a tough one when a rider gets out of shape in front of you. Always feel it should be "All 4 BacK" but iknow someone has to go and there will always be differing opinions as to who. Bummer only getting the last lap of heat 7 because of the ads. Who bigged up Zengota earlier.? "Guilty, m'lud"" Is our local correspondent able to give us an update from trackside on the weather and track conditions ? -

Off to a good start in heat 1, but a looooooooooooooooong way to go. Zengota was really good in the Polish Individual Final last Thursday, so that's another plus. Hope springs eternal. From all the places you visited, was there one city that stood out? Or were they all enjoyable? Track is a bit heavy but i've seen a lot worse. Now the opening heats are out of the way i think we should see some good racing. -

My friend Ghostwalker has given me the result already. Seriously it will be an interesting comparison. Even as the oldest Bees fan around I have to say that was awful. I try to watch through the eyes of a first-timer- without whom we die, and I would have been totally embarrassed trying to big that one up. But, tomorrow is a new day Scarlett. All the best. Alan. -

Absolutely awful advert for the sport.Just imagine telling a first timer ' It's not always like this". Unfortunately the spectator entertainment value at most Elite League meetings is minimal. Even with the reduced admission charge which first timer would go back again ? Good Swedish meeting tomorrow to make a comparison with. Regards. Alan. -

If Jepsen Jensen had spent less time gardening at the start and playing elbow handbags with Gustaffson, he might not have been on the end of an 8-1. Poor. -
