  1. On a positive note , from past experience, the Swedes are very good at getting a RACEABLE track after a downpour. "Optimism " is my middle name. Just hope they stay with it and not call it a day like they did last week. Our saviour last week with a stream from C-More is at the track!!
  2. I'd have to see it again but i thought they got 2 flags up as soon as it became apparent that Berntzon was staying down. I think it was Prezedpelski who was a bit asleep at the wheel. Luckily no one got hurt. Oh we speedway fans are a patient lot aren't we?
  3. Always a tough one when a rider gets out of shape in front of you. Always feel it should be "All 4 BacK" but iknow someone has to go and there will always be differing opinions as to who. Bummer only getting the last lap of heat 7 because of the ads. Who bigged up Zengota earlier.? "Guilty, m'lud"" Is our local correspondent able to give us an update from trackside on the weather and track conditions ?
  4. Correct decision to exclude Berntzon in heat 6 with no contact from Doyle.
  5. My wife went to a conference in Riga a few years ago and was very impressed.I'd like to see the St Petersburg symphony doing the 1812 overture with cannons and fireworks blasting in the night sky.We all have our quirks.
  6. Off to a good start in heat 1, but a looooooooooooooooong way to go. Zengota was really good in the Polish Individual Final last Thursday, so that's another plus. Hope springs eternal. From all the places you visited, was there one city that stood out? Or were they all enjoyable? Track is a bit heavy but i've seen a lot worse. Now the opening heats are out of the way i think we should see some good racing.
  7. Ghostwalker said he had been on a bike again recently but no indication as to when a track return happens. Get tonight successfully out of the way first . We hope!! Thanks for the wishes and great to see you here again. Have you been travelling to far off exotic lands? Alan.
  8. Hi all. Fingers crossed "Rain, rain, stay away ". Find out shortly. Still reeling from the spellbinder in front of a packed house at Brandon last night. "Go Smederna"
  9. Great news for Smederna's UK and USA based supporters, but who is their Swedish based fan? Super news and joy in the streets of Eskilstuna. Ghostwalker beams. All the best. Alan.
  10. I'm just glad that Zengota stayed on. I thought he was about to be launched downtown. Very enjoyable. Take care all. Alan.
  11. Hampel is riding like he's going through a divorce in which his wife has been awarded alimony of all his points money for the next year and he says "You get nothingski"
  12. The bike seemed to bounce back and hit his left shoulder. Bang goes my hope of no injuries.
  13. The pits looks more like the interior of a shopping centre. Very plush. My favourite little guy Marek commentating and perhaps we will get Daria showing up shortly.!! May they all go home in one piece- and may the one piece in red go home with me. All kidding aside it is a quality field and difficult to pick a winner. As long as we get good racing and no injuries i'll salute the winner- whoever it may be.
  14. I'll go for Zmarzlik, Piotr Pawlicki and KK in that order. I hope also that we see a Hampel different to the one we have seen recently. Join you all in an hour.
  15. They did have a quick graphic (and we know how those can be! ) during yesterday's meeting, showing the next 3 matches and Friday wasn't on it. Be a shame as we have had such a feast beginning last Saturday. I have a whole bunch of rugby from New Zealand on Friday- and there are one or two football matches around over the weekend so we'll just keep hoping as you say. Join you in Zielona later.
  16. Thanks for the company all. Polish Championship tomorrow. Alan.
  17. Only 1 mechanical part in a speedway race (apart from the bikes! ) and you can guarantee once a week the starting gate will malfunction. Denmark, Poland, Sweden -no one is immune!!
  18. Never took it as a criticism at all. Any coverage of speedway gets my vote. His web site. http://www.jesperb.com/ Riding for Pila in Poland.
  19. Nice to see a 36 year old Monberg still enthused. (Underlined for Racers and Royals. )
  20. It wouldn't be the same without the cock-ups would it? On the plus side, on, I imagine a fairly limited budget, we get the very best stream anywhere-superb quality, and I get to laugh at the pigeon ad and see the oddest blonde. So what's a few graphic screw ups ?
  21. Hi all, Fingers crossed that last night's Swedish weather hasn't crossed into Denmark. Multi-tasking as I was yesterday I half expected that Rooney's penalty would be saved by a pigeon. On with the meeting and the ads. Weather looks good.
