  1. To quote Mandy Rice-Davis "Well he would, wouldn't he ? " He can always earn extra as a circus clown. !! Very enjoyable. Thanks for the help on a stream and join you in Denmark tomorrow. Well, not those who have to work. Regards. Alan.
  2. Maybe not quite as large but still a good crowd here also for what seems like a chilly night.
  3. I was going to say "Either a rut or a chain." Now we know. Bad luck for Rory.
  4. Honours so far to "The Indians" They wouldn't be allowed to have that nick-name here as it would be construed as "disrespectful". More nonsense here than in a party political broadcast. The University football team here in INDIANA were force to change to "The Crimson Tide" or face a $100,000.00 fine. You couldn't make it up! So i'm cheering for THE INDIANS. Yours came out green with sound. Enjoying it anyway. Thanks to BOTH of you.
  5. Great sound but just a green screen. I'll get there eventually PERFECT! What would we do without you.! Thank you.
  6. Thank you R and R. Just going to post that I had a "shakey" stream here. http://u-peak.me/eurosport2.html But i'm sure yours is better.
  7. Add in "jokers" and I have invited an accountant to keep the score for me. But, I am forgetting- we have the graphics man to keep us right up to date. Sorry you can't join us. Sure you will enjoy the repeat. All the best. Alan.
  8. Most sports are so much better "live" when you are there than on TV. I've often joked about our sport that we should have 'Smellovision" I remember , many, many, years ago now being taken to my first ice hockey game in Canada and being absolutely amazed at how much faster it was "live" than seeing it on the television. The "swoosh" of the players skates and the noise of the the crowd in the indoor arena. I put my name on the waiting list for a Maple Leafs season ticket that night. ( Never did get the chance to buy one- they were gold then and gold now. The only sport I have been to "live" that I thought "this isn't as good as on tv was when I was taken to the US Open Golf. Golf fans are real fanatics to stand in one spot to watch one part of one hole all day Being TOTALLY dependent on TV (streaming) for my speedway my only wish is that I were Bill Gates and could jet over every day to watch it live. I think we need tv more than tv needs us. Other than in Poland I wouldn't imagine there are great "bidding wars" going on for the rights. Denmark, Sweden and Poland appear to get good attendances to their "tv" meetings. The only one that people seem to stay away from is the UK. However the attendance at Swindon last night (least said the better ) seemed reasonably good from what I could see. Some people won't go "because its on the telly" but without the exposure to potential new attendees it will become even more minority than it is now. As our good friend Ghostwalker says sponsors are also getting exposure ( as my dear old Yorkshire uncle used to say "nobody does owt for nowt") and that has to help revenue income for the teams. In the early 1950's we got 8 -EIGHT! heats of speedway from the Wembley World Final on a Thursday night and that was it.For the year! What promoters need to do is to embrace it, welcome it with open arms and use all the new media outlets available to spread the gospel. I'll continue to do my bit by firing off e-mails to the tv stations here and boring everyone I know by telling them to come over to the house and watch it with me. All the best. Alan.
  9. Because sports programming is their BUSINESS. They pay for the rights to broadcast an event. They then send out their sales force to convince advertisers that they can deliver viewers to those advertisers. Big Brother IS watching you. They know if your set is tuned in to their programming. They pay "focus groups" to review the response to ads. The programming, whether speedway, tennis or any sport is a secondary consideration. Advertising revenue pays their bills and if there is any left over that is called "profit". which makes the shareholders happy - or unhappy if there isn't anything to distribute. They are not a public service broadcaster. Speedway gets shunted aside because (unfortunately) our sport does not produce a lot of viewers- or as they view it- does not deliver a lot of viewers to advertisers. I worked for many years in media advertising here in the USA. Believe me there is no sentiment involved at all . Just hard nosed business (monetary) decisions. Regards. Alan.
  10. The main reason they are not showing the Men's US Open tennis final is that they didn't have the rights ! It's on Sky right now. Often happens that one channel wins the rights for the early rounds and the big boys outbid them for the latter rounds and finals. Regards .Alan.
  11. I note that your tongue is in your cheek with your emoticon. Here are the greatest Swedes of all, who always finished on top. Unfortunately I never finished on top of Agnetha. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=92cwKCU8Z5c
  12. " Go ahead. Make my day" Dirty Harry and I will be watching. Have a good one. Alan.
  13. Thanks for the above. The second one starts with the great Torun collapse in heat 1 when Zabik only secured 3rd place! . It then concludes with a great fireworks display. In between ? Er...not much speedway. This is the biggest two-fingered salute to the paying customers I have seen The Gdansk promoters need to get their Elite League application in swiftly. All the best. Alan.
  14. Comes out as "That parody was the whole damn contest" Just love google translate!! Thanks for this. Really good semi-final and the right guy won it. Well done. THJ. Regards. Alan.
  15. Thanks for the company all. Fingers crossed mainly that we get the Danish final this week. We can but hope. Take care. Alan.
  16. Torun 64-14 after 13 heats. Holder has 11 + 1 from 4. Very happy for our friend Gater1. A good wager! At least Wroclaw have made an effort. Unlike Gdansk
  17. That was an awkward fall for Swiderski. Good to see him up and apparently ok. Those start girls relieve the boredom factor All is not lost. Four 5-1s and Wroclaw are right back in it.
  18. I'm possibly in a minority, but I can never understand the hostility heaped on Troy Batchelor from certain quarters. As in that interview he comes across to me as a decent guy. I'll duck for the Elite league bombardment.
  19. I'm on http://activepl.tv/stream2.html Totally junk free. . Choices for everyone. Sopcast "offline" right now. Are you feeling well after your "liquid" break.? You can pay for it with your winning Holder bet later. Gdansk team would struggle against the Start Girls.
  20. Moderation! The news today that "Jack The Ripper" has been unmasked as Polish -Aaron Kosminski , http://www.dailymail.co.uk/home/index.html Means we should examine the terraces very carefully in case he is hiding out in Gorzow. You have been warned.
  21. Sopcast back up now. Another one off the Polish conveyor belt. That was a hell of a ride from Smektala. This track never fails to delight in the quality of the racing. Best track anywhere?? Shame about the promotion. Imagine if this had been at Leszno.
  22. Excellent stream if anyone is struggling. http://activepl.tv/stream2.html Can't see it getting any better for Czestochowa unfortunately. Good job for Czestochowa that Michelsen is gallantly struggling or it would be even worse.
  23. I always admire the language skills of the Polish presenters.I try to imagine Nigel Pearson interviewing in Polish.
