  1. Thanks for the company all. The right pair won a reasonably good meeting to kick things off. Hope the Polish weather warms up for the season openers next week. Regards. Alan
  2. Good way to get the early season cobwebs dusted off. It also looks like a freezing cold night which may have kept some spectators indoors. Still not a bad crowd at all in a magnificent stadium.
  3. My Polish stream is very good so far. Good heat 4 for Sweden, but i think there may be a few 5-1s conceded by the Latvians.
  4. Welcome back. Alan. A very apt beginning after the winter, ghostwalker, that we get USA v Sweden- and it ends in an honourable draw. !
  5. Interesting article about finances. http://www.sportowefakty.pl/zuzel/508767/duza-kasa-za-tytul-mistrza-polski Regards. Alan.
  6. Have you ever watched a meeting from the hotel balcony on turn 3 and does each room come with a start-line babe ? Cobweb blowing practice and nice to see the ageless Pepe on song. Regards from a snowy Pa. Alan.
  7. Thank you. What a treat to warm up the anticipation for the new season. Emil looked very sharp. Especially nice to view after surviving the coldest, rottenest, snowiest winter since i've been here. All the best. Alan.
  8. What a shame. After the winter we have had (and continue to have ) the visa processing machine is probably gummed up with ice. Roll on spring. Best wishes to all. Alan.
  9. t least we know it's not us. This technology is wonderful when it works, frustrating when it doesn't. Got the same here from the USA. Patience and a techie will bring it back. Regards. Alan
  10. Very enjoyable. Lets hope it leads to a new generation. Full marks to them for all the effort and enthusiasm. Alan.
  11. No. The one in my back garden where my next door neighbour and i race our snow blowers is slightly smaller From a frigid (but functioning !) USA to a "we can't cope with 2" of snow UK. Roll on the springtime. All the best. Alan.
  12. My dear late dad, who took me to my first meeting in 1948, when i was 4, always insisted that, whilst others were really good, Tommy Farndon was "the best". My screen-saver is Tommy. RIP both Tommy and dad. Regards. Alan.
  13. Sadly, it doesn't look like it. http://www.motorcycle-usa.com/8/Motorcycles/Motorcycle-Racing.aspx Googling it only brings up 2012 and 2013. Hope i'm proved wrong....... Regards. Alan.
  14. Could lead to some "interesting" fixture clashes with UK meetings and 'can't be in 2 places at once" dilemmas for some riders which will lead to a lot of huffing and puffing on the Elite League section. Fri,Sat and Sunday meetings ! I'll take that. No doubt the universe will unfold as it should. All the best. Alan.
  15. Best news I've heard all close season. Lordy mama, we could get Daria interviewing Marta! Pawel is dancing on top of Niagara Falls at the moment. .Really good news. Regards. Alan.
  16. Further (translated ) words from Marta today. plus a nice photo to raise the spirits. http://www.sportowefakty.pl/zuzel/483171/nice-plz-bedzie-ciekawsza-od-ee-rozmowa-z-marta-poltorak Regards. Alan.
  17. Sad that it appears unlikely that we will get a weekly ogle at the delectable Marta Poltorak. http://www.sportowefakty.pl/zuzel/483103/pge-marma-rzeszow-nie-przystapi-do-procesu-licencyjnego-enea-ekstraligi Rzeszow appear to have made their position clear on the current cost of running in the top tier. Does our friend Pawel have anything to add from his home town perspective? Regards. Alan.
  18. Sounds like Ralph McTell Nice to see Niels looking well on the road to recovery.
  19. As does Linus Sundstroem. http://www.sportowefakty.pl/zuzel/477271/niels-kristian-iversen-i-linus-sundstroem-zostaja-w-stali-gorzow
  20. It was a "like for like" suggestion, since neither Marek nor Havelock speak a word of English. I'm sure Marek will land on his feet. The nicest little guy in speedway.
  21. The Leicester Hunters -vintage 1950s of the Ken McKinlay /Jack Geran era were a Friday night track as my old bicycle could attest since i and my friends used to do the trip from Coventry to Blackbird Road by pedal power. . And you tell young 'uns that today...we 'ad it rough in those days. Regards. Alan.
