The season following the "winter of discontent", it was documented a number of times that Peterborough had Nicki Pedersen on 5000 pounds per meeting guarantee. Regards. Alan. -
Good morning (here in US ) to anyone out there. Loads of good links today- watching on the Krakow link here. http://soccer-live.pl/transmisje.php?id=motorsport On the off chance that we have any Reading supporters on here (there may be one ! ) total commiserations for the cruel outcome yesterday. Can only watch the first few heats, but at least we can hope the starting gate has been oiled. Alan. Weather looks dodgy and decidedly chilly- but we have REAL speedway in a REAL speedway stadium today!! GRIGORI !!

This is a perfect example of why you'll never get the US tv companies to touch the sport. 4 races.-4 minutes and it's taken 1 hr and 6 mins and counting. . I'm watching a Polish stream and nice to have Emil commentating. -

I know. Plead poetic licence to make a point. "He would, wouldn't he?"[edit] While giving evidence at the trial of Stephen Ward, charged with living off the immoral earnings of Keeler and Rice-Davies, the latter made a famous riposte. When James Burge, the defence counsel, pointed out that Lord Astor denied an affair or having even met her, she replied, "He would, wouldn't he?" (often misquoted as "Well, he would, wouldn't he?" or "Well he would say that, wouldn't he?").[11] By 1979, this phrase had entered the third edition of the Oxford Dictionary of Quotations, and is occasionally abbreviated asMRDA ("Mandy Rice-Davies applies") or referred to as the "Mandy Rice-Davies clause". Doubts have been expressed about the veracity of the quote, and no court transcript exists; nor were the words included in records kept by lawyers at the trial. But in her memoirs Rice-Davies insisted that the essence of the quote is accurate, and contemporary newspaper reports support her account, as did an investigation by the Guardian in 2013.[12]
